Wanted to add my story (nightmare).
I pre-order on 9/14 at 6am (local time, Puerto Rico) that's 3am in California. The order when through and got a confirmation e-mail that my iPhone5 will arrive on 9/21. I check my order from my current iPhone in mobile mode and didnt notice that the order didnt have the address confirm until 9/20. Thats because when you check on orders in mobile mode on the iPhone it says first in big letters that the order is backorder and will ship when it's available, but if you scroll all the way down, you will not notice the status in little letters that say the order is pending because of address confirmation. So in summary, I lost my turn, never got e-mail informing me that the address was not confirm and my order was push to start turn on 9/20.
To get matters worse, I went on 9/22 to a local at&t store to see if I could get one available unit there. Not a good idea, at&t customer service was the worse and they didnt event enter my account and see my order. They said if I make my order online, they couldnt change it or cancel it on store. With that, I call at&t Premier service on the phone and try to change my order from an 16GB white to a 32GB white (upgrade). I was told by the representative that the change could be made and that it was made. That was a lie, because a check my status like crazy the next days after that and the order never change. Contact at&t again, and they could me that the upgrade couldnt be made and if I wanted to change from a 16GB white to a 32GB I had to wait until my device arrived, not open it and go change it on a local stores near me. Also, that I could cancel my order.
I see now this all pre-order thing is a fiasco, never going to pre-order through at&t again. Got order delay because of insufficient communication, cant change (upgrade) order even though orders is still pending and hasnt ship and to make matters worse, cant cancel is I change my mind.
Today is 10/2, order still in process status and I dont have a clear idea when my iPhone5 will ship
