Its about time, I ordered at the store at noon on 9/17!
congrats~ I also ordered in store 5 hours later than you on the same day~~ hopefully mine will be off BO by tomorrow and arrive by weekend

But I still haven't been shipped and no tracking info.. I don't get it. Think your getting somewhere coming off backorder then it gets even worse having more 0's then 1's. I'm going to need to see a doctor after this.
Just calm down buddy~ I see you post here on a 24/7 basis. I also ordered on 9/17 (actually on the 14th but ATT.COM cancel my order they said the were not able to verify my info blahblah... and I did not know that until 17th so I went to a store to re-order...)... and I am still on BO!!! you are lucky already that you now have your BO goes from 1 to 0... nothing to complain because lots people in a worse situation than you man! Make a life!

I stopped by my local apple store both yesterday and this morning. They told me that they have not received any shipments since last Friday. They do have a few 64gb Sprint models in stock. Local AT&T store said they do not expect to receive any for 2 more weeks. I'd try the reserve after 10pm trick but I already preordered so the system says I am not eligible for an upgrade and I cannot proceed any further unless I cancel the preorder, which seems like a gamble.
I've been following this thread for awhile and I cannot understand why some people who ordered on the 17th have theirs in hand but some poor guys who ordered on the 14th do not. Keep my fingers crossed for ya... hopefully you'll get yours soon.
I wonder if there are some serious supply issues because of the big Foxconn riot in China...?

Well, actually, all of the phones on my contract are now shipped.
1 32GB white
2 16GB white
2 16GB black
Scheduled delivery by 3:00PM today.
So...
9/20: placed the order
9/30: 1st phone off "processed"
10/1: the rest off "processed" and all of them "shipped"
10/2: hopefully receiving
All ordered on 9/20 as an upgrade to our current contract.
So I think they are definitely still working on those deliveries.

Am I better off waiting for a store(live in small town) or just pre-ordering it online now? If so which would be better to pre-order from AT&T or Apple.com? I checked Apple Store and it says they won't have any in-store till Nov. 7 so I keep thinking online might be my best bet? They don't charge the order till it ships, correct?
I know that there are probably people that ordered before I did on 09/18 and I'm sorry that you haven't got your phone yet. What I am pissed about is AT&T shipping orders for people that ordered on 09/20. This clearly is not first come first serve. I ordered a black 16GB on 09/18 at 5:30 pm. There have been others that have ordered after that date only to have received their phones. Also AT&T told me on the phone that no walk ins would get a phone until ALL preorders are filled. So clearly this is not the case either.
once you order you are very likely getting trouble cancelling that order... I think online order takes 3-4 weeks now...so I would suggest just wait patiently~ and in November there should be enough stock then you can pick where to buy...

Mine starts with XS29 and then a random string of characters after it. Ordered in-store on 9/28.
also ordered in store, on 9/17, 3 phones are all on BO... ok~ then sounds like mine is fine... Thanks!

people ordered fewer phones would get their phones sooner, is that true? I ordered 3 phones in a family plan... I think they should be shipped around same time... which should make them a little more later to arrive...I think.

For those of that ordered in-store and ordered a case along with it, what does it show up as on your order? I have an item under the Various SIM saying "ATC Genco NONE ACCESSORY" and I don't know if that's the Otterbox I bought along with my phone
Keep in mind we have a total of SIX iphone models with different availabilities. You have 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. Most of the pre-orders I am seeing here are for the 16GB in either black or white, black being the one I see mentioned most. I ordered on the 21st, but I ordered the 32GB model in white. The 32 and 64 aren't in as high demand as the 16.
