ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

I wasn't implying carriers were suffering, only that Apple is throwing them a bigger piece of the retail pie to compensate them for the sizable iPhone commitment they must make to Apple. There was talk of carriers pushing back on Apple's pricing and quantity requirements. Carriers are doing quite well, but, of course they want better ROI. It's cheaper for Apple to let them have a bigger slice of retail sales than to reduce the wholesale price.
 
I received my confirmation email within minutes and then another email confirmation with my wireless numbers. Order took me 5 minutes or less to place around 4:30am EST. I signed up with a new account. Both emails said the phones would deliver on Sept 21st.
 
Pre-ordered this morning around 7:30am PST through ATT website. I'm a new customer. Got a confirmation email, then shortly afterwards an email saying to call and confirm my Identity. Called around 1030am, took about 15 minutes got credit approved with no deposit required and she told me I was good to go and my iPhone would be there the 21st. About 5 minutes later got an email that my order had been processed and it's been sent to the warehouse for shipping. Also checked my CC and the payment is now pending. All in all not a bad experience!
 
Ordered in store around 9:30 this morning and when I go to my AT&T it says I have no orders. How long does it take for it to pop up?
 
Ordered mine at 8.30a ET through the AT&T Premier website; got "order received" email right away (with shipping estimate of "should arrive as soon as September 21". Status still shows pending, and no preauths on my credit card yet. It's so ridiculous that I'm refreshing my order status page a million times for a PHONE (unless that makes it come faster?). It's tough being a geek sometimes! :D
 
I got my order for the Black 32GB iPhone 5 around 6:45AM EST. I just checked my status and it changed from Pending to Attention. Has anyone else noticed this on their order?

Haha I hear ya. The Premier website seems to update slower than the regular AT&T website. So keep that in mind as you see fellow AT&T customers receiving e-mail updates about their phones being at the warehouse and ready to ship. When I ordered the iPhone 4 via Premier two years ago my order status didn't update until the day before launch day (and yes I received my phone on-time).

Sure there are people that had bad experiences, but I think they are in the minority. Most people in your position will get the phone on the 21st.
 
Iphone 5 preorder

I preordered at around 630 est from the normal AT&T website but i still havnt received an email or any verification that i preordered. What should i do? i don't want to wait and i know im going to end up doing just that. thanks
 
Anyone else having problems viewing your status on apple.com? I keep getting the "We're Sorry" page.
 
I tried AT&T for 1:40 (along with Apple site) and finally got through at 434am on Apple site via Safari.I tried both sites on 4 browsers.Disappointed with AT&T as I preferred to use them but at least I got one with 10/5 delivery date.I have seen 9/21 & 10/5 dates-what happened to 9/28?

I called CS this morning after I placed my order and they said it wasn't possible.. Even if you try to change your billing address after the order it takes up to 30 days to process thereby delaying your shipment- according to the nice lady on the phone. Bummer. I'm gonna try to have a friend hang out at my house to receive the package.

I'm in the same boat. I ordered a bit before you and still nothing.

Did you get an order number?

My order does show in my account online but I haven't received any emails.

i know i didn't order from the premier site. i'm just going off what the emails and text i've received say.

yeah i had to go through the same thing. I'm not a new customer though, i'm adding a line. But after calling in and doing the identity thing this morning, no deposit was needed and my card was finally charged. I haven't gotten any emails yet though but my order was sent to the warehouse. Now I just hope I make it in the initial order shipment batch
 
When people go to their order on Apple (AT&T), what does it say for rate plan? Mine just says 2GB $25, even though I had a $30 3GB plan. Also, that's all it says; nothing about minutes or texting.

my order doesnt show online either and if there was a order number i didnt see it. i do remember a thank you for placing your order screen. i still have nothing .
 
I got in at 12:02 AM PST last night here in So Cal, preorder, confirmation email, and payment taken in all of 4 minutes. Too easy! It's been fun watching everyone all day scramble!
 
I signed up with my girlfriend to get a GS3, and hated it so I got a 4S on the 23rd of Aug. Since the original date was July 7th they wouldn't let me swap out for a 5. I tried calling and went to two stores and they all told me the same thing. Look's like I'm waiting a few months for a 5.
 
Is it a 12 digit order # ? Did anyone else get or not get an email confirm? I am a new AT&T customer and am porting my # from sprint.

no further emails from ATT
 
i ordered at around 6:30 EST and i have yet to receive an email. I went through the regular AT&T website. Should i worry?

It is like this for a lot of people, including me. Just let it change on it's own.
