I just checked my credit card again. My charges are only pending. I ordered at 8:00 a.m. EST on 9/14/2012 and my order status shows ordered on 9/15/2012 with processing as the status. No numbers for shipped, backordered, or anything else except for quantity.
 
I ordered my iphone5 online through the AT&T website around 630 EST and have a FAN so my order was placed through the Premiere Account. As soon as it went through my order said pending. At no point did any pending or full charges show up on my credit card. When I checked Saturday morning I had the dreaded "Action" status on my account and it would not show up through my normal AT&T account.

About 5 minutes ago when I checked (~1015 pm EST) it changed to "processing", my credit card had the full charge applied to it and it now shows up on my AT&T account page.

Happy to see some progress here, and even though the status said action, I took none and things seem to be progressing. Who knows when it will show up though.
 
Many "Premier Customers" can order directly from Apple. It is very easy to check. Just go to this Apple Eligiblity Status page and if you can access your AT&T status then you can order from Apple.com or an Apple retail store.

Thanks for this. I know I sound like I'm trying to be optimistic but take that convo with a grain of salt. My guess is the reps don't see any more information than we can on our order page and it is so easy for the date thing to get messed up. AT&T on Friday said the phone would come out on Friday which means at least SOME people will get their phone on Friday. The ships Friday thing just doesn't make sense. An uninformed manager could tell his/her team something like "just make everyone feel better that their phone will ship on Friday" and what they mean is RECIEVE on Friday but the reps are drones and just repeat what they are told. In my line of work I see it constantly.
 
Even if AT&T tried to charge someone's card on the weekend. I think very few banks would actually post those charges. Especially on a Sunday. I spoke to Chase by phone yesterday to make sure that they knew that my iphone purchase was not a fraudulent purchase. And they had stated that my card had been authorized and that is it. But that even if AT&T tried to actually charge my account, it would not even post till at the earliest sometime on Monday. So i am going to have to keep checking my account tomorrow to see if any charges have gone through, or are still pending.

Don't mean to be the spoiler but they don't have a clue about Premier. Can't see accounts. Go to Premier site and get phone number as they are not closed. I have talked to 4 reps and all confirm 14 to 21 days and were able to access my account. I ordered 715 am est. those of you who have had cc charged are probably ok but ALL Premier with a 1 in back order status and no charge can expect delivery between 10/4 and later. I got email initially with 9/21 but nothing more and no charge.
 
I placed my order at 2:03AM CST and my order is STILL showing backordered.

There are people that ordered after me that are no longer on backorder.

I will be highly upset if somehow they messed up my order and I will not receive it on the 21st.

I am NOT a premier customer and my CC has pending charges. I received both e-mails and nothing should be holding my order back (no attention e-mail).

Hopefully something will change being tomorrow is Monday.

Frustrated. :confused:

I'm premier, have a charge, but have the back order. What does that mean?! Ordered at 6:45am.

He said premier and non-premier were all shipping on 9/21. I take almost everything with a grain of salt these days. I didn't ask him anything specific about my account becuase he couldn't see it....but regardless.......my backorder just changed from 1 to 0. That has to be good....right?

I ordered at the same time. Still Qty Backordered = 1. But that gives me hope I might have a phone this friday, and not in 3-4 weeks. (I sold and shipped off my iphone 4 on Saturday).
 
To premiers with the backorder, where do you see that? My order status page (the one that came in the confirmation) only says that I am processesing. (Ordered around 6:20EST on the 14th)

FYI...I know this is the ATT thread but I also ordered one through the Apple store and under my devices/profile I can see the serial number of that one. Still haven't received a shipping notification but per the UPS trick and now the SN# check it's on it's way.

The first round, and most/all rounds of pre-order shipments until production is caught up won't hit AT&T's warehouse. They will be shipped directly from China. If you are in the first round, 9/21 is the date of delivery, not of shipping.

I ordered just before 6a EST. I got my email confirmation at 6:13a. (Just to give an estimate of when I ordered)
 
I am Premier customer. I also had to wait till the Premier website got back online. So i ordered my white iphone 16gb around 4-5ish central time. I came back from smoking a cigarette and I am no longer on backorder. So i assume those ppl from AT&T do not know what they are talking about. Plus i think this is def progress!!!!

Blah blah blah

Sorry, but these reps know absolutely nothing. My email doesn't say "Your iPhone will be shipping on 9/21", it says "Your iPhone 5 will be delivered on 9/21/12."

Calling or chatting with these reps is A WASTE OF TIME, because they don't really know how these launches work. The company is so huge with such horrible internal communication, that you could speak to ten reps and they would all tell you ten different things.
