ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Like many of you, I'm waiting to be removed from back-order and probably have quite a wait until that happens. I didn't order until the 20th so there are quite a few of you in front of me.

My question is though...even though there are so many that are waiting for their pre-orders yet, are there still random phones being shipped to AT&T stores on a daily/weekly basis? Or will the stores not receive any until the back-orders are filled?

I'm curious if I would increase my chance of getting a phone sooner if I start driving the folks at my local store crazy by calling or stopping by on a daily basis. Since they're not the most helpful of people, it might be kind of fun. :)

I called and YES, they are getting shipments regularly, but I was told they CAN NOT guarantee they will have phones everyday. I ordered my phone on 09/21, if by this weekend it wont ship. Ill have to cancel and order at apple.com for the 'pick up the next day' service..
 
My phone is finally out for delivery today! It's been a long, agonizing wait.

Ordered 9/14 @ 7 PM EST
Off backorder 9/29
Shipping information the same day via UPS 2nd Day Air
Out for delivery on 10/2

Has anyone gotten their phone through UPS yet? Do they require a signature for delivery? I know people who have gotten theirs through FedEx have not had to sign.

It never said back ordered.. just 'in processing' all these days till now..
says it is shipping TODAY 10/02 OMG OMG OMG .. so excited..

You just said a couple of posts ago that you ordered on 9/21. Now you say that you ordered on 9/28? And you got shipping info? I don't think so...
 
Wow. So get this, I pre-ordered two black 32GBs on 9/14 at ~10am. Was told 9/21 delivery of course.

On 9/24 I said screw this, and ordered two black 32GBs through Verizon. Cancelled one of my AT&T pre-orders and left the other just to see how long it would take, and figured I'll throw it on eBay when I get it.

Yesterday I get my tracking from Verizon and they will be delivered tomorrow.

AT&T? Still qty backordered = 1.

SORRY SORRY your right.. I ordered 09/21 .. I'm too high on coffee right now.
I live in san antonio, texas and it says its leaving from forth worth. That's five hours away.. so that means I should get it by Thursday? Its coming UPS.. I dont know if deliveries are by airplane or driving? I'm guessing by truck since I'm not too far..
I hope it doesn't make a pitstop in Houston or Austin and wait another day lol
I should just be happy it is finally coming.. I really thought it was coming the end of october like customer service told me via chat att.com.

Well congrats to you too. I ordered on 9/20, processed on 9/21 so hopefully it will be soon for me too. Yeah they always say middle-end of October but it seems like a crap shoot whether you get it earlier than that or not.

I've been off backorder since Saturday and I still have no shipping info...people come off backorder and get shipping info right away or within 24 hours. I'm going on 72 hours...
 
My iPhone 5, black, 16GB is out for delivery via UPS.

Ordered 09/14 via Premier
Processed 09/16
Came off Back Order on 09/29
Left Ft. Worth, TX on 10/01
and is out for Delivery in the Cincinnati Area now!

It has been a long process but I hope well worth the wait!

Thank you!! I hope you get yours soon too. You ordered one day before me. I find that strange you haven't got a confirmation yet... AFter work I made ONE attempt to my local AT&T store and asked... " i know you might say no, but do u have any iphones left? ha ha ha" he said no, then I just went to att.com and ordered the phone that after noon.. I think next time I'll do thet 'get in line' thing like in the samsung galaxy commercial....ha hah a"yeah but they make the coolest adapters." lol lol

Calling them didnt help me one bit. They said it'll ship out October 5-16. Wtf?
 
Two Day Shipping

Just talked to UPS about the iphones departing and arriving in Dallas over and over again. The CSR said that since they were shipped two day air and it only takes one day to get to me, that they purposefully wait to ship it until the latest possible time. Sounds like it might have already arrived, had it been shipped UPS Ground... Says on the UPS website that they "Love Logistics." Clearly, this is not the case.
 
iphone 5 32gb black ordered on 14th didnt get processed till 16th
off backorder on the 29th and received shipping info the next day via fedex

San Antonio here, too. Ordered a 16gb white on 9/22 over the phone, still on BO :(
 
plenty of you people are lucky. Ordered a 32gb on the 15th at like 4am (was out of the country) and it's still processing! Order isn't supposed to arrive until next week. Doesn't appear as though any Apple store within 50 miles of Los Angeles has any stock.

Ok I'm glad it's not just me. I got off of backorder around 1:30 on Saturday... Was expecting shipping info by now :/

What's up with that?

All these other people coming off backorder are getting their shipping info with a few hours up to 24 hours. It's been 72 almost for me.
 
Backorder

I went off backorder on Friday and received a tracking number saturday. package still hasn't shipped. So, for those of you upset that you haven't yet received a tracking number, don't worry, some of us with tracking numbers haven't even shipped! My guess is that UPS and FedEx are just not able to fulfill all of these shipments in a timely manner. Mine was shipped two day air and has been circulating around Dallas since Saturday.
