I also forgot to mention....I actually bought this phone outright since I wasn't eligible for an upgrade. So, should I have received T&Cs to accept too? Because I most certainly did not....

No T&C's. Thats what they told me on the phone. I paid the "no commitment" price as well. Hate AT&T. I actually tweeted @ATTCustomercare and 24 hrs later they asked me to DM a guy to have him check my situation.
 
Adding my story to the choir of misery:

My company is a premier customer. We have an internal portal we use to request the devices, and then our mobility manager actually places the order on the premier site. I put in my request on 9/14 around 9am, and received the confirmation email from AT&T at 1:30pm. So it took our guy a few hours to process the order. No biggie.

However, like many other premier customers I'm reading about here, my order date shows up on the order status site as 9/17. Makes no sense: my initial acknowledgement from AT&T show 9/14, the premier site says 9/14, CC preauth took place on 9/14, but apparently as far as AT&T is concerned, I ordered on 9/17. This wasn't a T's & C's issue. Just a pointless delay on their side.

So here I sit, near the very back of the preorder line, waiting for my 64GB black to move out of the backordered column. Nothing I've read here (and I've consumed almost the entire thread) gives me any real clue when that will happen. Irritating. And I can't cancel the order and get the phone from an AT&T store (even if I can find one in stock). Only our mobility guy has the ability to do that (or so he tells me). Makes some sense, since I have no control over our corporate contract. For obvious reasons.

Order# started 1010, by the way.
 
FINALLY got shipment info. Goodness. Pre-ordered at 9AM CST at AT&T corporate store on 9/14. Order number begins with X. Backorder switched to 0 on Friday 9/21 afternoon, updated with shipping info today within the last hour. Picked up at Fort Worth TX and scheduled for delivery tomorrow by 3PM.

It has been a painful past few days, as I'm sure many of you would agree. I truly hope all of your phones get shipped out as soon as possible, especially those who ordered before I did. Hang in there everyone. I definitely learned to NOT order from AT&T ever again in the future.
 
I know I'm screwed now by reading through the posts. I wasn't even thinking about getting the 5 because 6 months ago I was going to get a 4S and they wanted me to put down a $600 deposit. I drove by the AT&T store early Friday morning and the line wasn't bad but I wasn't going in and face the humiliation of another $600 deposit. About 2 o'clock that afternoon on Friday I decided what the hell, I'll call AT&T and see what they say. Well I about crapped myself when the guy said I was approved with no deposit for up to 3 lines! So I jump in my car and go everywhere in my area that sells AT&T and also calling while looking and everyone was sold out and said they had no idea when they would be getting any so I called back and ordered one. They told me 14 to 21 day but from what I'm seeing on here I might get it by Easter.
 
When did you get off back order? I got off on Saturday, but not sure what time. Hopefully I get a tracking number soon!

The biggest demand is on the 16GB Black unfortunately for your wife.

I am in the same boat as I ordered a 16 GB trying to save money since my 32 GB iP4 still has 23GB Free.

Serves me right for trying to save money. LOL..
 
Not my post, but just wanted to say that on this status site you just posted mine is showing a Pending Shipment with Backorder~ but the other one (like OP) just "processing". So I think I am going to check this one from now on! :D

This ties into what I was asking ... it sounds like the AT&T center/warehouse is pending receipt from Apple, then the AT&T center/warehouse will ship individually. Mine's pending shipment too, and I'm with another Premier company, but I did not order online. Perhaps I should have lol.

Just thought I'd add my story here...

Ok, so I ORIGINALLY ordered my 16GB iPhone 5 at 6AM EST on Sept. 14. All was fine until AT&T canceled my order on the 15th (around noon) because they couldn't verify my credit. I finally went into the store that same day to try to fix the problem. It turned out that AT&T had set my birthday to 2001 (therefore they couldn't run the credit check). Mind you, the customer cannot change their birthday on their own. It took the AT&T rep 4 calls to change it (over 30 minutes). After that trouble, they couldn't verify my original order. I had to place another order and was told that it would ship ON launch day. Right.......

Did anybody receive their tracking number yet who ordered on the 15th?

I pre-ordered an hour after release on the 14th. Didn't arrive on the 21st. On the 22nd I called and cancelled my pre-order. It took an hour, and 5 different customer service representatives (each higher up the chain of command - everyone has a boss, right?) but I finally got through to the e-commerce side where they were able to cancel my order.

My argument was simple: you advertised you could deliver the unit, you did not. You have my money, and you've already told me over the phone you do not have stock of the product. There's absolutely no reason you cannot cancel my order as its not being processed or in-transit.

My upgrade eligibility was reset, but I haven't seen the funds credited back to my credit card yet. I'll give it another day or so (it was Saturday when I called) and then give them a call back if nothing arrives.

The 32 GB just got a tracking number, estimated delivery is tomorrow!!

My WIFE will be excited! :rolleyes:

Any order numbers beginning with 1406 get a tracking number yet? Came off of backorder Saturday evening sometime but no shipping info yet #16gb blk/slate

Dan Desilva on 9to5 has posted that Apple is now starting personal pickup. Is this the way to get out of the ATT's mess up?

the funny thing is everyone here is asking about the order number beginning, ending in....it doesn't work that way...

AT&T goes by the ORDER RECEIPT day/time...

As they said after 7AM on September 14, 2012 - Phones were sold out and all orders coming in after that was assigned to a second wave of orders.

2nd Wave was estimated at 14-21 days of shipping time and the 3rd wave is 18-28 days, I believe today or tomorrow they are going into the 4th wave...

As usual...AT&T does not believe in the word "PRE-ORDER" anymore....

See what I mean... a lot of people who ordered after 7am are just barely getting there backorders to go to "0" - so imagine those orders from Sept. 15-16 and processed on the 17th of September...hopefully we get our phones before Christmas at least..by the way AT&T is hopefully reading this text..tweet them via @ATTCUSTOMERCARE
 
9041 order number came off back order today about 1pm today.

I ordered 64gb black over phone 8;30 am mountain time on the 14th.
Received text confirmation right away.
T&c email came at 2:30 pm which I accepted right away.
Order confirmation email came 8:00am on the 15th.
Order status shows October 15 order date.
Chat confirmed I would have phone on the 21st(didn't happen)
Called twice over the phone. 1st person Said it would ship out on 10-5 the 2nd said I would receive it on 10-4.
Hopefully it comes this week.

I am in the same boat. Ordered the same model as you at 6.30 CST. Came off back order on saturday at around 10.00 PM but still no tracking information. Very frustrating.:mad:

That's my order number. No shipment date or trackin number. Nothing about a back order, where can I find that info? I pre ordered my phone on AT&Ts website at 730 eastern in 9-14. For some reason when I check wireless account it gives and order date of 9-16. Really frustrated! Any advice would be appreciated.
 
Wow, I finally got off backorder today at noon PST and already received my Fed Ex tracking number with shipment date today!
