ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

I ordered 9/14 - 1:00AM PST but did not receive my confirmation email until 1:00PM - 9/15 for whatever reason and order date online said 9/15.

All CSRs said my shipping would be Oct. 4 - Oct. 15.

I ordered my iphone around 6pm atlantic time zone, was expecting the iphone in october 4-14 , came out of backorder saturdat and got my tracking number today, via fedex with expected shipping tomorrow by 5pm. Im surprised dint expect it to ship so soon. GO att :)

Order placed with ATT sales rep at 4am CST and this is what it has come to:

I have the same order number but I got the confirmation on 9/22! I had received my order number and wireless number on 9/17 but I'm still on back order estimated shipping date is October 25th. I stayed up all night for NOTHING.
 
It seems like most people who post here, get their tracking numbers ,and backorders removed, shortly after. Then a new group of people comes in and complains, and gets their stuff.

Still nothing here lol

I ordered mine before you, and still nothing! I ordered a 16gb black.
I'm going nutz hearing others have gotten theirs early, and I still see nothing on my order page but ?, ugh!
Are the 16gb blacks the most backordered?

Order placed 4pm eastern on 14th. order tracking says the order was on the 14th too.

ANY EXTP889s come off backorder or get their phones yet!! Ugh I just can't take it anymore. I want it now so I can sell my iPhone 4's and be done with this fkn transaction.

-------Well idk if this had anything to do with it , but I called AT&T .bitching. yesterday about people getting their orders before mine when they ordered hours even days after me .
The woman said please don't worry , we only say 14-21 days to cover ourselves && your package will be there very soon .
Next thing ya know , I'm out of back order .

Shipped via FedEx standard overnight 9/24
Eta 9/25 by 3pm

Hopefully this would get you an Eta idea.

Still on backorder. I want to be done with this transaction myself. I was suppose to send in my phones to Gazelle.com before Oct 1st. Doesn't look like its going to happen. It's annoying because my gut feeling is that we're going to be waiting the full 14-21 days.

just looked at my email got a message from att i thought it was the tracking number. it was a newsletter. so frustrated

Well just checked and I have my tracking number but only for one of the phones...weird..arrives tomorrow! :D

For those who want to know got off backorder around 3PM today....

ordered 9/14, signed T&C 9/15 for 2 16gb

I am a EXTP8899 and am back ordered!! I Ordered on the 14th and accepted terms and conditions on 14th, however It looks like my order wasn't placed until the 16th! So frustrated, and no one can give me a an explanation as to why my order was processed 2 days later!
 
I pre-ordered a 16GB from AT&T which will be coming tomorrow. Anyone know if I'll be able to swap it out at an AT&T store with a 32GB (provided they have one in stock)? Will they require a restocking fee if it has not been opened?
 
Premier? Yeah not so much...

The exact same happened to me. Ordered through our company rep through our premier account first thing at 8AM, got confirmation, etc. Shows it was ordered on Monday the 17th (3 days later) and I'm on backorder. They charged me on the 14th though which is fun. Glad I ordered a week early, so I could get it a month late. To put salt in my wounds, I just went with my boyfriend to Best Buy where he just bought one right there and had it immediately as they still had some in stock. Amazingness.

My company is a premier customer. We have an internal portal we use to request the devices, and then our mobility manager actually places the order on the premier site. I put in my request on 9/14 around 9am, and received the confirmation email from AT&T at 1:30pm. So it took our guy a few hours to process the order. No biggie.

However, like many other premier customers I'm reading about here, my order date shows up on the order status site as 9/17. Makes no sense: my initial acknowledgement from AT&T show 9/14, the premier site says 9/14, CC preauth took place on 9/14, but apparently as far as AT&T is concerned, I ordered on 9/17. This wasn't a T's & C's issue. Just a pointless delay on their side.

So here I sit, near the very back of the preorder line, waiting for my 64GB black to move out of the backordered column. Nothing I've read here (and I've consumed almost the entire thread) gives me any real clue when that will happen. Irritating. And I can't cancel the order and get the phone from an AT&T store (even if I can find one in stock). Only our mobility guy has the ability to do that (or so he tells me). Makes some sense, since I have no control over our corporate contract. For obvious reasons.

DOWN for Maintenance

Looks like the order stauts page is down for maintenance as of 6PM CST.

I just cancelled! Got a non English speaking person! I ordered on the 14th, they show it as the 16th. What ever...SMH
 
Just got off the phone with an ATT guy, he basically told me what the dang website has said, this friday to next friday (14-21 days)
Ordered my 16gb Black (most popular biggest delay model) at 14:25 on Friday the 14th.

No shipping info for my order-what portion of the order number is everyone using to see if theirs is getting close?

wouldnt be far off the other news piece that apple is just stringing the carriers along with ones and twos of units (well okay probably a case here a case there) and keeping a large surplus for itself... why not... sell the phone above what it costs to make (even with subsidy) and get paid the subsidy from the phone company... its all win win for apple.

i really should just call and cancel ... i mean seriously... first 3 hours .. 32g black.. premier... and i still have nothing to show for it and no promise of anything in the near future... FIFO... yeah right
