I dont know. People ordered on 9/20 got the phones but people ordered before that did not... but I know it's not the turn for 9/21 yet~ maybe next week~ good luck

According to ATT my 16gb Black will ship on 10/10 but no later then 10/19. I can only dream that it will go out earlier it seems like that is where the shortage is. No 16gb Black to send out. Thats why we are in BO hell :(

I think white is in high demand now, because of the scratch and light leakage issue for black model...

I ordered 2 white 16gb and 1 black 16gb on 9/17.... still BOed

Finally delivered! Also activation tip.

This thread has been amazing, I am so glad we all were able to share our info and keep each other sane during this process. Here's my timeline if anyone's interested and I sincerely hope everyone gets their phones soon. It will be worth it. The iP5 is amazing.

9/14: Ordered via online Premier Store around 7pm EST - 32gb Black
9/16: Date it "processed", I guess...:rolleyes:
9/29: I called AT&T and asked why I was still on backorder. They tell me there was a problem with my order and they go ahead and "process" it. About two hours later I'm magically off of backorder.
9/30: Shipping info received
10/2: Delivered around 1pm via FedEx

The one thing I learned is to never order through AT&T ever again. It was complete chaos, obviously, seeing that the process of sending out orders is very random. Also, I suggest if you have activation issues to call 1-866-895-1099, ask to speak with CSR, and have IMEI and ICCID numbers ready. I could not find anywhere via iTunes to activate, like they claimed, so I broke down and called and it took less than 10 minutes. They will call you back, if you're using the same phone number, and you should be good to go. Good luck to everyone:)

EDIT: I also want to add that the phone is in mint and immaculate condition. No scuffs, no scratches, etc. Nothing like that.
 
Very happy (and sad, at the same time) to see people finally getting their phones, and the amount of posters here dwindling.

Just got shipping info in the last 30 minutes. Just picked up at Memphis. Delivery by 4:30 tomorrow in NJ. Via FedEx!
 
well...

Mine has finally shipped and has a tracking number. I am on UPS 2nd Day Air. I am surprise I do not see when exactly I could get the phone. So far 10/2/12 it arrived at DFW Airport.

I will need to wait about a week more because it is going to my parents place. I felt uneasy having it come where I am especially since UPS is really slow where I am at. So my parents are going to ship it by USPS when they get it.

Soon I will have my 5. :)

Glad to hear it Marcus! Mine is at my house, my lady was there when it arrived!
I've got a ton of paperwork to do, but I'm only gonna finish the stacks I've started so I can leave work early....about 2 hours till it is in my hands!

This whole BO process killed my productivity lately, so it'll be nice to get back to normal!
And like most of you, this is my first and last time pre-ordering anything from AT&T!

Really ?? There are other models available ?? I never knew that. I KNOW there are different models out there. I know what the models/color that are most in demand. You can ask somebody instead of being condescending.
 
Mine should be here today so I'm hoping it gets here ok and not too long from now. :)

I received the FedEx tracking information late last night. It was not until early this morning that the tracking number actually had information. As per the FedEx website I'm still in the "Initiated" status... the package have not been picked up yet. My estimated delivery was Oct 2, 2012 by 5:00 PM... I think I will need to wait a couple more days because of this!! :(

-Ordered 9/17
-Off Back order on 10/1 between 6:00pm - 7:00pm ET.
-Tracking information appeared on the AT&T website at around 10/1 9pm - 11:30pm ET.
-Received on 10/2 7:40am ET AT&T's email saying that my order had shipped.
-Still... my package have not been picked up yet.

Ladies and gents I got some great news for you! My order, which was placed on the 17th in-store, for a 16GB black i5 has just gone off back order. Considering the 16GB black is in the highest demand, I think this should raise hopes for those that ordered on or before the 17th and are still back ordered.

it prob didnt...mine lef and came back to dallas. Mines went to philadelphia. came back last night...and now on its way again. I actually tracked the flights.

weirdest stuff ever.

Sounds like my case. It went from Memphis to Nashville to Knoxville and is still in TN. Then tomorrow I will be in the empty case group :D

The issue appears to be AT&T taking so long to send the billing to UPS, so UPS won't move it past DFW.
 
finally one down and one to go!

So my boyfriend's 16g Black just came off back order within the last half hour. No shipping info tho. My 16g White is still on back order and I ordered mine before he did his....lol its ok tho, I have an iPhone 4 still and this will be his first iPhone so I'm excited!

Date ordered and processed: 9/18, 12:00pm est
Date off back order: 10/2 4:00 pm est (16 gb black)
 
New to this forum might as well start off with my information:

Iphone 5 16gb BLK
Original order date: 9/16 (was cancelled wednesday for credit verication. I'm a new customer.)
Re-Order date: 9/19 at AT&T store at around 12 something.
Order confirmation email: 12:32pm
Order status: In progress/Processing/Pending Shipment/BACKORDERED.

CSR Says: Expect shipment next week from 10/9-10 something...

I've been in the waiting game too. :/
