There's no need to jailbreak the ATV for emulation anymore. If / when the Apple TV gets jailbroken, do you think there is any chance of seeing Dolphin Emulator (Gamecube / Wii) on the ATV - is the A8 chip even capable of running it?

I would imagine we would be able to get PS1 emulation since my iPad (I know its an A8X) Air 2 can run it?
More emulation will come.
I'm betting OpenEmu will beat Provenance to the N64/PS1 game. Both are multi-emulator interface/wrappers, but OpenEmu seems to be more advanced on the emulator front, while Provenance is more advanced on the iOS/tvOS ecosystem front. And once OpenEMU is on ATV, GC/Wii support will come shortly after they add it to their supported list (which is in progress).
Also, it will likely not need a Jailbreak, as sideloading is a fair bit easier to support for open development movements than distributing auto-installers via repositories.
I created various provenances based on the console and changed the name and backdrop etc. One benefit is that you will have less than the 200mb for many systems.i want to be able to switch between consoles like this android front end emulator
At 1:25 you press L2 and a sidebar slides out and you choose a console
And you can search from another hidden menu bar that slides down
So nobody cares that this is stealing money from the people who worked hard on developing those games decades ago? I mean it's fine if you own the games on the system, but otherwise it's just plain stealing.
Idk if it has been mentioned in the thread or not but just a FYI:I own close to 100 classic games in their original form, I just don't have room to set up all of my consoles.
Just ordered my cable from Amazon.![]()
Idk if it has been mentioned in the thread or not but just a FYI:
Make sure the type c cable has passed the tests for proper power through it and this spec complaint. Basically if you are buying a type c to type a usb cable it needs to have a 56k resistor so that it doesn't pull more power than your MacBook can handle since type a cant handle that much as a type c port on many chargers and prob macs and this can damage your Mac.
You are just transferring data but power might still be passable w the type c so the danger still stands IMO.
I had 3 that I had gotten for free and all three had the wrong resistor so I Trashed them. I have ordered three more since I was able to get a discount on a few from Amazon.
In short: get a type c to type a cable that is approved by Leung (see his Amazon reviews, he is a google chrome dev) or other reviewers that have done the actual tests on their Google devices for the cable to be spec complaint.
If your cable is a type c to type c then no worries. But I assume most of us don't own the new MacBook which is the only one from Apple w it.
To add to the discussion: you can't really buy the original carts from first parties anymore so you can't pay the devs or whomever in most classic carts. Hell many of the studios don't exist or have changed hands or distribution of assets.
Go in to settings and make sure controller 1 is not the Siri remoteI received the Horipad Ultimate yesterday. It controls the ATV, but I can't get it to work in the ROMs. Is there something I need to change or enable?
Yep that's what I did. Read the Amazon reviews and bought the belkin cable.
Does anyone have instructions for getting this to run on an iOS device?
I haven't been to this thread in a while. I read through most of it but didn't find a clear answer on this. Has the lag been fixed yet? Changing the tv to gaming doesn't do anything. And yes I updated to the new provenance.
Do you have lag in all games and all platforms? It seems to be mostly restricted to NES games for me.
