Yea, I just tried *639# and it says the "requested information is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

It gave me an update an hour ago so I'm guessing we're getting our eligibility moved up. Hoping, at least.

I just tried *639# and it took a while but it came back giving me the same crap about the discounted upgrade. The online upgrade checkers don't seem to be working though, last time I checked.
 
Are you calling 611? Is a certain department closed?

Weird, it's working fine for me. Just tried it.

Online is where I noticed, I haven't tried *NEW# in the last hour.

EDIT: Just tried it, got the same 200+250 ********.
 
Just got a $270 credit To my Bill!

So i called in to complain about one of my lines not eligibile till 2/12.
long story short i got a credit of $270 to compensate for not being eligibile to update.

They're both working for me now, but neither is giving me the answer I was hoping for.

How long after you talked to them did you see the credit? I also talked to them and was told the same thing but haven't seen anything yet.

it already got credited to my account. so in 20 min or so.

also just a little fyi, she commented on me being nice:) so u guys might wanna try that.
 
Here we go, one last effort. I'm going to just be honest and blunt about everything this time.
 
My date was for November 20th and it moved up yesterday, I am not eligible for the discount 199.
It was due to a late payment I forgot about so it moved the date. :)
 
I've tried being blunt, "Hey, there's a $250 premium if I buy today instead of 30 days from now. Can you help me cover that $250?"

One rep offered the $90
Last rep said no

Here's to hoping! I'm going to tell them that I want to upgrade and that I already know my eligibility date can't be moved up for Apple products. I'm going to tell them that my ETF is $175 and that it's cheaper to jump ship. Then I will ask if there's anything they can offer. If they say no, I'll mention credits being given out. If it fails, it fails and I give up.
 
Talked to a rep today and she was very nice, but told me she couldn't really do anything since the dates are implemented into the systems. Guess it depends on how much you stand your ground? Eh to me, it doesn't really matter. I'll be able to sell my phone for at least (I'm hoping) $475-$500 considering it's software unlocked, no gevey sims required. Even threw in a couple of cases in my ad just posted on craigslist. If that fails, off to eBay I go, where sales for $450+ are looking pretty successful, lots of bids on those.

The way I looked at it was I don't mind waiting, but the fact is I'm not eligible until the 25th, the week of the Thanksgiving holiday AND Black Friday. I wouldn't want to be stuck in a dilemma there, so I'd rather be able to get it now. But now I'm on to another dilemma, pay it all upfront on Apple now or order through Best Buy and pay $50 down, giving me time to sell my current phone. Hmm...

I tried exactly that. Did not work for me. I'll be pissed if it works for you.

In giving up, do you mean you will indeed jump ship and go to another carrier? Or will you give up as in just pay full/wait out contract eligibility for the 4s? :confused:
 
This woman is TOUGH. I'm being very blunt and adamant about it this time though.

EDIT: On hold, she said it can be a 10 minute wait.
