Finally!!!...for real this time

Finally got shipping details from FedEx. To be delivered by 3 pm PDT tomorrow. Just shipped out of Fort Worth, TX.

Notes:

Ordered in-store (upgrade) on 9/14 @ 10:38 am PDT
Original summary email from AT&T said: " Your iPhone will ship in approximately 14-21 business days *. All orders are processed on a first come, first served basis."

(CSRs said, 9/21, 9/22, 924, 9/28, 10/4...)...AT&T store clerk said 10-14 days.

Order was stuck in 'back-order' status from 9/14 through to last night between 9 and 11:30 pm PDT, when the status (back-order) when from 1 to 0.

Shipping details just received (or actually checked status online...AT&T has not sent be a shipping notification email, yet) in the last 20 minutes.

There is hope!!! Some of you who haven't come off of back-order and who ordered on 9/14, may be seeing your updates, as well. Good luck.


In retrospect, I guess the delivery estimates were relatively accurate from the onset. CSRs muddied the waters when they told me last week that I should receive my phone on 9/21. Clearly AT&T personnel were not well informed and were probably pulling answers out of there a$$es. Who could blame them them? They didn't design the infrastructure to accommodate this launch, and were probably thrown to the wolves with an inadequate project plan. Honestly, they don't pay enough for me to deal irate customers all day...especially when you really have no capability of addressing the customer concerns in a real, informed manner.

After being told repeatedly that the order could not be cancelled by the CSR, and then told by the supervisor that it could be cancelled, but it'd be 24 hours before my upgrade elligibility was reset, and then being told by retention person that no, in fact, it could not be cancelled, my order suddenly reset to cancelled around 4 PM EST. But, no upgrade elligibility. Called 611, talked to a very helpful CSR named Jesus, and now have my upgrade elligibility back and a cancelled order. Of course, the Apple Store near work sold out of this morning's shipment hours ago, but still . . .

Praise Jebus?

Are you freaking kidding me that my exact phone is shipping to others who ordered way after me and I had ZERO problems with my order??? No credit card issue. Order confirmed on the 14th! Everything was perfect! ##%&^*&^$@ 33$$%%!?!?"

Ship my phone. I paid for it. I pay my bill on time every month for over 9 years!!! If I wasn't grandfathered with an incredible plan and massive amounts of minutes, I would be gone!

Sorry. It's just every time I check my status and see that "Processing" I get all "Hulk smash!"

We literally should all setup a time to call them and just go nuts like this guy. Seriously cause this is BS. Capitalism fails time to go anarchy on these fools!

Still no shipping confirmation from AT&T since leaving back order Saturday (9/22). :( Has anyone else gone off BO over the weekend and is waiting for a black 16gb phone? 1910 'group' here.

I'd like to know how in Hell Apple plans a second launch in, what, 10 to 15 other countries later this week when they can't deliver enough phones to the carriers right here in the states. :mad:

a quick update here, my order was showing on BACKORDER earlier today around 2:30 pm then around 4:00pm i checked again, its under processing status...is this a good sign? placed order on att.com yesterday pm white 16gb

You would've been MUCH better buying one in a brick and mortar store.

Ordered 9/14 8:30 am EST. Back-ordered until Saturday evening. Order number 1407, online regular site. 16gb black.

The last CSR I spoke with said shipping was confirmed for Oct. 6. So this is better than that but I still give the whole process an F+.

I don't understand how people that ordered in the afternoon and evening on the 14th are getting phones, even people who ordered on the 15th are getting phones, and we're stuck on backorder??? I talked with an AT&T CSR today and my order was processed at 4:00a on the 14th, I ordered it at 12:30am on the 14th as soon as the website was available and accepting orders... So why is it that my phone is back ordered while others that ordered after I did are getting the exact same phone? Where or who can I get in touch with at AT&T about this???? Beyond CSR's and their Supervisors! I'm still not even being given a firm date other than the 14-21 day BS... Last time I pre-order AT&T!!! And if it wasn't for the great plan I'm grandfathered in on as well, I'd be up and gone by now!

FINALLY just went off backorder. Ordered 32gb black at 723am central time. Had the dreaded 1612 order number.

my pre-authorization is gone too. Apparently it will charge again (and for real this time) when it ships...so I wouldn't worry, although I was concerned at first too. Same boat as you, still in backorder, preordered on the 14th, but not until around 7pm est.

if you order through at&t premier now, it says 21-28 days to ship.


has anyone went to apple and been able to get the phone there even on a business account? i didn't think it was possible, just checking.

32 black ordered 9/14 8 pm pst in store. Still back ordered. I asked for a $100 credit, I got it, and now I'm reading people are getting coupons for iPhone accessories. So I will be calling demanding that as well

People who ordered well after the cutoff time for a release day delivery (I'm included) should be ashamed of themselves for calling ATT and demanding credits and waiving of fees. When you ordered, the rep told you that it would be 2-3 weeks, then later you received an email that stated it would take 2-3 weeks. ATT has no reason to give you anything as they will probably deliver exactly what they already said they would. This "everybody else is getting something for free" attitude is ridiculous.

The only people that have any room to complain are those who were promised a release day delivery, but did not. Although even these folks are sounding whiny and entitled...

You folks who are complaining about ATT's "pre-orders" obviously did not pay attention when ordering. They never said anywhere that a pre-order meant that you'd get your phone before people who go directly to the store. I even asked the sales rep about this when I ordered mine, and he said "it just means that you have a phone reserved and it will ship to you when it becomes available. The instore stock is completely separate from the pre-order stock"

I'm not saying that this whole pre-order thing has been perfect, but a lot of people are making it seem much worse than it really is with their incessant whining and their sense of entitlement.
 
EXTP Order went off of backorder this morning. Just chatted with att, hoping for more information on their end. Still the same BS of October 5-14th. Why do I bother checking all day and calling att? This sofa king we tod did!

People have a right to vent. It has been a most frustrating experience for a lot of us. That said, if you dislike the incessant 'whining' and what you consider to be this strong air of entitlement, kindly excuse yourself via the first available exit. That should solve YOUR problem immediately.:mad:

Further proof the order number does not matter at all. I ordered @ 1:00am on 9/17 and my order number begins with 1407
