If I cancel my order, how fast do you think it'll take for my upgrade to return? Just wondering. Before signing for the contract renewal, I was already out of contract.
 
Just don't believe a word they say- they're full of it! Those of us that ordered on the 18th have been waiting 25 days!!!!!! That's 3 days short of a MONTH! I'm getting furious!

I don't think we have been waiting 25 days. I ordered on the 18th as well but it has been well short of 25 days since the 18th of sep. Try 18 days if you count weekends which att does not I called and ask. It is 14-21 business days.

They quoted me 7 to 10 business days when I ordered, sorry about the 25 day thing, bad math:) when it comes to weekends AT&T might not count them, but the weekends are work days in China- production never stops (excepting holidays and strikes).

It's super super sleazy service though- and I feel like we all have a right to be frustrated and angry.

As much as I'd like to agree, most (if not all) of us have no reason to be upset. I ordered on 9/22 and my order confirmation says "21-28 business days," putting an expected delivery date between 10/22 and 10/31.

It sucks, but they did warn us from the get-go. I'm sure ill receive it before then so we should be thankful to get it prolior to the estimated date.
 
It finally shipped!! Scheduled delivery date is this Wednesday through UPS! 16GB Black pre-ordered 9/17 through att website. I had been off of backorder since last Saturday, but it never shipped. I can't believe I'm finally going to get it, after waiting so long. Now I just need to be patient while it arrives. To those of you guys who are still waiting for your phones I wish you luck in getting it soon.

I have heard no one say 7-10 business days. People that ordered on the 14th and did not get the confirmed 21st got the 14-21 business days. I don't think there is any way you got 7-10 business days. Who in the world did you talk to? It had to be someone that had no idea what they were talking about.
 
I'm trying to get a black 64GB and my local AT&T store told me that they received 6 64GB's last week and they were gone before the day was over.

He said to call next Mon, Wed and Friday and see if anymore come in.

I just wondering if I should order from AT&T site or just keep calling my local store in the next week or so.:rolleyes:

What do you think would be my best shot?:)

Well I suppose. I just meant that you aren't automatically unable to cancel an order just because it was placed online.

Oh ok. I just found a local store that has them, got fed up and made sure I could cancel, that's all :) This might be done with soon! Woot.

I was told the same thing that is why I jumped on the offer. But that was a lie.

There's no rhyme or reason to how they're filling orders. Mine still says backorder but who knows why when or how they change it really...

I'm angry, I have a right to be angry. 7 to 10 days turned in to 2 to 3 weeks. BS...
 
I think the frustration mainly comes from seeing others who ordered at the end of the month receive their phones already. I know, I know, it depends on the model... 64 and 32 gb's are going out faster...but knowing this they should've been prepared with more 16's, either that, or quoted a later time frame from the start. MANY people who initially pre-ordered were quoted a week, and that turned into 14-21 business days. And mine was at the very end of the 14-21 day period they were quoting (because it wasn't processed until the next day), so I think they lumped me in to the 21-28 day category without telling me. I wouldn't have upgraded through the site if I knew it could be as long as 28 days. I was also told that they wouldn't charge until the order ships, but I've already been charged the full amount since the day it was processed... they sure didn't hesitate taking my money...so that was a little tease, as I thought that meant they'd be shipping sooner rather than later!

AND, once hearing about the Foxconn strike, I think we all got a little worried about production, and wondering if our orders would EVER be processed......
 
I ordered on the 15th they messed up so didn't get processed til the 20th found a white 16gb at radio shack so called att to cancel the order they guy said they cant cancel it and blah blah and i said how if im still on backorder! so he transferred me to the premier number and said they can help...hmm what do you know? they are closed on Saturdays! they are very close to losing a customer

Foxxcon today denied any delay whatsoever in iPhone production, apple insider.com reports.

I think the problem is how you're looking at it. It's great that others are receiving their phones so quickly but it's not what AT&T told us from the beginning and we shouldn't expect that to be the norm.

You should definitely contact AT&T then. My card was charged immediately but it was never processed so it went away after 2-3 days. Nothing has been taken from my account, as per the AT&T rep.

I'd suggest calling in case they bill you again once your phone ships. Keep your chin up—it'll ship eventually :)

Where in the world are people getting this 7-10 days crap? No one I mean no one was told 7-10 days. Like I said before the people that ordered late one the 14th got quoted at 14-21 business days. If anyone would get a less days quote it would be those people. If you ordered anything After 1am on the 14th you got 14-21 at least.
I ordered on the 18th and was told at the earliest it would be Oct. 10 for a ship date. I have been stalking these tread in hopes that it would come sooner.

And i said um no it has said in progress since the 15th. Then she said it should be there in four days. WELL GUESS WHAT A WEEK AFTER I ORDERED IT I KEEP GETTING TOLD FOUR DAYS!!!!

Yeah I can see it being ridiculous being this mad over a phone if its only been a few days, but its been since the 15th yeah yeah i know processed on the 20th. But my uncle down the street ordered same exact one on the 15th and got his on the 21st. And I'm seeing people that ordered after the 20th getting their phones. And the fact that a phone at radioshack was being held for me but couldn't cancel the order made me 10x more mad.

Is it still on backorder according to the order status site? If so, you should be able to cancel it regardless about what she said. I would call a corporate rep.

lol the guy at radio shack just canceled it for me within 5 minutes and I'm picking it up in the morning.

Good to hear! Yeah, I just spoke with a manager at my local store that placed my order. Mine is "in progress" and I was asking about possiblly cancelling and re-ordering a 32gb if it would be faster. She said it wouldn't be so I opted not to, but she was prepared to cancel it so yeah lol, glad the Radio Shack guy knew what he was talking about (most of their reps don't in my experience).

9/18 ordered via phone, terms and conditions email arrived a few minutes after placing the order

9/20 order confirmed

10/2 phone came off backorder

10/3 received tracking number via email

10/5 received iPhone

PS. i had an iphone 4S purchased 6 months ago, was eligible for early upgrade (additional $250 + upgrade price). Called in to see what they could do about the $250. after some CALM conversations, they credited my account $250 so essentially no early upgrade fee. when i activated my iphone 5, the iphone 4s was technically off contract, so they unlocked it. if the customer service rep will not agree to waive the early upgrade fee of $250, hang up, try again. hope that helps anyone.
