Still 'Processing', which I take to be like saying it's 'warm'... I guess I'll wait like everyone else. Wish I had waited I guess, but too late now.

Anyone thinking of going 'nekud' with their new iPhone that used a case before? Some of the 'new' cases look so lame...
 
I ordered mine 9:26 EST (non Premier). Got charged full amount shortly after on my debit card. Just checked account this morning, and the charge disappeared. Order status says "1" under Back-Ordered. You think I have any chance of getting it this Friday? [32GB Black]

You probably used a visa/mc bank card, so that charge that you saw was actually an 'authorization' that will be later used to charge the full amount. Thats why it has 'disappeared' as the full amount has not been charged yet. Unless you see the full amount get charged by Friday, it is 'unlikely' you will get it friday. So lets hope the charge shows up soon :)

dont worry about that too much. That wont stop your order from being processed. Once the phone gets here and you activate it, login to your att account 24 hours later and make sure all the plans/data stuff looks good. :)

Back to topic, I am taking the fact I don't show backordered as a good thing even is it still shows processing and my credit card charge is still pending.

I ordered my iPhone 5 (white, 16gb) around 8:30am EST on Friday, and immediately received an email stating that "Your iPhone 5 will be delivered on 9/21/12/". I also have a pending charge for the full amount, and received a text later that day that told me my order was processed.

Well I just chatted with a rep at AT&T and got some bad news. Apparently they will only be shipping on the 21st. Here's the transcript:

Carl: I do show that your order is set to ship out on September 21, 2012.
Me: I received an email saying that I would receive the item on Sept 21.
Carl: I do apologize, we are receiving the device on the 21st and then we will be shipping them out that day.
Me: Ok, so there is no chance to receive the item on the 21st?
Carl: You will receive the device 1 - 2 business days after the 21st of this month.


Oh well, at least I'll probably get it Monday.

AT&T Chat reps really don't know anything about it. They will arrive on the 21st like they have every year

I don't trust that. I think they have no idea what they're talking about. Multiple people have gotten different answers from them. I fully expect the early AT&T preorders to get delivered on the 21st, providing they made it in on time. It doesn't make sense for them to schedule it that way, only to deliver a day or two after everyone else (ie, Apple preorders).
 
I still havent received an email from AT&T as of yet, I pre ordered on release day at 3:00 est. I got the confirmation page and a $1.00 pending charge on my credit card but no email about shipping time or delivery. What should I do?? :confused:

lol, I dont think so. They are not getting shipment day of release just to turn around and ship them back out. That would be a very inefficient shipping process for such a high volume item. The phones are already sitting somewhere ready to go out.

If the charge to your card settles and is not just a pending charge, you will get it Friday, I am very certain. If you do get it Monday, it is not because they received it on the 21st and needed another day, it is due to supply/demand. I could be wrong of course, we will see.
 
AT&T's vagueness when it comes to order status is causing a lot of MR members to fret for no reason.

I can only speak to the people who pre-ordered within the first 3 or 4 hours after 12 am PST. As long as your payment is cleared with no issues, I'm very confident you'll receive your iPhone 5 on the 21st. End of story. Chill out.

(Stop hanging on every word from the AT&T reps. If you haven't noticed already in this thread, they tend to be misinformed and stating things that will not come to fruition.)
 
looks like I was charged for my two phones ... but att still says pending processing, haha...guess i'll just wait!

When I ordered mine (premier), I was told I would recieve it on the 24th. I talked to AT&T and I was told ALL orders are being shipped on Friday for Monday delivery. We'll see.
 
Just got off the phone with ATT Premier support. Apparently the order I placed at 6:30am on Friday did not go through (it is still in pending status when I check online). The CSR told me he could place a new order for me, but it would be probably 3 weeks after the 21st that I saw a phone.

ATT, your service is bad, and you should feel bad.

nothing. Relax and enjoy your week, you will most probably have it Friday. But I would expect for that charge to settle for the full amount soon
 
Guys, don't listen to the customer service people. They don't know what's going on and are largely making things up. I've preordered every iPhone from AT&T (via Premier, no less) since the 3G, and they all have shipped to me by launch day. The back order status tended to change right before shipping. They've never started shipping ON launch day; they've always shipped ahead of time. So either they changed their policies this year to upset everyone, or they're doing what they already have done for years.

Just be patient. If you made it in in the morning, and your email referred to shipping on or by 9/21, you'll most likely get it on the 21st.. If nothing happens by Thursday night, then you may have cause for concern.

It has not been charged. I am not able to see the order on the standard att.com order status. I also never got the T&C email. I'm pretty sure it was legitimately not entered.
 
I don't think any black 64s ordered from AT&T are out of backorder.

Hopefully they start to go off of backorder today and mine goes out for Friday even though I had to order at 4:30 pm CST on Friday

Mine is 64GB Black out of back order. I ordered mine at 6:30 on the 14th. Premier customer by the way.

Anyone preorder a white 64G that's NOT in backorder? I ordered mine at 5am PT and phone rep says I'm scheduled for October 4th-15th.
 
The saga continues....

Pre-order remains in Attention status, with "credit card verification needed." AT&T can't handle a shipping address different from my CC billing address, I suppose. Morons.
  • Called four times on Saturday, no one was ever able to assist. "System down."
  • Called early Sunday AM, hold music for 90 minutes, no one answered.
  • Called later on Sunday, got message that they were unavailable, call back.
  • Called first thing this AM, unavailable.
  • Called a short time ago, on hold now for 20 mins and counting, with this horrid hold music that I'm going to hear in my sleep for weeks.

Plus, multiple chat attempts (can't help Premier customers) and repeated pleas on twitter to att's supposedly monitored customer care accounts. No help.

Worst. Company. Ever. I know all telecoms, and all corporations, are like this to some degree. But reading through the Verizon and Sprint preorder threads, their customers aren't being screwed over like this. AT&T is trying to break some sort of record for the worst customer service in history, I think.

So it looks like I'm going to Verizon or Apple on Friday morning, which I didn't really want to do. And it's not like I'll die if I don't get it on launch day -- though I did get the 3G, 3GS and 4 on day 1, I got the original iPhone and the 4S a couple weeks after. But I have a nice Gazelle quote on my 4S valid through October 4, and I'm leaving for a week's vacation on September 29. So if I don't have the new iPhone in hand by the 28th at the latest, I'm losing money.

How long did you wait on hold to get through to Premier?
 
Funny I ordered Friday 8 pm est on the phone and was charged for each phone I ordered instantly. So your logic of being charged will automatically yield a phone on the 21st is untrue. On the other hand I have 0 confirmation emails, and NO order status page online. Yet the CSR says everything is fine when I call them.
 
Order a black 32GB on Friday via AT&T site (non premier) at 9:26 EST. I received the email & confirmation text, and my debit card was charged the full amount ( $320 w/tax). Yesterday, I checked the status and it is pending shipment and 1 backordered.

I just checked my bank account, and the the $320 charge is gone.... ???

I ordered shortly before you about 7am cst and it still shows 1 in backorder, buy the authorization charge has now become a completed charge. Not sure if this means anything or not.
