I woke up today to see if my card has been charged instead of the hold and no. Apple has me by my short and curlies. I only have enough money for the phone this week. If i wait till Wed or Thurs and cancel my preorder cause i haven't heard anything by then. Chase said that hold Apple put on my account might not drop off in enough time to have the money to stand in line Friday and purchase the item in a store. So basically i am stuck. Not much i can do but wait till later this week and hope that my item ships.
 
I got on Apple's site just after midnight Pacific Time on the 14th. I didn't order because I didn't understand the $36 charge. So, went through AT&T but not until 7:30am. on the 14th.

My 64GB white is currently showing status: In Progress, but quantity back-ordered = 1.

So, I will get it, when I get it. I'm not in that big of a hurry as I don't want to pay $30 for an adapter. I'd rather get new peripherals instead.

The charging plug is not a big deal to me. I have a bluetooth speaker thingy that i can use to broadcast my music through my speakers in the car. And i have a car charger for my 4s. But i am not spending $30 for an adapter. I would rather just buy a new car charger. And i don't have any other accessories for my phone.

Depends on which site you look at. One just says processing. The other actually says backordered "1".

I have a question. I know that apple orders and AT&T orders show up differently, which is why Apple customers can view their shipping info and we cant till maybe later this week. But shouldn't we be able to at least see it show up on our apple profile even if we cannot see the shipping till AT&T sends us that info? Or is that a perk for Apple.com customers also?
 
I ordered at 3:03 am est on 9/14 and my order is in backorder and my card has already been charged. I got an email saying it would be delivered on the 21st but I'm not sure if I am even in the first batch anymore....
 
I don't think any black 64s ordered from AT&T are out of backorder.

Hopefully they start to go off of backorder today and mine goes out for Friday even though I had to order at 4:30 pm CST on Friday

Apple registers the phones when they ship. I guess it could be considered a "perk". The Support Profile site isn't necessarily intended as a site to see when your iPhone will ship. :) AT&T is not Apple and is more worried about getting the product to the customer than worrying if Apple's registration database is accurate. Apple on the other hand wants to know everything their customer owns to better serve them.

Apple is a lot more transparent about shipping and they ship much earlier since some of their products come right from the factory.

So worrying about backorder status Five days before delivery is probably not practical. But then again, who knows? :)

Yeah i hear you. Although this is my first preorder. And i got to say AT&T needs a better system in place. Right now AT&T can't tell me for sure if I will get my phone this week or whether it will be in October. Other than to say, dont worry we will email you eventually when it goes out. And when that is? Who knows? So i do not like that aspect. They may not be able to pinpoint the exact date i get the phone. But they should know better by now an approximate date. I do like the way Apple is clearer every step of the way of where it is, and what happens next.
 
Upon checking mine this morning it still says Pending Shipment but there was a QTY of 1 under Back-ordered on each item on my pre-order list. Now there is not.
 
What is the number for autos taus order line for Premier?

I say dont call. It seems that many reps are either telling you that you're good as long as you made the 12pm cut off or that you're hosed because preorders sold out within an hour.
 
I ordered 4 iPhone 5, 16GB from AT&T Premier at around 11:20AM EST and 11:28AM EST, they were been ******s and wouldn't let me order all 4 at the same time so I ordered them 2 in one order and 2 on another.

I got emails from both orders immediately, and both have pending charges on my cc.

weird thing is that on the first order the email says:
"Your iPhone has been reserved and should arrive as soon as Sept 21, 2012."

the second email says:
"If you ordered an iPhone 5, your device will ship in approximately 14 - 21 business days. All other devices will be shipped in 2-3 business days."

both order statuses say Preorder Processing

so I hope at least the first order arrives on the 21st because my phone is in that order haha!
 
Ordered through Premier 8:24am EST, 9/14. Got an order received email immediately saying, "Your iPhone has been reserved and should arrive as soon as Sept 21, 2012." CC didn't get charged until 9/15 sometime late after midnight; full charge for phones. Not sure what to expect now, still backordered.
 
I ordered at around 2 PM on Friday. I don't have any shipping info but my card has been billed. Even when I log onto the ATT site and check "my orders" it doesn't show up there. So I have no idea what the hell is going on. 64GB Black/slate.
 
I just called AT&T and they told me that my iPhone 5 64gb Black was going to be shipped on the 21st so I may receive it on Monday or Tuesday. That's weird I thought that it would be here on the 21st.
 
I preordered in store at 8 AM Friday. Here is my current status based on a chat with ATT.com this morning.

Teresa: Thank you for your recent order. Order number XXXXXXXX is processing since the date of shipment starts on September 21, 2012 for all iPhone5 orders. The scheduled shipment date is 10/04/2012 To 10/15/2012
Teresa: Once your order has been shipped from our warehouse, you will receive an e-mail with the carrier information and Tracking Number.
Robert: So I shouldn't expect it to ship till Oct 4th - Oct 15th?
Teresa: Correct, I do apologize but because of supply and demand on the pre-orders.
Teresa: Your device has been ordered during a special pre-order event. Pre-ordered devices are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. We will notify you by e-mail when your device has shipped from our warehouse.
Robert: Ok, thank you.
Teresa: You are welcome.

So I looks like this order is a couple of weeks out. Maybe I should have preordered at Walmart :rolleyes:
 
Charge gone

Order a black 32GB on Friday via AT&T site (non premier) at 9:26 EST. I received the email & confirmation text, and my debit card was charged the full amount ( $320 w/tax). Yesterday, I checked the status and it is pending shipment and 1 backordered.

I just checked my bank account, and the the $320 charge is gone.... ???

I ordered about 30 minutes before you and have the same result, except my credit card went to pending instead of an actual charge.
 
It's actually all rather amusing. All we know for sure is that we ordered phones and eventually will get them.

I need to make changes to my service, but I'm concerned that if I do it before the phone ships it will somehow jack up my order.

:/ Hopefully I get it in time. I don't have a phone with me now and it's pretty weird.

I tried to track from UPS and FEDEX but nothing.
