I used the stock locator on their website as well and noticed a few local Walmarts had them in stock as well. I will go there tomorrow to check it out since I live around the corner from you and need to return something anyhow.

I just found out the Best Buy in Lake Forest has 10 AT&T phones available:
1 white 16GB
7 black 16GB
2 black 64GB
Its a first come, first serve basis so need to probably hurry.
I am sure it would be no problem to cancel your preorder and just walk out with one of those phones available.

Checked Walmart and they had a white 16gb in stock. Called AT&T and once again since mine was an "early early upgrade" the only way I can order is through AT&T over the phone.

9/21 Orders and beyond
Hmm... I kinda think that once they start covering the 9/21 orders, this process should speed up a bit, seeing the scores of people that went the in store route the first weekend of availability, 9/21 - 9/23. Maybe that could hypothetically translate to a slight decrease of online, web, telephone traffic, more inventory, and speedier order processing times for that weekend?
And I'm not just saying cause I ordered my curently BO 1 wht 16gb on 9/22 or anything...

AT&T stock seems to be going rather slow though. There's Verizon and Sprint phones everywhere. I thought Apple can make like a 100,000 phones in 10 hours /exaggeration If not this week, I hope next week brings some better news for us 32GB'ers because we got the impression that it was going to go by pretty fast because it isn't as popular of a model as the 16GB.

Upgrade swap and he said that if I ordered today he can waive the overnight shipping fee and send me the phone I would have it in 2 days. I was not sure how correct that info was so I said to will call later.

I was joking around and put an order in on Thursday 4-Oct @ 10pm. It showed shipped friday and i got Tuesday. Sorry to those who are queued up. Is it because i ordered a 64GB model vs a 16GB model from ATT which may have more demand. Loving it so far.

Totally. I think you start reading these threads for a glimmer of hope that you're going to luck out and beat the timeline you were originally given. You see some of your model moving and you think you'll be sooner than you're told. I've kind of given up on that at this point. It seems like I'm going to get this thing exactly when I was told, within 14-21 business days (which is BS, nobody measures business days this way, they're just padding the number without wanting to throw the word "month" around or say what they should be saying which is "4-6 weeks"). Strap in, it's going to take as long as it takes. If they exceed the timeline then complain, if not, whatever. Sigh, I just want my freaking phone...

We're in the same boat, unfortunately. I agree with the above post that we'll most likely get them when we were originally quoted, which is just under two weeks from now

I ordered a black 16gb iPhone 5 on 9/21 :c I talked to a CSR and I got told that all shipments from this day and on take a while! and she also said that they can even exceed to november :'c I'm taking my chances tomorrow and canceling. I think ill rather be lucky with apple's reserve shipment c: they receive several shipments every week
Eh. I've played around on one a few times, and while it is much faster and better looking than my iPhone 4, I can wait it out. I would prefer they ship it out asap but there's too much effort involved with canceling and trying to locate one.
I stopped by an AT&T store yesterday because it was next door to where I was eating lunch. The lady told me they get about 5 per day and they've all been 64GB versions this past week and they sell out almost immediately.
