ordered 2 on 21st morning before work, got them on 2nd.
ordered 2 more on 21st night after work for kids , still back ordered. Whats not ok is.

I talked my parents and my sister and her husband into switching from sprint to att. NEW LINES

parents ordered 2 iphones on 27th, got them yesterday.
sister ordered 2 iphones on 24th ( exact same model/color as mine- 1 blk 16, 1 blk 32 ) and got it on 3rd!!!

Where did my two phones go?? How are others getting same phone before me?
 
if i cancel two of my three preorders and one is being charged an early upgrade fee will i still be able to order through apple via in store pick up and just pay the early upgrade there?

Just called the apple store and the have 16s and 32s in stock, but.... they only have the white. tough call sit and wait for my black one or settle for the white one. IDK lol clock is ticking...

As long as AT&T isn't overriding anything to give you early upgrade pricing, you will get the phone at early upgrade pricing through Apple.
 
I was going to do the reserve at a store option after 10pm so I chatted with a rep and asked about canceling my order. She stated because I did it online I was unable to cancel it. I would have to wait for it to come and refuse the order or return it to the ATT store. How ridiculous is that? My problem is the wait so why would I return it once I have have it? lol smart one there. I also asked her if I would get the upgrade back she is said it would be reversed within 72 hours. I am so tempted to return it once I get it now and switch carriers. I don't even mind the wait so much it's the service that is ridiculous.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

For how long it has been taking, I would have taken white or even coughed up the extra $106.00 for the 32GB if needed.

If it still shows Backorder 1, it should still be cancelable. It's so dumb for them to have people RTS, when they could just cancel orders and let other orders move up in line.

I ordered on the 21st so not as long as others, Ive just never taken a liking to the white ones.

I got my 16GB black reserved through the 10PM process. Just get your order to the cart, then at 10PM, refresh and pick In Store Pickup. If everything shows out of stock, cancel, wait a few seconds, then pick In Store Pickup again, etc... Around 10:05 PM, stores finally showed In Stock.
 
Online has nothing to do with being able to cancel; however, depending on how far through the fulfillment process it has moved, it might not be cancelable anymore. If it still shows Backorder 1, it should still be cancelable. It's so dumb for them to have people RTS, when they could just cancel orders and let other orders move up in line.

That is exactly my thought...I told her "so your telling me that even thought I ordered on YOUR website through YOUR company I can't cancel? Especially when you tell me it will be sent out when there is stock?" My order still shows it's on BO so there shouldn't be any reason why I couldn't cancel. It just so frustrating.:mad:
 
I am kind of losing interest in the iPhone 5 now. The excitement of it being new is going way from having to wait so long. I mean I have a Galaxy nexus that is awesome that I have only had for 6 months and is unlocked and I can use wifi hot spot without a plan with att.

The longer it takes the more I hate apple and att. I already hate apple from all the lawsuits and their big heads. Now they have messed up this. They really are starting to go down hill. Sorry for all the apple lovers out there. Don't get me wrong I like apple product, but the company as a whole I hate.
 
Spoke with a rep. First I asked about my shipping frame and just got the generic, "all Apple iPhone 5 orders are an estimated shipping time of 14-28 days."

She also said that they are trying to fill ALL pre-orders before fulfilling any orders that came after the initial release. We know that's not true since orders that have come after have been fulfilled and some pre-orders have not been filled yet.

Also asked if switching my order from a 16gb to a 32gb will completely restart my order or just start from the same spot since I'm still on backorder and she said that it would definitely push the time back and I wouldn't get a phone any faster.

And as expected, they have no idea about Foxconn and how it could affect their supply in the coming weeks.

Actually it does have something to do with it. I called att, and they assured me that because I ordered in store, I could cancel the order as long as the primary account holder was present.

Well I suppose. I just meant that you aren't automatically unable to cancel an order just because it was placed online.
 
I'm trying to get a black 64GB and my local AT&T store told me that they received 6 64GB's last week and they were gone before the day was over.

He said to call next Mon, Wed and Friday and see if anymore come in.

I just wondering if I should order from AT&T site or just keep calling my local store in the next week or so.:rolleyes:

What do you think would be my best shot?:)

I want to call AT&T but after reading some of your attempts at doing so it sounds like you are just getting the run around. As much as I don't want to deal with it, I'll suck it up and call them specifically about the white 16's and what going on there. Some of you are saying they have this model in stock in the stores so I can't see how it would be a supply issue. AND, why shouldn't they be able to cancel your order if you're still on BO? They have tons of orders to fulfill that aren't even close to being fulfilled. It's so easy for them to just press a button and delete your order, but they are feeding lies cause they don't want you to go buy one elsewhere.

I wonder if iphone 5s will be up for preorder by the time i receive my current pre-order...just sayin..:rolleyes:

So it seems that they are shipping out phones with order dates from 09/17 and 09/18. Has everybody received their phones that ordered prior to 09/17? My order date is 09/19 for iphone 5 white and iphone 5 black.
