I got that text around 20 minutes ago. I ordered last night at around 12:10am PST.
I received two confirmation emails last night ~20 minutes after my order. One of the emails states: Your iPhone 5 will be delivered on 9/21/12. Me likey.
And here's my order status results:
When I click on "In Progress", it states that the warehouse is still processing this item for shipment.
In my area (South Eastern Wisconsin) UPS and FedEx both offer same day pickup service so if I'm not home next Friday when they try to deliver it I can arrange to pick it up that evening. Anyone worried about missing the phone should check with their local distribution centers to see if they do same day pickup.

I got both of those emails and your order status screen looks just about identical to mine. Actually, completely identical, even though I ordered about 3:20 later than you. This gives me hope, Surely.
I'm sure it'll be a wonderfully busy day for them but my local center seems to be really good at moving people through the process. I've been there when there were lines before and it isn't that bad.
Plus, waiting in line for an hour at UPS is far better than waiting in line for hours at a store.

My Premier order is "Pending." The confirmation email says that I will receive the device "as early as September 21." I ordered at 5:00am PST.
I just tried to do another hypothetical pre-order through Premier to see what the estimated shipping time is. It is now quoting 14-21 business days. I'm hoping that means that those of us who were told "as early as September 21" will receive it on launch day.

I ordered through my Premier account and have the same exact status as you. My order was at 9:02am eastern time. I sure hope it means 9/21 as well!
I tried from 2:58 am to 3:20 am ET and got the message that Apple was updating the website or something like that so I reset my alarm to 4 am when I was then able to place my order without any problem, other than a scheduled arrival date of OCTOBER 5!!! How annoying.
I ordered at 5:45 EST this morning from ATT and I still haven't received a confirmation email and my credit card hasn't been charged. The online order status is showing "Processing".
I'm a little concerned because ATT is showing 2-3 weeks delivery now. If something is wrong with the order I could get screwed.

Last year it ws several hours before I got my confirmation email. You are ok.

I'm a new subscriber porting from Sprint. I ordered from AT&T at 3:45am or so. I didn't get any confirmation email or credit card charge.
However at 10:30am eastern, I got an email saying they needed to verify my identity. I called AT&T support and they told me I had to go to the store with two forms of ID or my order would be cancelled. I went to the store and they called the same # I did, and after an hour of being on hold and being transferred person to person, they asked me some verification questions.
I then got an email saying that my order was processed and was pending shipment information. Then my credit card was finally charged.
This happened all around the same time that the order times were pushed back so hopefully, my order is still okay!

More confusion for me (lesson learned not to sleep through an iPhone preorder launch). Anyway out of desperation I ordered direct from ATT @ 5am. Site said "delivers" on 9/21. Just spoke w/ AT&T rep & was told it "ships" on 9/21. Has anyone had a rep tell them theirs will arrive on the 21st? Just curious.
It seems pretty obvious that Apple pushed nearly all their preorder stock to the carriers this year.
I wonder if this strategy will mean less phones available in Sprint, Verizon, & ATT stores on 9/21 and more at Apple Stores.
Basically, a "carriers take the preorders and Apple handles the retail" strategy.

Tried to order online about 12:05am, both apple and att sites were pretty terrible...so i opened the apple store app, had it ordered within 3 or 4 minutes. got my email at 12:11am, says should arrive sept 21st. thanks for the people on here who suggested using the app!

Yeah, it does seem Apple had to give the carriers some of the sales gravy this round to compensate them paying out the wazoo for the iPhones. Previous Apple gave the carriers a few crumbs to sell.

The Apple Store app has always been the best bet. I still had to spend 10 minutes entering and reentering my password, but eventually it went thru. I had it running on my iphone and ipad, as well as the apple store on PC. The iPad was the winner.

I ordered around 8:15AM EST this morning. Got the exact email you got at 8:22AM EST saying my iPhone will be delivered on 9/21/12. Got a txt at 12:49PM EST saying my preorder has been processed and I will be notified when the order has shipped. My order status says the same as yours ... Processing.

Did anyone have any issues with billing address and wireless address fields on the AT&T site when you were pre ordering?? it took me almost 2 hours for the order to be submitted.
Also, for those who ordered from att site, did anyone get an e-mail confirmation ? I got a confirm number from the site last night but I am a little worried because I have not yet received anything on the email I provided. Did anyone get an email or not get one ??

Buying without 2 year contract
Folks, does anybody know for sure if buying from AT&T without 2 year contract will get me an unlocked iPhone 5?

Considering what AT&T has done with unlocks for previous iPhone versions, it seems that they could unlock iPhone 5s if bought without a contract. Anybody from AT&T to comment on this?

I ordered at 3:01EST. Never got the first email, only got one email at 4:30AM EST that it was sent to the warehouse. Got the text message at 12PM today. It still says processing.

Ordered mine at 2:50am EST (think AT&T) started a little early!
Received the confirmation emails at 3am and just received a confirmation text message. They've already charged my card also. Email says it'll deliver on 9/21. Online order status lists everything as pending with no other details.

Ordered mine at 5am, got the confirmation email immediately. Now it updated to say that it won't be delivered until Oct. 5th.
