An someone please explain why I ordered from ATT my wifes phone (16GB WHT) and the pending charge had $52 of tax based on $650 value.



I just reserved an Iphone apple.com 32GB WHT and only paid $23? Anyone address this issue?! Why did I pay twice as much with att for a 16GB than apple.com?

This footnote is from my Apple invoice:
*In CA, MA and RI sales tax is collected on the unbundled price of the iPhone.

I've been reading for the last 10 days.....
I ordered 9/21, the white 16gb, still on pending.....
Went ahead and waited online on the Apple website and did the in store pick up for one of the white 32's as soon as it showed stock.
I'll be calling AT&T on the 444 # to cancel....

Not sure but I don't know why At&t gave us free shipping on one of our 16gb but not the other, I had 2 seperate orders. 10/1 the black 16gb came out to $255 total after tax and on 10/2 the white 16gb was $255 + $10 as we paid $10 for the 2nd iphones shipping. I am a CA resident. After calling At&t a few times I found they have mix of employees, some who will help you save money while others are just rude.
 
Yes, it comes with a lightning -> USB cable. It also comes with the standard iPhone plug as with the previous-generation iPhones, and the new Earpods.
Thanks! Why is it then that people are buying extra lightning-USB cables?

Actually I've heard that the standard generic chargers and lightning ports don't always fit with the ip5 even though they say it's made for ip5.

Anyone who ordered in store or is able to cancel their order, DO IT. I ordered on 9/23, got fed up, canceled, reserved with apple that night and got my iPhone 5 next day in store!! It's worth the trouble to do, trust me

Plus, my iPhone is perfect. Had it for a week now and there's 0 flaws.

I would except for the mere fact that my local Apple Store hasn't shown any 32GB blacks in for a week now.
 
Idk what happened. But I ordered a 16 GB black iPhone 5. On September 21st online and processed the same day. I called and the CSR told me to expect shipping between October 11-22. Well recently I tried checking to see if my iPhone was still on BO. Well the site isn't showing my order. I even tried the order status number and couldn't find my order. If my order was cancelled. I would be extremely agitated cuz I already waited 3 weeks. Has anyone else suffered this?

OK scratch that lol. Its fixed. Got scared for a second. God I'm waiting so patiently for my iPhone. Hopefully it ships Monday

What about the 32GB blacks? I ordered mine 10/3 and still on backorder.. :p

I have no idea what the deal is with the Black 32's. I can only speak for me and my girlfriend. We both got white 32's on the same day and it came in one week. Sorry that you are still BO but the Black model for every size is more popular than the white. You should be seeing movement soon though, the rep at the AT&T store said that by mid Oct (nowish), supplies should be catching up. You will have your phone soon and trust me it is beyond worth it. Good luck!

Hope the rep is right. It's about mid October now and I'd hate to wait another 3 weeks. My sister has a white 16gb on order since 10/1 and its still on backorder as well.

Same here. My brother black 32 ip5 is still in BO after a week and a half.

Black is taking a little longer, at least thats what they told me on my local att store.
 
Does AT&T normally send an email out when your phones are off of backorder or does everyone keep checking AT&T's website constantly? Just curious. Still waiting on mine. Ordered 9/23 - 16GB black and a 16GB white.
 
Still my WHT 16 on back order. Ordered 9/20. The att tool-site was not displaying my order last night so I made the call to CS. They actually were very nice. Told me my phone should ship 10/10---10/19. They then gave me a 25$ credit for being patient WOW!! That took the sting out...
 
White 16 still on BO, ordered 20th but didn't get processed til the early morning hours of 21st.

10/4 - 32gb ships, 16gb still pending shipment
10/5 - 32gb delivers, 16gb order status changes to cancelled
10/12 - forced to REORDER the 16gb and be pushed to the back of the line. I'm so pissed. I called 5 times throughout the week and was told that the 16gb was on hold for me until the mistake was cleared up. On 10/12, I call again and they tell me it's cancelled for good and that all I can do is reorder it and start from scratch. The AT&T guys claim no responsibility for screwing up whatsoever. I wasn't accepting 'reordering the phone' as a proper solution but what can I do? There's nobody I can talk to besides the same CS team that only has the power to restart the order.

For those wondering why I don't just go to an Apple store and say "f u AT&T", a manager overrided my upgrade eligibility when I originally ordered the phone. This can only be done with phone orders. I'm in the worst place to be for being screwed over because the CSRs think they're doing me a favor by reordering the phone at the same price and completely disregard the fact that my order was cancelled for no reason just moments before it was supposed to be shipped to me.

Yes having AT&T do an override upgrade sucks. You can't really complain about anything because they say they're doing a favor. :( that's really odd that it was cancelled. I hope mine doesn't cancel for no reason, if so ill just give up and order in 3 months or just get an s3.
