ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Well - if yours was a Premier order too, and assuming there's some kind of logic behind this whole process, then I'd hazard a guess that your shipment will be 24 hours behind mine (i.e. you'll receive tracking tomorrow with delivery Friday).

That said, we cannot possibly make the aforementioned assumption with any kind of confidence. AT&T has successfully thrown logic completely out the window.

All I did was ask "What are you going to do to keep me happy and so that I stay with AT&T?". Call 611, ask for Customer Retention Offices. When connected, ask for a manager and then let em have it. It's like Vegas from there on out. I really hate that I put so much pressure on them in the way I did but after paying so much for phones, $299/phone yeah thats just $600 but they took my money and I have nothing for it. So I told em that and to "make me feel better" they gave me gifts

When the 3Gs/4/4S all came out, I remember friends who pre-ordered and their phones would arrive at 8am to their doorsteps on release day. Pre-Order isn't the same anymore.

It seems as though they claim those times based on whatever number of business days are left from when you ordered. I was told my phone had a shipping date of October 4th but she then clarified and said it could always ship before that as well. Basically the reps know next to nothing.

I got the tracking #!!!!Yeah! it will arrive tomorrow! i was 0 backorder since yesterday around 5 pm! and i check like 15 minutes ago and it was shipped!! :D

Ok, I order a 64gb of att website the 20th. Att took the money out of my account. Now its back in my account. I thought they charged it when preordering. Does that mean my order is cancelled?

No, your order isnt cancelled. It has happened to a lot of people here. Once your phone is shipped, it will show again in your account.

No, that was just a preauthorization. Happens to pretty much everyone (myself included - the charge sat for five days and then dropped off, but the phone shipped today). They'll charge you "for real" after the phone ships. Don't worry, they'll get their money.
 
Obviously the date and time and location of your order doesn't matter. Me and my uncle both ordered our white 16gb on the 15th. He received his on the 21st and Im still in back order. And by the way, he only lives a few houses down. Hahahaha this is so ridiculous, especially to the people that ordered on the 14th.
 
My Story

Went to AT&T store and ordered the IP5 on the 15th. It was a Black 32G unit.
I was told 14 to 21 days. So it's been 11 days now. It has been on back order since the 15th. order # xfs0513xxxxxxx. Just sitting here, checking the stories and checking my status and waiting for my first Iphone. :confused:
 
Still back ordered....not that I'm surprised at all.

I ordered via regular att web site @ 1am on 9/17, so there's a ton of people who should be getting phones before me, however I've been reading about people who ordered AFTER MY ORDER getting taken off of backorder!
How is it people who ordered on the 19th are coming off of BO before you all who ordered on the 14th,15th,16th or in my case the 17th?!?

If I didn't have a grandfathered plan w/1000+ rollovers I would've jumped ship to Verizon already.

Damn you att, you've got me by the testes!

11 calendar days but AT&T has been referring to business days in most of their communications (which excludes weekends, despite the fact that AT&T stores are open everyday). That would put you at day 8.

It stinks that mine still is on backorder, but I can wait a bit longer.....

Ordered on 9-14 at 6:30am CST via premier, system says order placed on 9-18. Black 16gb unit.

Excellent news! Mine was shipped this morning 6am. Same phone, same time taken off of backorder. Hopefully this means shipping isn't too far behind for you too! *fingers crossed*

I'm in the exact same situation as you except mine is 32GB. I know the feel.
 
Shipped! Delivery by tomorrow at 3PM. 64GB black, moved from back order last night sometime and shipped in less than 12-18 hours. I ordered on 9/14 at 9:50 EST at the AT&T website.
 
Good to see some 9/17 orders being shipped out. It does bring a small hope for me since I got my order processed and wireless number at that date.

On the bright side the wife is making dark chocolate and peanutbutter fudge. Score!!!!
 
Bout damn time!!!

Extp889985 ordered the 14th and pushed to the 17th...off back order around 1am EST the 26th and just checked the order status. Shipped today from Memphis enroute to New Jersey for delivery tomorrow the 27th My black 64gb is finally on it's way! :D:D Fellow EXTP's....YOURS IS ON IT'S WAY!!!! Someone said it earlier and now I join the group that I wanted to sucker punch all week! Good luck guys and gals. Don't rely on AT&T to email anything to you because I got not a single iota of information from them regarding the order other than the initial confirmation on the 14th and the email bomb they sent to let me know that they suck at pre-orders online. Turn around time from backorder to shipped was about 12 hours! I would say be patient, but that ship sailed on Saturday the 22nd!

I did receive a tracking number around 9am today. My phone arrives tomorrow, coming from Fort Worth, TX
