My status....

I per-ordered in AT&T store on the 14th, at 9 AM (I have a rep I'm loyal to). 32GB white, 16GB black. Both were processing until Friday, the 21st. 32GB shipped from Memphis, 16GB from Ft. Worth. Both should be here by 3 on Monday. 3 days after launch, no lines, I'm happy.

I got the same e-mail last night from AT&T, an hour or so after I noticed that I got off of back order (no shipping info yet). The e-mail didn't have any valuable info as far as I am concerned regarding the iPhone order. This is what was contained in the e-mail:

I'm in the 1406 group. Any others in that group with an update on their phones?

I haven't received mine yet and I ordered at around 2a Central on 9/14. Apparently it's scheduled to arrive btwn 10/4 and 10/15 which is complete bull. I wasn't eligible for a full upgrade so I was more than willing to pay the extra $250 for a total of $649 (Black 64GB).

I've called AT&T on several occasions and the amount of BS that these unfortunate folks dish out is utterly ridiculous. One told me that they had run out of sim cards (which I really don't believe nor understand how that could be possible). Another told me that I hadn't actually placed my order until 9/17 (told her I have an e-mail confirmation from them timed at 2:11am on 9/14) and another said they had a system malfunction that caused a number of pre-orders to be pushed to the back of the line (what?!?!). I've asked to speak to a supervisor and each time they said they would have to call me back. Still waiting on a phone call back.

I'm beyond frustrated. They're so nonchalant about the situation like it's my fault or that they have no control of it whatsoever. I'd appreciate it if they'd, at least, give me some sort of credit, especially since I now have to wait 2-3 weeks, according to their estimates, to receive the phone. Or at best, allow me to cancel my preorder so I can go buy it in store.

As I've said before, I will never preorder from AT&T again. They clearly don't understand the true definition of "preorder".
 
My two iPhone pre-orders and 2 flip phones (for my parents) are still on backorder. The date ordered says 9/17 but I ordered at 9:44am PST. Took them 3 days to port three numbers. :/

Ordered on the 14th in store around 4pm EST. Was told 14-21 days but order came off of backorder yesterday. Still no shipping info.
 
Ordered 4 iPhones at 6PM EST on 9/14, just got off backorder (went to "0") on all of them a couple hours ago. No shipment info or anything but I'm sure it'll be on Monday since shipping companies are closed on Sunday.

edit: Wow, a lot of you guys still haven't got off backorder and ordered earlier than me? That sucks, seriously. I've been itching this entire week and guess I got lucky.

If you live on the west coast or even East coast. Drive to a small town and get it from AT&T store their. Store in Merced California, as of last night still had 13 16GB white, 9 black 16GB, 11 white 32GB, 6 black 32GB, and a few 64GB. Call of course before you take the trip. I was Blowen away how many they still had. I asked if they had a line on Friday, he said about 20 people. Got to love a small town when it come to new releases of any hot product.

I live in a small town and couldn't get the phone I wanted from the store. They sold out fast but I "had a feeling" that they didn't even get in the 64GB black that I have on pre-order.

Just to answer my own question... I just received an email saying my order has shipped with a tracking number. Estimated delivery on the 25th by 3pm.

So I stop obsess-checking for a few hours this morning...just checked, second phone (black 64gb) has now SHIPPED and will be here on Tuesday! WOOOOHOOOO! :)

When did you notice the back order status change to 0? Mine went from back order 1 to 0 last night.
 
I ordered at 9:03 on the 14th at ATT store. They promised I'd have it delivered to my home on the 21st. At 9:24, I got an email telling me it would ship in 14 to 21 days. Then I got CSR on the phone who told me that it would ship the 21st not arrive on the 21st. Finally end of day Friday, I get an email saying my 16GB Black was shipped and would arrive Monday. :):D Fingers crossed but now that FedEx has it, I may actually see the thing Monday.

I placed my order for a white 32GB online around 8:00AM EST on 9/14 and received a confirmation email at 8:28AM that said I'd receive it the 21st. I received a text message that afternoon as well. That was the only contact I had from at&t so I went into this past Friday thinking I was set for delivery. When it didn't show up I freaked. When I spoke to AT&T they fed me the same line about delivery in October that everyone else is getting.

At some point today my phone went from backorder 1 to shipped. I checked the tracking number and it looks like they expedited the shipping to standard overnight so I should have it by Tuesday at the latest. Hope that gives some hope to some of the other 1406 orders out there!

Placed my preorder 9/14/12 around 6:30am central...blk 16gb order number began with 1406
Received conformation shortly after for 9/21/12 delivery date
Called CSR was told it was placed on backorder and would be shipped 14-21 days
Came off backorder around 9pm central 9/23/12 but still no tracking info though #
Any idea how long it takes to ship after coming off backorder????
Anyone else in the 1406 group receive shipping info yet???

PS. CSR tells me a different story every time I call so they're useless at this point

Got a $40 credit (upgrade fee) after complaining very hard on Friday about ATTs preorder unpreparedness and their teams cluelessness. Guys try this if you have spent a lot of time and frustration in the past week.

Does anyone know what the deal is with fedex? Would they deliver phones on monday? I heard something about them being Tue-Sun.

They deliver on Mondays. My 16 gb blk i5 has a delivery date of monday the 24th and its being shipped via FedEx.

Finally got a call back from a supervisor and the best she can do is give me half off of the activation fee... $18. Are you f u cking kidding me?????

Mine just showed shipped

Came home from church and mine now shows shipped with a Tuesday delivery:D. Went off back order yesterday.. Order number starts with XFM.

Tuesday will be a cool day. New iPhone and new Mumford & Sons album release!
