ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Really? This is the first time I order from ATT, always use Apple before.
So, did you got your tracking number yet?

For those that ordered through the Premier site on 9/14 and see 9/15 on the regular site, it's because that date reflects when it was last updated.
At least, that's what it tells me when I click on the link through my phone. It gives a different status screen showing "Last updated."

Yes, I got the mail too. But I using the online chat on at&t web site about 1.5 hr ago, and their representative tell me that they will SHIP on 9/21 I will receive a email notification on that day with my tracking number.
Ordered from AT&T around 4am EST on the 14th. Original confirmation email stated:

This blows, for me it sucks because it will break my stupid tradition of getting the new iPhone on the first day every year than it is about gotta have first day to play with. I'm hoping it's a glitch. I called them and they have no clue what the hell is up with it, they don't even know if they can cancel my order. Although, I'm not sure I would since I am done with waiting in long lines. Almost $900 for it, and having the guy on the phone guaranteed it was in stock when I ordered, this upsets me a bit.
What is weird is that it did say back ordered as 1 earlier now it says 0 and shipment pending. If I log into my account it still just says processing. So confused.
Oh well, I just need to remember...it's just a gadget. But damn, I think my streak is broken, no first day this time.

so here's my situation- i ordered a 32GB black iPhone 5 at around 11:55pm right before it went officially on sale for pre order at midnight. for some reason the AT&T website let me through. I could not type in my email for some reason, but received an order number and a shipping estimate of 9/21. I called AT&T at 7:30am on 9/14 to see if I could give them an email so I could complete the order. They said they'd have to cancel the order and do it again in order to properly enter my email. I reordered the iPhone over the phone, and got the "your order has been processed" text at 9:48am on Friday and I accepted my terms and conditions at 8:19am. My confirmation email shows a shipping estimate of 14-21 days. Do you guys think I'll get mine on Friday or Saturday? My status page says quantity 1 backordered and the order status is in progress.
Side note- its very annoying AT&T wont let you change the shipping address. I am a student and no longer live at the billing address, and my family will be away while if the phone is delivered during those Oct. dates...

FYI: I ordered from AT&T Premier at 5:20am Central on the 14th. The ATT website and email link both still say "Processing". The pending charge on my credit card was up within a few hours of the order, I think. Sometime on the 14th for sure.

Look, I know it's fun to see all the details unfold here, but believe me, as a launch-day veteran of every iphone and ipad ever (multiples each time and each one that was pre-order-able) if they said it'll show up on 9/21, it will show up on 9/21. Talking to one rep or another won't help - you're communicating with people who barely know more than you (less in many cases). If you made the cutoff, it'll show up... it has every other time, and believe me, I've obsessed over it

That said, I ordered at 3:41a (pacific) and both Premier (aka second class customers) orders are on pending shipment and backorder. I'll get nervous over the week, but they'll inevitably show up Friday morning.

Quoting so that maybe 1 more person will see it! Yes yes yes! Ive ordered every iPhone since the 3G and got every last one on launch day and witnessed this cluster ***** of speculation and panic before every single launch. Relax people!
I believe it will arrive if you ordered before the cut off like they said but my concern is that one word "Ordered". I am hopeful it does go by when you placed the order and your credit card payment was approved and you got an order #.

I haven't gotten a tracking number yet for the 5, but I got it a day or two before the 4S and it shipped Overnight with FedEx.
Just in case it helps, I ordered a 4S a few hours after the supposed cutoff time for the first batch, but I still got it on release day last year.
Great, appreciate your information. I got my confirmation email 3 minutes after than the initial "AT&T Big event " started. Hopefully can get it on launch day.
Just got off the phone with a rep from AT&T. They told me that anyone that ordered before 11:47am (I'm guessing ET?) on the 14th made it in time to get their phone on the 21st. All orders after that were pushed back on a weekly basis, I ordered at 2:35pm and my expected delivery is between 10/4-10/15.
I also asked about the T&C email. Apparently I completed it online with my order. They said I was the first order they saw with a tracking number so they looked into it and I was all set, now just waiting for the phone to come in.
But are the phones really sold out? When they explained about orders being pushed back on a weekly basis they mentioned shipping batches, as if they have the phones ready they are just slowly going to send them out in batches. Anyone else hear anything like this?

when you say through the phone you mean you actually talked to someone and didnt just click through menus on att's site?
Ordered directly from AT&T? Online or via phone? Also, are you a regular or a premier customer?
newbie here! has anyone gotten a tracking number or their order processed? my bank account for the transaction still says Pending and on the at&t website its still blank with no new updated information. help?
I had the 2GB plan as well and online they said I had to pick a new one - switche dto 3GB. I also have the 200 texts for $5 plan which apparently no longer exists but they didn't make me pick a new one. Not sure about that one.
3GB and 200 text for $5 would be about perfect for me, so hopefully that's what it really ends up being.
