Update, Ordered white 16GB and white 32 GB late on 10/1. Order processed and showed online on 10/2. 32GB shipped today, arriving tomorrow. 16GB shipping tomorrow arriving the next day. Boom!

How is the crap are you getting a 16g now. There are thousands of us on the forum that ordered way before you that are still on backorder. I order the sep 18th processed on the 20th. This is so much crap. I am very happy for the people that get there phone if they ordered before me or at the same time, but people like you upset me. You have no business getting your 16g yet and should have to wait weeks for your phone. You waited and ordered late no reason anyone should be rewarded for that. Not at all happy for you.
 
Gotta love UPS definition of 2nd day air. Shipped on Saturday, but arriving Wednesday.

My sentiments exactly. Mine Shipped Sunday and will arrive Wednesday. That's why I cringed abit when notified it would UPS. FedEx is so much faster, in my experience anyway.
Anyway, I'm just relieved that I finally get mine after almost a month of waiting.

WOW, this is great for you! I ordered my 32GB -white on the 15th, processed on the 19 and still on backorder. :(:confused:

Look I don't have a problem with waiting. My issue is that people like this guy who wait and are late to the game and I getting phones shipped that we pre ordered freaking pre ordered. It seems that you must have ordered late too because you would be mad if this happened to you too.

And it is very different from people who went and stood in line for one. They took a risk and had to wait in line. That is what us pre orders wanted to avoid. This guy just waited and ordered and had nothing to lose. I mean apple is telling people that order right now they will have to wait 3-4. This is crap someone gets a phone when apple want even do it. Att has messed to whole thing up. So I have every right to be mad at someone that ordered late and got their phone in what 3 days. I am not going to be happy at all. I know more people feel the same way I do.

I get it, I really do, but I'm not going to blame people who ordered late. I blame apple who switched from first come first serve to region and availability shipping. I wasn't going to get one until January but my phone literally doesn't work anymore (blackberry, go figure) so I had to order some phone the day it broke. That's why I ordered October 1. I really hope the preorders get filled first but don't get pissed if someone gets theirs before you. It's not their fault. It is frustrating, but I can't even call people right now. That's pretty frustrating too.

It's like getting in a car accident and getting mad at the car, not the guy driving. What about those people that cancelled their orders and did apple in store pickup the next day? They're possibly bypassing you. Like i said it is frustrating and unfair but being mad at the people who ordered is childish and unreasonable
 
I ordered a white 16gb on sept 14. I recieved and accepted terms and conditions that evening Order did not process until the 18th. Nothing has changed. It has said pending shipping and back order 1 since then.

Don't blame UPS. They do not run on Sundays so your order wasn't picked up until today. Wednesday is two days from now, just like they guarantee. The shipper can print the label (and subsequently notify you with a tracking number) but that does not mean the package has actually gone anywhere.

The same thing most likely happened to the guy getting shipping info on a Saturday.
 
Hmmm I agree mostly with Brounmoney. To many of us (those of us that have ordered more than 2 weeks ago) this is unfair and have a right to be angry about it. Although... I don't blame the customer, I blame AT&T and Apple. I am happy for him that he received his phones...HOWEVER I don't think he should come on here and gloat about it. If I only ordered on the 1st I wouldn't even be on this thread expecting my phone already.

Well I am just saying I am not happy for them. Your blackberry broke ok guess what you can go on ebay and get a phone. Yes it sucks your phone broke but that does not changed the fact people are getting phones before people.

Also please don't tell me you believe the crap said by a CR. Them saying apple is not doing first come first serve the CR agent is just passing the blame. That is just not true at all. If anyone is going out of order as we can see it is att.

Oh and the people that cancel and go to the apple store that does not make me mad. Those phones are stock for the store. Now I never never thought it was right for apple to sell phones in store on release day before they fill pre orders but that is the way apple works. It seems that apples stock for in store and orders on line are different.

Also I'm not on here complaining about my phone, I was merely giving an example of why us lowly losers might have ordered not preorder. Also, saw the thread and noticed there are issues with shipping so I was intrigued, apologize for logging in and reading.

I will say this about blackberry users, a lot nicer on forums than apple users.

The Apple Store here are getting shipments daily, but they don't know which phones they will get which days... so I think I'll just keep checking each day when I walk by to see. They told me I could check the reservation system to know ahead of time what they got. If I can find one, I'll just cancel my AT&T order since it'll be another month waiting on them.

Called a local AT&T store just now, and was told that the order was in a "picking status" (not sure what that means) at the warehouse. Said I should receive a shipping notice in the next few days.

ATT status still says pending with BO of 1.

My status:
Oct 1 (night) - Ordered over the phone.
Oct 2 (morning) - Accepted terms and agreement which started the order process.
Oct 8 (morning) - Off from back-ordered to shipped, UPS tracking # provided, 2-day air. Hope it arrives Wed.

Originally ordered through apple's website right at pre-order time. Long story short: I had to cancel my apple order...reservations with Sam's Club...Sam's Club 7-10 business days delay...Took my chances for incoming shipments at AT&T and Apple stores for a walk in purchase, no luck...gave up and ordered on Oct 1. This is for a white 32GB for the wife. I do have a premiere account, but not sure and don't think it matters. On a side note, I got lucky, got my black 32GB in-store walk-in AT&T Sep 23.

Your partially right. However, there is still movement of packages whether it is via ground or air. Just because its the weekend doesn't mean packages magically stop transit. UPS just doesn't deliver on the weekend. FedEx delivers on Saturdays, which is why I use them often.

The phone was actually delivered or picked up by UPS in DFW and arrived at DFW Airport and shipped out. All on Sunday.
