I hope that everyone understands that "7-14 days" is 7-14 BUSINESS days, thus it could be 3 weeks.

I also have concluded that AT&T doesn't have a clue and they are just shipping when they want to, a total AT&T IPHONE5 LOTO with no powerball....

People have a right to vent. It has been a most frustrating experience for a lot of us. That said, if you dislike the incessant 'whining' and what you consider to be this strong air of entitlement, kindly excuse yourself via the first available exit. That should solve YOUR problem immediately.

Yeah what he said. Also AT&T never said that when I places my pre order that their system was such a piece of shyt that I'd be put 3 days behind orders when I ordered it on the 14th come to find out it didn't process until the 17th even tho my TERMS were accepted on the 14th and my account was charged on the 14th.

People who ordered well after the cutoff time for a release day delivery (I'm included) should be ashamed of themselves for calling ATT and demanding credits and waiving of fees. When you ordered, the rep told you that it would be 2-3 weeks, then later you received an email that stated it would take 2-3 weeks. ATT has no reason to give you anything as they will probably deliver exactly what they already said they would. This "everybody else is getting something for free" attitude is ridiculous.

The only people that have any room to complain are those who were promised a release day delivery, but did not. Although even these folks are sounding whiny and entitled...

You folks who are complaining about ATT's "pre-orders" obviously did not pay attention when ordering. They never said anywhere that a pre-order meant that you'd get your phone before people who go directly to the store. I even asked the sales rep about this when I ordered mine, and he said "it just means that you have a phone reserved and it will ship to you when it becomes available. The instore stock is completely separate from the pre-order stock"

I'm not saying that this whole pre-order thing has been perfect, but a lot of people are making it seem much worse than it really is with their incessant whining and their sense of entitlement.

If I lose the offer gazelle gave me for my 32g att iPhone 4 b/c it took att/apple more than 30 days to receive my phone then I will be getting $ from att.
I ordered on 9/17 and was quoted 14-21 days. Gazelle quoted me on the same date and I have till 10/16 to get my 4 in the box and postmarked, otherwise my offer drops significantly.

GTFO if you're tired of people complaining they don't have a phone yet.

Not technically a preorder, but here is my info:

I ordered a 16GB Black on Friday, September 21, at around 9:15 PM from the Premier AT&T site and was quoted 14-21 days.

What is the latest someone ordered so far that has received shipping confirmation?

Thanks,

Matt

Ordered 2 16bg black on 9/14 at 8am (online pre-order). ATT website has said "Processing" since then. Called ATT 2 days ago and they said it would be shipped between 10/4-10/15 and that I would receive an email 24-48 hours before they ship. I just got an email (5:55pm 9/25) that said that my phones have shipped and they will be here tomorrow! ATT website still says "processing". Obviously cant get their stuff straight but glad my phones are on the way!

Still no shipping confirmation from AT&T since leaving back order Saturday (9/22). :( Has anyone else gone off BO over the weekend and is waiting for a black 16gb phone? 1910 'group' here.

I'd like to know how in Hell Apple plans a second launch in, what, 10 to 15 other countries later this week when they can't deliver enough phones to the carriers right here in the states.

Mine was shipped today after going off back order on saturday.

meh

I will be surprised if I get the phone before my preorder of Halo 4 shows up. Yes, I am aware that Halo 4 comes out in November.

Nah... I think you are missing the point. I didn't mind waiting for my phone so much but it is frustrating that people who order online post the 14th or later in the day than me are getting theirs already. The 'first come, first serve' basis is flawed. Their systems were flawed. The whole roll out was flawed. A lot of people on this thread are stuck waiting for phones and some unable to cancel. Meanwhile, there's inventory elsewhere. People who were proactive and waited patiently for their phones are being stripped of their options; hence, the frustration. It is understandable and warranted. Yes, it is pety to some extent but there is a degree of customer services that businesses should adhere to nowadays and from what I've seen it has been disorganized and subpar.

This is literally the worst product launch ever. Apple knew how many damn phones they were gonna sell yet they announce it on the 12th and open pre-orders on the 14th to release on the 21st. Shouldn't have been that quick there should have been a lot more time to push out more devices before starting this launch. There's not a single iPhone5 at any store anywhere with a 75 mile radius of me. Thats absolutely ridiculous.

Are you saying that they should have pushed the release back just so that they could have delivered to everyone on the same day? That is ridiculous.

Nowhere did I say people did not have the right to vent. In fact, I said that a lot of people DO have the right to complain.

My main point was about people who were not promised a 9/21 delivery date complaining/getting free money from ATT. It seems that most of the 14-21 days crowd are getting their phones well before the estimated dates. In fact, I ordered 16GB black and a 32 GB black on 9/14 around 7 PM EST and was promised 14-21 days. The 16 GB order will be arriving tomorrow (that's only 12 days), but I'm still waiting on the 32. I'm still confident that I'll get the 32 before Friday.

I even admitted that the pre-order process was far from perfect. It's just not nearly as bad as some people are making it out to be.

I can't leave this thread! It's provided me with hours of entertainment while I (im)patiently wait for my phone! :p

People that ordered on the 14th.
You really screwed up ordering one, if I was in your shoes I would've found one in a store rather than ordering one.

Yours should ship when the 5S is announced, at the rate things are going.

All is forgiven. Please, stay; the drinks are on me. :p

I have cancelled my AT&T Premier pre-order Black 16 gb, I will try my luck for white 16gb at store this weekend..

I think this is why a majority of us are upset; I ordered mine on 9/14 at about 1pm PT and my status is still backordered. Meanwhile yours, ordered roughly 9 hours after mine, is shipped. This is definitely not first come first served as claimed and promised by AT&T. They haven't lived up to their end of the bargain.

Just received my 64 gb black,

Preordered in store at 10am on 14th. Was told the 14-21 days until delivery. Dont believe it guys.

I agree, for the most part, however, with most 'pre-order' products, you are guaranteed your product before retail customers can drain the supply. FIFO.

For example, if I pre-order FIFA 2013 or any video game, I expect to get that game shipped or delivered to me on release day or waiting for me in the store for pick up, where they've saved my copy for me. I do not expect to be told that they oversold the pre-orders and I would have to wait for supplies to replenish while watching the 'johnny-come-latelys' walk in and out of the store with copies while I am tethered to some pre-order agreement, that limits my own options. Pre-orders are generally done to guaranatee product to those willing to commit early.

Maybe it is a case of more appropriate wording like 'pre-sale' instead of pre-order. Maybe they should have a presale for launches (5 million sales estimate...set aside 5 million phones for pre-sale...all else beyond that...pre-orders.)

That being said, I'm sure people are simply using this forum as a vehicle to rant and release frustration with people who share their frustration. I'm certain no one's world is falling apart because of the clumsy nature of this launch. I don't have a problem with that and am certain that aside from reading their posts, if you ran into them at lunch, you find them as normal as tthey generally are.

Obviously this isn't water or food...but it is $$$ and there's nothing wrong with being upset with not getting what you paid for when you expect it. Last time I checked, iPhone prices are not trivial enough to be aloof about and not inspire a little rage when not delivered reasonably.

Wow! You're a super complaining entitled one, aren't you? Late on ordering, quoted 14-21 days, and ALREADY freaking out only 8 days later!?! Math is apparently not your strong point. 9/17 + 21 days = 10/8. 10/8 is MORE THAN a week before 10/16. Calm down, you'll be A-OK!
