ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

I ordered a 32gb black on 9/14 around 2:00 CST in an AT&T store. The clerk told me it would be delivered on 9/21. However, 9/21 rolled around and I never have received an e-mail nor did the order status page on AT&T site have anything for my order. I called AT&T on 9/21 and they could not find my order and called the store with my order number. They told me 14-21 days. They said to check back on the order status page at a later time. I checked again on Monday 9/24 and still nothing. I called AT&T again and they did have my order and still said 14-21 days. I asked why haven't I received any e-mails or why the website isn't updated. They said the website wouldn't b updated they had a shipping number available. Has anybody else had the same experience? This is getting frustrating hearing the people can walk into the stores and get an iPhone or people receiving e-mails with their shipping information but I haven't seen anything yet and calling AT&T doesn't get you anywhere.

I just don't get it.... All these orders after me getting their phones shipped and off backorder.
 
UNBELIEVABLE... I've been following this thread and FIRST it was people who ordered on the 14th that were tracking their phones. Now it's people who are in the 17th, 18th, 19th??? Some of which are getting shipments!?!?!?

Any other orders on the 14th that are still on backorder? I'm a 1406 order on the 14th 9am ish PST. 32GB White. Have not moved out of backorder since day 1. Still don't understand what I'm missing.

I believe my order number was 1219. No e-mail, no update in order status.
 
I've been creeping for a while and thought I'd post finally.

I ordered 9/15 around 7 p.m, came off backorder at 4 pm yesterday and this morning I got tracking info and a delivery date of 9/27 by 4:30 at the latest.

I don't understand how AT&T could leave all these first day orders just hanging but I feel for ya guys because they did the same thing to me when the 4 launched. I feel lucky cause I didn't even get in on the first day but somehow am getting my phone tomorrow...hope everyone gets theirs soon cause this just isn't right.

Me too! I ordered on 09/14, pushed to 09/16 and still on back order. I ordered the iPhone 5 black 16 gb. I ordered through premiere and my order number starts 1010 or 110 if you look after the dash.

who knows why?

Thanks for the post. It's another reason why I think something went wrong with my order. I've called twice but AT&T mentioned everything seemed okay with it. I'm wondering when they will realize that my order is clearly messed up. It's stuck in purgatory somewhere... I seize the day they will tell me "Oh your order didn't go through." We shall see...
 
Shipped!

I've made a few comments about my frustration with AT&T. I have been following this thread religiously, and have been checking my order pages on ATT's website constantly. Just found that mine has finally shipped. Here's my timeline, which I hope will be helpful for those who are still waiting:

-Ordered one Black 32G iPhone 5 from AT&T's website on 9/14 at 7:00 AM EST

-Got my e-mail order confirmation at 7:10 AM that the phone would be delivered to me on 9/21 (1407 order #)

-Got a text that my order had been processed at 2:45 PM

-Got off backorder yesterday (9/25) around 4:00 PM

-Had a tracking number show up around 12:00 PM today. Being delivered via FedEx from the Forth Worth, TX shipping center. On track to deliver tomorrow before 3 PM!

Honestly, over the past week, I had become more and more fed up with AT&T. I knew they'd ship it whenever the hell they wanted to, but I hoped they would get around to it sooner rather than later.

So, I wanted to thank everyone on here for being supportive, and I sincerely hope those still waiting get theirs soon! :)

I almost have to remind myself that I'm actually getting an iPhone 5 at the end of all of this.

It does appear that the Black 32GB version seems to be running the furthest behind and has had the least movement over the past few days as far as coming off of backorder and shipping. It seems like the only people that got their orders in EARLY (prior to noon EDT) on 9/14 that haven't received their phones yet are Black 32GB orders. We can only hope that means that AT&T is due to get a shipment of those within the next day or two and start catching up.

Yeah... I'm 32GB White. Maybe it is the 32s. MAYBE. ;)

My order number starts with EXTP8899.. Anyone else with similar numbers have theirs shipped/off back order yet?

i ordered a 32gb black around the same time and i have a extp889981 order still on backorder........i hate att
 
You are not alone waiting on 9/14 shipments:

9/14, 12:50:29 CDT at AT&T Store for a 16GB White

Came off backorder Saturday, 9/22, night. No shipping yet.

Just love this quote from the confirmation email:

Thank you for your recent order. Your iPhone will ship in approximately 14-21 business days *. All orders are processed on a first come, first served basis.

I'm not frustrated by the delay but by the fact they *clearly* are not going on a first come first served basis even among just store orders.

Maybe they mean first come, first served for a 6'3" customer ordering in Minnesota between 12:50 and 12:55 at the Roseville store. Yeah, that's the ticket!
