ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Phone went off backorder Saturday night and still no shipping info. Was very happy at first but 50+ hours no shipping info is annoying.

I'm in the same boat...it's getting extremely frustrating especially knowing that I could have had the phone in hand on Friday had I not bothered pre-ordering
My first and LAST time pre-ordering anything from AT&T as well as Apple
 
Off of backorder

Got off of back order Sat. 9/22 morning, assumed I'd be shipped by today but still no shipping info or tracking number. Part of 1910 online order group

That email address then be linked to your ATT account which has the tracking number and the iPhone serial number. They then catch the guy with the stolen iPhone and then he describes you as the person that sold it to you. I don't want to sound paranoid. But just send it back. LOL

That does sound pretty paranoid. It was their fault for not canceling the shipment IMO. I don't think the new user should have any difficulty activating it with a new nano sim, this isn't a verizon phone with ESN thank god.

Assuming it stands for business, we have a premier acct but our rep placed the order. Looks like AT&T is concentrating on the single orders before the multiples. You would think that having a premier acct would help, but no. Went straight in the back order bin and received email for 14-21 days to ship.

I got off of back order Sat night around 10 pm. You might want to call AT&T just to check the status. That's what I did. Then Sunday around 5pm I got the shipping info

Good Luck! Hope you will get your phone soon. I have also heard that some people received their phone without getting any shipping info

Ordered 9/14. Still waiting. I've spoken to AT&T every day of the week almost, they're starting to know who I am now. They say phones should "ship soon". I've heard that over... and over... and over...

Original order placed late on 9/14. Upgrade on at&t site. Ordered later in day cause my 5 line family plan bill was was past due. I was told phone would ship 10/14 or 10/21, or in 21 days, or something like that.

For past week, no change in status on at&t site: "Processing". Next payment is due this Wednesday. So, I paid it online last night, Sunday night.

Checked status this AM, no change, "Processing". However, around 6:30 PM I noticed on at&t account that it had shipped. !!!! 7:24 PM, I got an email that confirmed, with tracking number.

So, moral of my story, PAY YOUR BILL! AT&T probably fulfilled orders in a "first customer we can trust, first shipped" strategy.

Of course, if every post after this says their preorder iphone has shipped, then I guess I'm just FIRST.

My bills due in two weeks. I paid it on saturday and still no movement on my order.

Hi All,

What do the numbers in the purchase order mean? I order my 16 black at the ATT store on the 14th at around 11am pacific and the order number starts with XS995 , when checking on it it reads: back order 0, status in progress and pending shipment.

well they canceled my order now anyways lol even tho they said they would not and "could not" cancel my order... was canceled this morning..go figure lol..at least i can now go search att's and apples for one now lol..
 
ITS OVER! On the 5th call to AT&T I finally got a supervisor to cancel my preorder. Drove over to my local AT&T where they had a 64GB iPhone waiting for me the past couple days and now it's on my desk. Major rep to the local AT&T store for helping out.

Every call over the weekend was unsuccessful, each with a myriad of reasons why it was impossible to cancel the order. Even the supervisors would not do it. They kept saying they would cancel the preorder if they could, but it was impossible to do it with their systems. Yet today, this supervisor did it in a matter of minutes, no questions asked. It can be done. You need the right person and a good honest story. If you don't have a good enough excuse, they will give you the run around.

What a terrible experience, but finally I can put this all behind. :)
