Both of my orders went off back order on Friday night. Got a ship notification for 16gb black on Saturday night, 64gb shipped this morning.
I concur, it definitely seems to be size related, in this case, bigger is not better.
Ordered my phone online friday yet it shows on the status screen I ordered today. I have a IRU account and was having problems ordering a new line through apple so I unfortunately had to go through AT&T. I'm in no rush and although quoted 14-21 days I'll be okay as long as it arrives in a month. Seems lately that orders are being shipped from what I've read on here. Will sell my old 4s once I get this bad boy in. I ordered the 32g black.

i think this can solve many anxiety issues could someone tell me what it means if my pending charges are gone from my amex account? they've been pending for a week and now there are no pending charges and no charges at all. does anyone know what this means?

Ordered black 16g at 9:25 am ET 9/14 at ATT store. XO order number. Went off of backorder on Friday, got tracking info late this afternoon. Delivery 9/25.
Just got mine shipped !! Right now in Texas via Jersey Baby!!! Finally on its way, 4 days after launch and had been on back order till 1 am this morning, now it's in Texas!! There's hope for the afternoon orders on the 14th

Interesting WSJ article on the supply of iphone 5 apple provided to partners like att, sprtint, best buy etc. I'm not saying it absolves the issues we are having with att, but it does make some sense.

It's Not Incompentence
Ordered 2 i5 64 blacks from at&t @5:30 PM eastern on 9/14. Still back ordered as of this writing. AMEX has been charged.
I was online and ready to order about 12 hours earlier, but I had recently moved from SC to TX. When I started the online ordering process the SC address was still in the books so I walked away from the whole thing until I could get the address fixed. That's my fault, I didn't change it. BUT. . .
Do you realize how LONG it took me to find the 'correct' phone number to call and change my address? It was ridiculous!
In the end, what we have here is a Microsoft situation going on at AT&T. Too many chiefs, too many fiefdoms, etc. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing AND THAT IS BY DESIGN!! Just look at how AT&T constantly changes the procedures just to get into my bill online to monitor voice and data usage.
I am reluctant to move away from AT&T, who I've been with since the Cingular days and are the only ones to not only have a good signal in rural SC, they had 3G as well. I've always had good service with these guys as far as billing/signal goes, and this is probably my first and last time ordering an iPhone from them during a prelaunch. A company this fractured, large and inefficient created this situation.
Really, it's to be expected.

So, I ordered in store 9am pst. Order status processing for my white 16g iPhone 5. My husbands black one is set to arrive tomorrow. . His went from processing to shipped mid afternoon Saturday. I called AT&T and she told me there is no additional info but, orders that were on back order should arrive oct 4-8 and mine will be before then. Hoping for Monday update just be nice, she waived the activation fees for both lines when I requested mine to be waived in a polite fashion. Poor agents, they aren't in charge and they are not paid well but they get 150 angry Mac obsessed callers every day. This is my 3rd iPhone model- 6th iPhone overall. Even when they piss me off I have so much love for the devices I can't bring myself to downgrade to a pc or android #wishing you all speedy delivery as we wait for our beloved devices!!

Sorry, it had given me the full article the first time, but now says you must have subscription. Try again using Safari on your computer, it worked for me.
The long and the short of the article is that Apple has vastly under delivered iphone 5 stock to all of its retail partners in favor of keeping stock in their own stores and website. I can say that I ordered the new lightning adapters and cables and they were original supposed to be shipped in 2-3 weeks but are on their way and should arrive by end of next week. Apple can fill orders faster than anyone else. If i was not getting an override on the $250 upgrade charge from att, i would have ordered through Apple.

finally today got fed up and decided to call again ( 611 )
when i called i finally got them to cancel my preorder ! ( he said it was some round about way but basically im eligible for an upgrade!)
gonna take my chances out in the wild, wish me luck!
(note: first CSR said it coulndt be done but once i asked to speak to a frustrated manager he managed to come through; i decided to cancel because even though the online info said zero for backorder- their system was showing that i was still on backorder )
might have been a mistake to cancel, but id rather go store to store than refresh a website every 5 min!!
