ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

It's like I'm the only EXTP889985-er who is still on backorder. I just want mine before my birthday Saturday. Is that so hard to ask for o m g
 
So, I ordered a black iPhone 5 32gb on the 14th, sometime in the afternoon, and my order is STILL processing! I am SO aggravated. The websites says the date I ordered was the 16th!!!

I just came back from the AT&T store, because I wanted to see if they possibly got anymore in (a AT&T employee told me they may get more shipment in...), which as I expected they didn't. So I played around the with iPhone 5 at the store, dreaming of the day mine will arrive. A employee came and talked to me and said her husband ordered a iPhone 5 the saturday after the pre-order date and received his phone this week! That makes me irate!!!! Plus I keep hearing about all these people that just walked in the store and got to buy one the day they were released. I am so upset. I feel like they are never going to ship me my phone.

Oh, I didn't believe a word of it. Basically I called b/c I got an email from att w/the header 'Please update your bill settings' and wanted to make sure my account w/att was fine and this would not cause any delays w/the delivery of my 5. The lady csr was pretty cool and seemed knowledgable, so I asked her why people who ordered on the 14th haven't gotten their phones, but people who ordered after that have, asked her about first come first serve. She got kind of bitchy and kept interrupting me, so finally I cut her off and said "can I speak? You keep interrupting me, can I speak? I'm the customer, let me speak!" I explained to her again about how they are not going first come first serve, and she told me that up till 11am 9/14 was first come, and after that they go off of a 'different' system. When I asked about the other system she said the main factor was proximity. She asked if there was anything else she help me with, I replied w/ something like 'yeah, get me a phone!'. Hung up after that
 
I dunno about you guys, but I intend on cooking up some popcorn and chugging a few while I hit refresh for the next 6 hours tonight :D
 
I have been following this thread for days, figured I would finally post.

- Ordered two phones (1x 16GB BLK and 1x 16GB White) through Premier on 9/14 at 11am CDT (separate orders)
- Received emails stating that the phone would be shipped in 14-21 days even though the website said they were still shipping by the 21st.
- Received another email on the 20th stating that both phones have been delayed and will ship in 14-21 days.
- Found this site on the 21st and realized the Premier order status page is crap and used the correct order status page only to realize that the BLK phone had shipped and would be delivered by 3pm.
- The white one is still on backorder.
- Like most of you I placed the order on the 14th but the order status page says the order was submitted on the 16th.
- The whole time I have not heard any status updates from AT&T.
- I don't dare call CSR since I am sure they will piss me off.

Now I hear that people who ordered 16GB white phones this week have already had their phones shipped. This is a load of crap. I just renewed all three lines otherwise AT&T would be losing a customer.

Where is my phone? Crap maybe it's the one on the floor in the Fedex picture that went around last week. :eek:
 
Whatcha drinking on Michael? I run a couple of liquor stores on the beach and think tonight is a good drinking night (I don't drink often). I'll bring home a 6er and chug it down!

Nah, a couple of Hawaiian brothers own them, I'm the general manager.
L.I.T.s? Phew! I'm gonna bring home some Abita Amber and drink it down, plus my lady likes to drink a couple watching her show, Modern Family, so I'm gonna 'upgrade' from a 6er to a 12pk.....but I'm gonna buy it directly from the store rather than pre-order it. AT&T taught me to never pre-order anything (unless its a video game)

I live in texas, they ship from texas. If this were true I would have gotten my phone already. I ordered on the 15th.

Got it!!!

Just picked up the new phone (32gb BLK) from the AT&T store it was delivered to. Syncing now. It was pristine with no scratches or dings on the band around the device (at least none I could detect). It still has the protective film on it. I'll give it a better look once it finishes syncing.

It's svelte, beautiful. I have a 3GS in a Powermat case that dwarfs the IP5, in both length and width.

I was concerned that adding any case would bulk it up too much (I saw and handled one with the big Otterbox Defender case on it (massive), but am no longer worried about that. I just want to find a case (I think I prefer a bumper) that allows you to see the device better.

It's an impressive piece of industrial design. So well finished so well machined.

Good luck to those still waiting. Feels worth it. :)

No SIM removal tool?

My iPhone wasn't shipped with the SIM removal tool. My last iPhone was a 3GS...does Apple no longer include the tool in the packaging?...or am I missing something?
