Well...I am finally off of backorder which is great. I got a big 0. I bet it will take a 24-48 hours until it actually ships out. Just glad to know that part of the journey is over. I still have pending shipment under tracking number and status says in Progress.
16 GB WHITE off backorder as of between 1 hour ago and 15 minutes ago. Ordered in-store around 4 PM EST 9/16. 2 week and a day on backorder. Good luck, everyone else. Will update when shipping information is received.

yes same thing. I called ups...and they said the biling info wasnt upload to them yet....this is all while it sat in the airport for 2 day. wish i did next day for fedex.
What did you order though? I'm guessing that certain models will be more "popular" than others and thus may ship slower than less popular ones. I'm thinking a 16 gig black will take longer to get that a 64 gig in your color guess is as good as mine.
This is great! I'm 24 hours later same info. Seems like I was right and a shipment came in today. *fingers crossed* At this rate I might have mine by Friday.
hi, I also ordered in store but on 17th instead of 16th. When was your card being charged? I did not even see any pending charge as of now and the status shows BO. Thank you!

I ordered on 9/17 in store but have not seen anything happen to my credit card yet... not even the $1 pending charge...which makes me worried if the order went through or not~~~ but since I did it in store, I guess I got that store sale person to blame if it is indeed messed up...

i noticed, my store had plenty of 64GB's but i think i'll just wait till I can get lucky and find a 32GB I don't mind waiting 2 more weeks.

My card was charged immediately upon signing the ToS and whatnot. Then the charge went away. This is AT&T making sure you actually have the funds to purchase the device, but not charging you because you do not actually have the phone.
I'm in the same boat as you. I ordered on the 17th in-store, but I did see a pending charge on my card on that day, which eventually went away. I haven't seen it since and I also never got a $1 charge. I'm still on back order (black 16gb) but I'm confident that we'll get ours by the end of this week.
Pooey... I ordered on the 20th too. I'm not off BO yet. But I ordered white 16gb. Congrats to you though, small ray of hope that the rest of us 20ers are going to see our day come soon.

I just noticed... I already have shipping information! I ordered on the 17th. Black 32gb. Went off backorder at around 6pm-7pm ET.
White must be coming off backorder faster
I order 2 32gb white phones and 1 32gb black at an AT&T store on 9/21. So far both whites have shipped and I have a tracking number and the black still shows backordered.
Last time white was harder to get, apprently apple is making more white then black or a lot more people ordered black instead of white this time.
What sucks is the whites are for wife and daughter and the black was for me. lol AT&T still sucks. They insist even with unlimited data grandfathered they will lower the LTE speed to a crawl as soon as you hit 5gb which is way to easy to hit with LTE. By Andriod phone hits 25gb a month tethering on verizon and so far no throttling.

Ordered over phone on the 20th, processed on the 21st (16gb black & 32gb black). Still on backorder. I hope and expect that everyone who ordered before the 21st gets their phone this week.
Wow. I hit 3gb for the first time last billing period. 10 minutes of watching ESPN on my phone used about 1gb. It's so sad that I can't freely watch ESPN on the go because I'm worrying about my data usage even though I have "unlimited" data.
I think I may have shot myself in the foot from the sound of people that have ordered online through ATT. I just ordered an iphone 5 white 16gig through ATT site on 9/29. Expected delivery is 14-21 business days. I guess that means m-f.

Here's a new one. I finally came off back order on Friday, got a shipping notification and tracking number on Saturday with a 10/1, 3pm delivery commitment. Well, the flight from Memphis must have been late and they arrived at the FedEx facility here near Los Angeles too late and my package (and apparently many others) did not make today's truck. I called Fed Ex at noon and offered to stop and pick up my package if they could tell me that it would still be at their facility. But they said that they would get "them" (presumedly a whole bunch of iPhones) out on a special truck today and I would still receive it today, although they would not be able to promise at what time. Well, it's now 9:25 pm, and they never showed. Fed Ex has really disappointed me because I could have easily stopped and picked up the package. Damn them! I can only hope for tomorrow, as my tracking information still has not been updated today, after it started showing Delivery Exception.
