ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Anyone who is planning on getting a 32 or 64 through the AT&T site will have no problem, you'll probably only have to wait about a week. If you're getting a 16gb, either don't do it or be prepared to wait a looooong time. I feel sorry for those who just ordered 🙁 They really do tease you when it is processed, with the whole "congratulations" spiel.

Btw, still on BO. Ordered 20th.

Yep you were right! I just received my tracking number this morning after coming off backorder yesterday and it says it will be here tomorrow via fed-ex! I'm glad they kept their word about giving me free priority shipping!!!

I ordered a white 16 and a white 32 on the 1st. The 32 is shipping today. No tracking # yet. I think the 16 will ship too though since its held on my CC as well.

Edit. Tracking # showed up for the 32, 16 shows as processing, should get a # soon. I'm a happy camper.

So if I order a 64GB black from AT&T today I should have it within a week?
 
I am eligible for a full upgrade on Nov.13, but I got the full upgrade 45 days early by having it waived over the phone by an At&t supervisor.

I placed a pre order on 10/1 and I will reach 21 buisness days on the 29th,
My 16 gb Black iphone 5 order better get here before my real eligibility date or At&t really blows and I could just walk in and buy a phone by the 2nd week of Nov.

Anyone know how fast shipping is once it's shipped?

Ordered 16gb black the evening of 9/19...still on BO. Reading that orders from 9/18 went off backorder yesterday is giving me hope that this one will move soon.

I'm cursing my dad that he didn't have me order his when I ordered ours on preorder day. I'm having to go through order-stalking hell TWICE!

Ive been reading a lot of people on here have been getting their white 32gb's shipped after that date, but dont know if ive seen blacks off BO after 9/21...

I ordered via att telesales, just the general 800 number on 9/25 around 2pm CST, and processed within the hour.

I did order a USB Car Charger on the same order. So it may be that just the car charger shipped today. But, I also ordered Car Chargers with the other 3 iPhones. They held the chargers and shipped them at the same time, and in the same box as, the iPhone 5's. Assume that they would do the same for this order. I will come back and post one way or the other on Monday.

As for the charging before it ships. Mine is a business account and all hardware upgrades are added on to our corporate account. But I can tell you that it sometimes take extra billing cycles before the charges show up. Most likely due to shipping dates being close to the billing date, or something similar. So that makes it seem like they do not charge until it ships.

I can confirm that the 64 Gb White is in stock on the Premiere website. I ordered one on Friday and received it today. But Black 64 Gb are still back ordered.

I'm pretty sure that red87 something user ordered like the same day a me and they got their phone already. I don't know, we just wanted our dang phones already, haha. I was quoted a week and a half, so let's so if they're slightly accurate in me going off BO.

They sent mine UPS 2nd Day Air as promised also.

............So, Sept 14-18 White 16GB are seeing movement now.
 
Still patiently waiting to come off BO... Order date 9/18 white 16... Anyone with a simlar order & date getting theirs? I'm going to wait a couple days then call. I didn't want to be a complainer but this is getting a bit ridiculous! I'd cancel but I work 6 days a week and the closest store is an hour drive... I just figured I would rather just have it shipped even with the wait but now I'm getting frustrated! I mean 4 days after the start of pre-ordering I ordered my phone... Not a week, not a month, 4 days!

Agh, it's been a stressful morning. After failing to find any retailer with any 32/64GB black iPhones.
I decided to call AT&T and just place my order.
Last month a case was escalated and they granted me the ability to upgrade my phone at 12 months into my contract (Oct 8th).
I call today and they rep said she could not find my case, she comes back and said her manager is willing to over ride the upgrade today but not for an Apple product...

WTF???

A couple weeks ago I stopped by a AT&T store to pick up a sim card for a temporary 1st gen iPhone Id be using until I could upgrade.
While I was there I spoke to the rep at the store about my case and he said he seen the notes on the account.
I went today and he remembered me, his manager did an over-ride and allowed me to upgrade today.
I ordered a 32GB black iPhone 5. Should be here in 2-3 weeks.

It got processed on the 18th. I accepted the terms and conditions that I got in my e-mail while I was on the phone with the rep. and he confirmed that they got them and put the order through. It has said processing ever since until 2 days ago I noticed it said under tracking number pending shipment, then I went off backorder yesterday and received a tracking number this morning!

Can't say for sure, but that seems to be the trend and I've been following this thread for a while...under 2 weeks for sure, even though they've been quoting 2-3 weeks. Most people who have ordered after me (20-21st) that ordered 32 or 64 have received them already.
 
I have been stalking this site for awhile now... So now it's time to post my story. I ordered on the 15, after the order was cancelled by ATT 3 times (they claim a glitch in the system)the order processed the 19th and still on backorder. This morning I decided to call ATT and ask the status because I get conflicting info from the website. One day it's back ordered, a few hours later its not and this has gone on for 2 weeks. Well, I was told it may ship Nov. 3rd. Of course I came unglued and asked to speak to a supervisor, was told the wait to speak to one is about 30 minutes. The rep goes on to say "we are sorry that you have experienced so many problems but unfortunately there is nothing we can do". Well NEWSFLASH.... How about you get my phone shipped!!!!!
I don't begrudge any one getting their phone but people ordering theirs within the last week are getting their phone..... really?

Ordered 64GB black on 9/21 off BO 10/3... got my tracking number today! Does anyone know if we have to sign for the package (from UPS)?? I'll be at work..
