18er here!!! I ordered the black iphone 5 16gb on the 18th at 1:30pm from a customer service rep! I was told it would ship on the 21st, but if it didn't then it would be 14-21 days! I took the chance anyways and my ship dates ended up being October 8th - October 17th. I just checked my status and I just came off of backorder but no tracking number yet. Tomorrows the 8th so I am hoping I will get it way before the 17th. I was really bummed when I went to the AT&T store on the 21st to get an otterbox case and saw only 4 people in line to get a phone! I could have totally got one right then and could kick myself for it!!! Oh we'll live and learn. I will def. do it differently next time! So there is hope... I thought I would never get off backorder! I feel relieved!!!! Now for the tracking number!

I did too, and mine just came off of backorder! My ship dates are October 8-17!

Sept 14-18 preorders have picked up shipping again today. Fellow poster Christybean and I have confirmed shipments today from Sept 17 preorder. You may be next up???
Hopefully this will be a good week for the 18th-19th 16 gb orders. Keeping fingers crossed. I'm a 19th 16gb orderer.

Ordered black 32gb on 9/21, went off BO on 10/3, I currently have "pending shipment" status and haven't heard anything since. This Thursday will be 21 business days AT&T.. I know where to find you, haha
"Business Days" typically refers to M-F so this coming Thursday will have been 14 business days, not including the day you ordered. I'm in the same boat, unfortunately, and my confirmation email says "21-28 business days" which puts me between 10/22-10/31.
I called AT&T to see if upgrading my white 16GB to a 32GB would put me at the back of the line and I was told that it would. He also told me to expect delivery between the dates I listed above so AT&T is in fact not counting weekends as business days.

So I'm new to the forum. I originally placed my order over the phone on the 16th, but I did not receive the confirmation email for three days, so I called them and they had my email wrong. So they eventually sent me to the manual confirmation website.
My official order date is 9/20.

Ordered 9/26 still on Backorder. I ordered one 16GB White and one 16GB Black. Was given 14-21 business days with a shipping date of October 16 - October 24. Wish they would hurry. Been without a phone since the week before the iPhone5 unveiling. Sold my 4s on ebay for $450.
Thanx Steph. Maybe they have finally ramped up production on the W16GB.......it's seems that particular model has been neglected for a while now. You shouldn't be too far away now.......then again???
I do hope you and everyone here @ MacRumors receives their orders soon. This has been utterly ridiculous!

FYI: iPhone shipped UPS 2nd Day Air. In DFW......I hope I'm not in for another wait as I've read numerous posts concerning AT&T's ineptitude in regards to giving UPS OR FedEx the shipping details.

Back to iOS after less than a year on android (Galaxy S2). Order a 32GB iPhone 5 Slate on apple.com and is estimated to arrive Nov. 9th.
so finally my 32gb black shipped today and will be here on 9th.
but blk 16 is still backordered.

I've been following this forum for a few days. After reading all of your comments I know I made a huge mistake ordering thru AT&T!!! I ordered a white 16gb iphone 5 on 9-14 @ 2:00pm they say my order was processed on the 19th, still on backorder! Tried to cancel, they couldn't cancel the order. So, I'm stuck in limbo like everybody else! We are so screwed #

So I'm jumping this ship too. People who ordered before me haven't even come off BO yet, so screw this! I cancelled my AT&T order on Saturday morning and am trying to reserve at Apple for next day pick up. My local store still hasn't had what I want available, if I was willing to drive 2 hours I'd have the thing by now. But at least I know that sometime over the next few nights I'll have my reserve, the phone the next day, and won't have to wait anymore!
So good luck to those of you still waiting for that God forsaken B-1 to go away, or for UPS. I hope your frustration ends soon

Me too. Was excited when people's 16gb whites ordered on the 17th were getting shipping info, but for mine still nothing...
I've tried to cancel by phone & I went into the AT&T store, they tried to cancel but claim they can't!!! Thanks for the info, I will try again & I'll ask for a manager
