Ordering iPhone 5

I placed my order for the iphone 5 at 2:48AM CDT, which is 2 hours ahead of PST. So I received a confirmation that my order was placed, and that I had signed the contract online. My understanding was: those who placed successful purchases online within the first 2 hours should be receiving their phones on the 21st. However, I have called AT&T several times and they cannot tell me when I will receive it. Today they said I should expect it within 14 to 21 days, which is bulllshit! My online status has been holding at Processing....

Jomirrivera: Wayyyyyy off track here, but we are planning a trip to Puerto Rico and thinking of staying in Fajardo. Thoughts?

Of course, you can stay at El Conquistador Hotel, it's a world known hotel in Fajardo, also you can stay at Gran Melia in Rio Grande which is pretty close to Fajardo and San Juan. If you are planning something, be sure to visit: "las cabezas de San Juan Natural Reserve" in Fajardo.

Also you can go to San Cristobal Fort in San Juan, Seven Seas beach in Fajardo, Bioluminescence Bay in Fajardo (Must GO).

Also, if you want to see something amazing go to Camuy, and visit Rio Camuy Caves Park. Camuy is at about 1 hour and 20 minutes from San Juan but the caves are amazing.

If you give me more information about what you are planning or what you would like to do, I can help you better!

I wouldn't stress too much about CC charges and if they are pending/charged or drop off completely.

I remember with the 4S last year, I had a pending charge that dropped off, received my phone and wasn't charged for it until a week after I had been using it.

I think the most important thing is if the backorder column changes from 1 to 0. That is a sign of progress.

But mine never had a charge at all/wasn't even accessed. That is what concerns me BUT my backorder did go from 1 to 0. I don't know of anyone else who ordered early and never had their CC accessed.

thanks so much!
rather than tie up this forum, please message me your email and I'll give you mine? I'd love to talk with you.

I'm in Puerto Rico and ordered 4 iPhone 5s at 3:09 EST and all of them are backordered, that does not mean anything. Yesterday the backorder tab was 0 for all of them, today it says 1 again!

I"m also from PR and the rep told me that all phones to PR will be 7 to 14 days, but I would take that with a grain of salt....

I'm almost the same - Premier order - 8:24AM EST 9/14 - now showing as 9/15 order date, order status "In Progress" and Backorder Qty = 1

I'm the exact same as you, I think we will be fine. They're still assigning thousands of phones to people. If it doesn't change back to zero by thursday then your iPhone will not come on friday.. But it should :)

Anyone know what "Status: Received" on the premier site mean? My other order is still "Status: Preorder Processing"

Conversation with ATT

I had a conversation with ATT rep and he informed me all this is controlled by Apple. Our orders are sent to Apple and as they are ready for shipment, they will provide us with the shipment details.

Cards will be automatically charged once shipment details gets updated in our system. So if there is an delay in shipment information, we will not charge the card.

I ordered mine at 9.30 AM central on 09/14 and based on all the other threads I think I am not getting mine on 9/21

Look, I've been reading this thread and see it's largely devoid of any actual hard info, so take this with an entire salt shaker...

I am Premier (ugh), ordered at 7:45am ET on 9/21, got only the one confirmation email, and have a pending debit on my charge card. I just got off the phone with a supervisor in the retention department, in my experience one of the most informed at AT&T customer service. He researched this order for a while, and it looks like Premier customers who ordered on 9/14 but who's status shows a 9/15 order date are in the 14-21 day order queue.

Even more frustrating, I asked him to cancel my order--to go to Apple Store or Radio Shack instead--and he was unable to even do that. I'm waiting for the rep to call me back before 6pm ET today with an update on the cancellation request, which of course impacts my upgrade eligibility and being able to get a subsidized phone in a bricks and mortar store.

Also, this is not a complaint. I do actually realize I'm very fortunate that this is a problem I have. Could be way worse!

What time did you order?

I can't imagine what the stores would be like on Friday.

I ordered at 8am CST on Friday. It seems that AT&T Premiers orders may have gone in a day later? I have looked at my activity from Last year and have come to the conclusion that If I don't receive a shipping Confirmation by tomorrow, I won't have my phones on Friday. Plain and simple.

It's just really inconvenient that this is happening. At the end of the day, it's not the end of the world. I would like things to work out the way the should. :)

white no longer back ordered..black still on back order?

I ordered 2 iphone 5's (16g) one white one black on 9/14/12 at 5:45 am Pacific time. Today the white one is no longer on backorder but the black one still is. Weird!!! I ordered them at the same time.

That makes the most sense, I would imagine the majority of Premier customers, like myself, won't get there phones until October 5 or so. Oh well, not the end of the world, now I have to decide what to do with my wife's iPhone 5 I receive on Friday.
