They said it was activated and left the warehouse? I want to believe there's truth to this. I awakened and immediately checked for a tracking number but there wasn't one. I climbed out of the back order rut yesterday. I'm guessing they don't update information on the AT&T website on Sunday so...maybe it's highly likely your phone--and my own--are on the way and we're just waiting for the last bit of info.'?

Either way, it's GREAT to be free of back order hell.:)

Anyone out there get their iphone shipped or at least off backorder that had att waive the $250 upgrade fee? I am thinking that maybe since they did this for me I am not priority.
 
I ordered on the 14 at 7:20am. Order number starts 90310. My status changed yesterday from backordered to "0" backorder. Still no shipment day :(
 
Did the manager overhear it or did you go to him and let him know? I probably would've been thrown out of the store with my reaction if the way you describe it matches how I imagine it.

I wasn't even allowed IN the store, he was guarding the door. I was so pissed I almost threw his iPad out into traffic (this is the store on Boylston St in Boston, if anyone is from the area). I ended up walking away fuming. I went back the next day and spoke to my regular rep to see if they had any phones in stock, when I began telling him the story and he called over his manager. I had all the details ready for her, timing, name, etc... her jaw hit the floor.
 
I ordered my iP5 black 16gb on 9/17 and I have the 1612 number, it still shows backorder is set to 1 as of right now but I'm not too big on complaining as I clearly didn't know what I was getting myself into when I ordered it last monday. I'm just hoping I somehow manage to get out of being backordered and receive it this week coming up. Has anyone else who ordered it as late as I have gotten out of backorder yet?

His behavior was bizarre and beneath contemptible. Clearly this is not a man who should be dealing with the public. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I hope he received more than a verbal/written warning that's for sure. He should have been fired immediately! :mad:
 
I tried to track by reference on FEDX and UPS and it wasn't found. Does this mean that it's not in their systems. Could it go into their systems today?

I'd love to know this too. It's the whole reason I had to wait until 7 am est when their phone lines opened on 9/14 and couldn't order online.

Husbands line was up for upgrade but mine was not until November so they said they would let it go through anyway since we were buying two iPhones. Order starts with 90410 still back ordered. This upgrade fee waiver has me wondering too.
 
If I can find one in a store today, will they allow me to purchase it and cancel the preorder there, or am I screwed because ATT sucks?

Preordered black 64 GB on Sept. 21 at roughly 10am CST in store...

Received backorder status change from 1>0 on Friday evening around 5 pm

Received a tracking order sometime between last night and this morning..hasn't been activated but this certainly means it is coming sometime this week..

keep the hope up everyone that ordered on the first day of preorders, i didnt see a backorder change until the 21st..

I order my i5 32g on 9/15 at 10am and still on backorder!

32gb black are on backorder still for everyone I think, I still have it backordered, and 2 16gb on my account got off backorder last night. I just spoke to AT&T and they told me, that inventory is day by day and my phone would ship as soon as they had some inventory, and even offered to cancel my pre order if my local AT&T store has one in stock.
 
This is beyond disgust... I am officially held hostage by AT&T - have been trying to get ore orders cancelled since yesterday and I have been receiving false information as to it's status (it will be done in 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours 24 hours, 48 hours) - I even have a txt from AT&T stating that my upgrade eligibility has been reinstated - but guess what... Orders are still in progress, upgrade eligibility is set for 2014. I can't cancel my account either. For the last 2.5 days I have been calling local stores and they have had these phones in stock every single day... But I havent regretted anything more in my life than my decision to preorder with AT&T - its not about ip5 - it's about principals and the way they do business... I am evaluating sprint at this time since I do want unlimited data and I'm grandfathered into the plan with AT&T... I am pissed. How can they give their own customers this runaround? We pay their salaries!!!!!
 
Has anyone not on back order received shipping information today? I know a lot of people don't think AT&T updates on sunday. I've been off back order with no shipping info for two days. I'm guessing thats par for course on the weekend.

iphone 5 out of back order

I pre-ordered 16GB black on 9/14 around 4 EST. Though I got the promised 9/21 shipment from AT&T like everyone mine has been on back order till last night. Back order qty went to 0 last night around 10 EST without any tracking info. So I called AT&T few minutes ago to see the status to see whether it was shipped or not and I was told that actually AT&T have the iphones on hand but they are out of SIM cards that is required to activate the phone. That's why people are on back order (I know AT&T have been giving us all different stories every time we call). But even my SIM is not in back order anymore. Since today is Sunday I do not expect to get any tracking info unless FedEx and UPS are working overtime to fulfill the orders. Waiting continues.......:rolleyes:

AT&T likes to proclaim, "We're giving you the world." Yet if you read the fine print, you'll see "When we damn well feel like it." :p

Same here, I feel it's just a phone and I'll get it eventually, but when things should be so much simpler, especially after AT&T accidentally cancels your order, you become enraged with the level of service. Worst ever.

I wouldn't be surprised if he is fired. At least the manager took down my information and offered to hold a black 64gb when the next shipment comes in since I'm stuck in 'In Progress' hell.

So I stop obsess-checking for a few hours this morning...just checked, second phone (black 64gb) has now SHIPPED and will be here on Tuesday! WOOOOHOOOO! :D:D:D:D:D:D

Just to answer my own question... I just received an email saying my order has shipped with a tracking number. Estimated delivery on the 25th by 3pm.

I ordered 24 hours earlier than you, and I'm still on backorder. Wish the status page would change in some way. Beginning to wonder if there is a problem that is being overlooked by the CSRs I've spoken to. Would hate to keep waiting, only to find out there was a problem that could of been addressed earlier but since no one actually really looked at it, it wasn't amd I am forced to re-order And wait some more, turning a 7 day pre order into a month long ordeal.

I don't know, maybe I should entertain myself by clogging the phone lines and documenting the variety of different answers I can illicit from AT&T reps regarding the same case. Seems petulant, but why should I suffer in solitude?

9/14 10:38 am pdt, pre order, in store, 32 gb black iphone 5...stuck in processing status since 9/14. No change since. Provided 4 different Delivery estimates so far from AT&T reps, including 9/21. :mad: :(

Or maybe grab some coffee and wash the car.

It was a phone order before 9am EST on 9/14. I had resigned myself to the end of October.

I have an order of 90310 ad my 32gb black is still showing 1 on backordered lol. Dam u AT&T!!!
 
I think everyone has backordered 32gb phones, I do, and AT&T told me they would ship asap, when the get in stock, which changes on a day-to-day basis. I think my tomorrow all of them will be at least off backorder and maybe shipped!
