Waiting is one thing. Not knowing if it will sell out, and for how long, is another. $250 to not have to wait a month and, more importantly, peace of mind is kind of worth it to me. If it sold out, I'd be hammering the site every day until I was eligible for upgrade to check stock and that would eat me alive.

Damn u guys lol your making it a lot harder for me to put my credit card back in my wallet (on the night stand now).

Well she keeps coming on and updating me that they are working to get a free supervisor so it's not like it has been just music for two hours.

Yeah she is totally ****ing with you man. It doesn't take that long. When she comes back on let her know very nicely that you have been recording this the whole time just incase there was an issue where someone wouldn't believe who had you on hold for 2 hours. Bet you one of 2 things will happen. You will immediately get trans to a sup or you will be hung up on.

She seems like such a nice lady so I don't think I could say I've been recording the whole thing. I'm too nice

LOL sorry. All my friends are telling me I'm stupid for paying extra, but spending about $300 total (after selling my phone) for a new phone isn't bad at all IMO.

I remember back before the iPhone days I'd buy Motorola and Sony Ericsson phones for more than that, and the technology was complete crap back then.

Thats where your issue lies. If you act like its no big deal then she won't care and will keep doing it. I work at a place that I see this all the time. If their system is anything like ours then every time she puts you on hold and then comes back it resets her call timer so no one thinks she is on that long of a call.

You don't have to be rude. When she comes back and says still looking just say "oh no problem at all I'm fine waiting. My only concern would be if I didn't get to a sup or if we were disconnected which is why I have been recording this call so I may send it as proof to the time I have spent to get this issue resolved."

Maybe you guys should offer one of your relatives your old iPhone for free as long as they open a new account....

Yeah!! That's what I was thinking haha!!

They are definitely taking bets in that office on how long you'll stay on for.

After a while they do offer to call me back and they do. So it leads me to believe that they aren't doing that. Why would they even bother to call me back? Seems a little far to go just for toying with somebody.

Next time she comes back on I will say something.

I have been thinking the same thing. I say to myself well **** I would only pay $300 after selling my 4. But I am just going to wait until tomorrow after I get off work. I will see how popular it has been and maybe call AT&T again. If they sell out before I can grab a pre order then it was not meant to be...

You see the thing that you don't notice from your end is that they are busy and the rep is tired of dealing with rude demanding customers all night. She has you on the line nice as can be and is getting paid to sit around and do nothing for hours. She would much rather sit with you and make you feel as if she isn't lying then just get you to a sup. Trust me, if it was true she would be very annoyed no one was there to help her and AT&T would never let one rep sit on a call for 2 hours to get a sup.

I got through. It was pointless. I couldn't even understand the guy very well with his accent. I don't think he understood me very well either. He had no clue what I was saying. I was very very nice at first and then at the end it got unpleasant. I wasn't demanding or anything he was just useless. Whatever, I give up. Waste of time.

Seems like the eligibility checker on AT&T is broken.

And the Apple Store is down.

I wish I could call back again but I'm not waiting another 2 damn hours. Also, they seem to take notes on when you call and what was discussed so it'd be useless for me. There has to be some common factor with the credits people are getting. It seems just so random.

I'm kind of tempted to call back, ask for the retention department and explain that people are getting credit and that I would like one as well. Screw it.

Yeah once at the end when I realized the guy was useless I explained how there are credits being given. He did not have a clue what that meant. I definitely got the wrong rep. Maybe you will be luckier.

I got about 5 or 6 wrong reps so far. :( Not our night, I guess.

Only thing I can sort of bank on is if that one rep misinformed me about early upgrade and standard upgrade being two separate entities. If she was wrong, I am going to call and bitch. I don't like doing it, but I won't care at that point.

Yea, I just tried *639# and it says the "requested information is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

It gave me an update an hour ago so I'm guessing we're getting our eligibility moved up. Hoping, at least.

EDIT: Or, not. Just checked again, and received the same sad message I was receiving earlier.

Let me know if you do. It said was closed when I called.

Are you calling 611? Is a certain department closed?

Weird, it's working fine for me. Just tried it.
