People have a right to vent. It has been a most frustrating experience for a lot of us. That said, if you dislike the incessant 'whining' and what you consider to be this strong air of entitlement, kindly excuse yourself via the first available exit. That should solve YOUR problem immediately.![]()
People who ordered well after the cutoff time for a release day delivery (I'm included) should be ashamed of themselves for calling ATT and demanding credits and waiving of fees. When you ordered, the rep told you that it would be 2-3 weeks, then later you received an email that stated it would take 2-3 weeks. ATT has no reason to give you anything as they will probably deliver exactly what they already said they would. This "everybody else is getting something for free" attitude is ridiculous.
The only people that have any room to complain are those who were promised a release day delivery, but did not. Although even these folks are sounding whiny and entitled...
You folks who are complaining about ATT's "pre-orders" obviously did not pay attention when ordering. They never said anywhere that a pre-order meant that you'd get your phone before people who go directly to the store. I even asked the sales rep about this when I ordered mine, and he said "it just means that you have a phone reserved and it will ship to you when it becomes available. The instore stock is completely separate from the pre-order stock"
I'm not saying that this whole pre-order thing has been perfect, but a lot of people are making it seem much worse than it really is with their incessant whining and their sense of entitlement.
I'm a 1406 that's still on backorder but I ordered nearly 9 hours before you did.
Still no shipping confirmation from AT&T since leaving back order Saturday (9/22).Has anyone else gone off BO over the weekend and is waiting for a black 16gb phone? 1910 'group' here.
I'd like to know how in Hell Apple plans a second launch in, what, 10 to 15 other countries later this week when they can't deliver enough phones to the carriers right here in the states.![]()

Mine was shipped today after going off back order on saturday.
This is literally the worst product launch ever. Apple knew how many damn phones they were gonna sell yet they announce it on the 12th and open pre-orders on the 14th to release on the 21st. Shouldn't have been that quick there should have been a lot more time to push out more devices before starting this launch. There's not a single iPhone5 at any store anywhere with a 75 mile radius of me. Thats absolutely ridiculous.
16gb blk ordered 14th 2:30pm eastern, just got my shipping info- delivery tomorrow.

Not technically a preorder, but here is my info:
I ordered a 16GB Black on Friday, September 21, at around 9:15 PM from the Premier AT&T site and was quoted 14-21 days.
What is the latest someone ordered so far that has received shipping confirmation?
Thanks,
Matt
Nowhere did I say people did not have the right to vent. In fact, I said that a lot of people DO have the right to complain.
My main point was about people who were not promised a 9/21 delivery date complaining/getting free money from ATT. It seems that most of the 14-21 days crowd are getting their phones well before the estimated dates. In fact, I ordered 16GB black and a 32 GB black on 9/14 around 7 PM EST and was promised 14-21 days. The 16 GB order will be arriving tomorrow (that's only 12 days), but I'm still waiting on the 32. I'm still confident that I'll get the 32 before Friday.
I even admitted that the pre-order process was far from perfect. It's just not nearly as bad as some people are making it out to be.
All is forgiven. Please, stay; the drinks are on me.
I can't leave this thread! It's provided me with hours of entertainment while I (im)patiently wait for my phone!![]()

If I lose the offer gazelle gave me for my 32g att iPhone 4 b/c it took att/apple more than 30 days to receive my phone then I will be getting $ from att.
I ordered on 9/17 and was quoted 14-21 days. Gazelle quoted me on the same date and I have till 10/16 to get my 4 in the box and postmarked, otherwise my offer drops significantly.
GTFO if you're tired of people complaining they don't have a phone yet.
