ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

I would like to know this as well. I tried to cancel my order for a 32gb Black because I want the White after all the scratching issues and they shipped my order out that night instead of cancelling it. Anyone think they might be doing this on purpose? Seems fishy.

I thought most people bought a case even if it didn't have a scratching issue. It's a good idea to get one anyway for when you go to resell it some years down the line.

My iphone 4 looks as new as the day I first opened the box due to my free Speck case from antennagate. Has a nice secure grip to it and rubberized for bumps and bruises. Fits the phone like a glove. I've removed it only once in 2 years time.

BTW, a hard shell case can get scratched up too. Go with a rubberized version.

Mine said only 'processing' from the 16th until the 29th.

Thanks! I don't mind waiting. I just want to know if my order went through or not. I'm confused with the status. Don't know which one is true. Everytime I log in on my account at at&t premier it says 'processing' but when I went to the website that you gave me, it says 'in progress' and backorder 1. Which one do you think is more accurate? Thanks!

Was your status there still 'processing' or 'in progress'? Everytime I go to that site it says 'in progress' but when I log in on my premier account it says processing.

Yup, you're correct! Everything went through all nicely. I'd say that the one saying "In Progress" with the back order is more accurate because it shows when your order is no longer backordered and once it's off BO, you'll know that your phone will be in your hands in about 2-3 days. Processing and In Progress is usually the same thing in terms of status because they're processing your order so that once they have a phone for you, they'll ship it off and the status will change from Processing/In Progress to shipped.

Mine says In Progress and Processing as well on both pages.

I'm pretty sure they do that before your order is placed because I know on my receipt somewhere it says something about a credit check, upgrade, and all that.

Yeah I do but it's a separate order number so it's not going to keep my phone from shipping. Just weird been off for going on 2 days now.

Whats even weirder is that us 16th'ers are still on BO, and all the cust reps say is "I apologize, unfortunately, I am sorry, but your order is still on BO, I regret this immensely, and I dont have any other information, I really apologize, I am sorry, I know its inconvenient, I am really sorry...but I dont know why, but I dont have any other info...I am sorry, anything else I can (pretend to) help you with..?"

Me, Danielle63 and Daddynexxus are still waiting for a ray of hope.

been following this thread for a while. ordered 16gb white on the 16th, processed on the 19th, still on backorder. chatted with a rep online, he told me to expect it between 10/9-10/18.

Mine left DFW Airport on Sunday and arrived at the Orlando airport this morning. Why doesn't UPS give an estimated arrival time!? I've gone from checking the ATT order status page constantly to checking the UPS tracking website constantly!

While most people might use a case, I do not. I expect some minor wear and tear through the year, but if it's going to look like it got thrown in a washing machine after a month of use, I'd rather just go with the white version.

Regardless, that wasn't my question. Just wanted to know the best way to go about this with AT&T since they should have cancelled my order instead of shipping it out.

Just ordered my iPhone 5 Blk 32GB from an AT&T store to be shipped to my house.

My upgrade was later this month so had to do in-store to get them to honor it today. Guy said it is backordered but some people have been getting it quicker. Will post updates as things move along.

Since it's still not at your local UPS, I would say tomorrow for overnight and Wed for two day.
