At a local authorized reseller store. It must have been a really old device because it was loaded with IOS 9.0.1

I don't mean this in a funny way or to accuse anyone, but do any of you use the phones in particularly Dusty environments? I hope you get a good one next time! Good luck!

The problem is with silent switch 100%,if you keep pressing with 2 fingers on the middle of the screen you can hear air coming out from silent switch.
I think they designed this way because of 3d touch unit.
Can anyone with non S iphone 6 try this?

Hey guys, so what is the consensus on this issue? Has the dust issue been solved by Apple?
I am planning to order an iPhone 6S but am also quite reluctant due to this problem that would bother me a lot.

I remember this used to happen to the 3G and 3GS (or both!) all the time. Dust would get in via the switch on the side. Mind you back then the screen and glass weren't fused together!

My 6s is prefect no screen defects at all... I hardly ever use a case and work in very dusty conditions from sawdust to drywall dust. But I have no problems... As stated by many others tho the lcd and glass are fused with loca glue so the dust can't get in there... However it could get behind the lcd in the sides of the diffuser sheets and become noticeable thru the backlight diffusers so I realize it's something that could easily happen, I'm glad I've had no problems tho I got a launch day delivery 6s and everything has been great

I've got a launch day 6s plus that I've noticed this on. I'm starting a trouble ticket now.

I dont mind the look and I put a tape on the silent switch but i am curious will it cause any damage to 3d touch system ?Because as i read the air goes out from the switch

my near launch day (week later replacement) 6s plus has dust caked in the upper left, but it still looks better than the yellow blobs I had on two other 6s plus which I think I've stated before

looking at the yellow tint thread, not sure I want to roll the dice. Maybe before the warranty is up, if I'm aiming for the iphone 7, but i would hate to get one with dust and a yellow screen.

I can see this being the case

Also won't swap because unless I get one on 9.0.x which seems impossible by now, or 9.1, I will be SOL being without jailbreak which is a severe downgrade

It's not worth the hassle. I've had two screen replacement and a full phone replacement and they all get it on top left of screen eventually. It has to be a design flaw. Time to ignore this and look forward to iPhone 7.

thanks for sharing! saved me more hassle, only for same end result (and maybe more, the return of the yellow blob)
