Is there a specific format required for roms? Some of mine are not showing up after I load them (they disappear from the list right after they upload via the browser). Most of my roms are well over 15 years old, so very possible they aren't in the correct formats.

Will I always need access to a Mac for Provenance? I don't have a Mac but I can get access to one if this is a one time thing to sideload the app. Once its loaded, will I have a need for a Mac again? There isn't a good guide I've been able to find on using it in a VM on windows

You'll need it to update Provenance. If you can live with how it works now (and it works perfectly), then you only need the Mac to sideload it once*. ROMs can be uploaded from any browser.

*This may change in a future tvOS update that could break Provenance.

I installed this today and it looks excellent, and will be even more so when my Hori controller arrives. I wasn't able to get Mega CD games working though. It wanted the BIOS files in a very specific location, but I have no idea how to do that. I looked for the path mentioned through the web server ROM upload process, but couldn't find it. Do I need some other tool to browse the file structure on the ATV?

Hoping for more systems to be added in future too. I'd love some PC Engine and PC Engine Super CD support, and maybe even PlayStation and Saturn too.

Got an ATV4 for Christmas. Glad I came across this thread. Ordered the controller and cable and am looking forward to this BIG TIME :)

Anyone else experiencing lag when using a BT Controller? Im using steelseries Nimbus controller and the games and the controller isn't in sync. A couple of ms late when pressing a button. I works greate using games from Appstore but not with emulator.

In the provenance app settings at the bottom it says release or debug ?
And the latest version

Also make sure you update the nimbus controller

And using game mode on the tv helps

It's releaseversion. I don't think gamemode would work because the controller works perfectly with AppStore apps but not the emulator. I'll try updating the controller if I find out how.

It means the provenance dev can rebuild the app using openemu 2.0 instead of the older version
If he wants to

Nice, I hope that means that I can upload stuff in other formats, I was going to zip all my genesis and snes games.

I already modified provenance on my iPhone 6S to read Nintendo and added a nintendo console icon on the iPhone and used ipedros presets for the atv4. I still have not side loaded anything into my new atv4 though. I decided to do the console systems separate just due to the amount of roms I have saved up.

I do have on question if I pass more than 200mb in roms in one app what does the atv4 delete? anything it wants?

Quote from the dev

"On Apple TV, local storage is not permanent - it is treated like a cache and isn't counted towards the app's storage usage, because it's purgeable. This does mean that ROMs and saves can be deleted at any time (but most likely in a low storage situation, with a Least Recently Used policy). It is recommended that you back your saves up regularly."

Got an aTV for Xmas, and trying to put Provenance on, have a free developer account, plugged in, Xcode can see Apple TV, but after pressing the "Play" button in Xcode (I'm not a real developer!) I get the below error. I'm following this YouTube guide...my aTV is 9.1

Error is below
An App ID with Identifier 'com.jamsoftonline.ProvenanceTV' is not available. Please enter a different string? I also somehow on a few occasions when clicking yes/no/fix etc, got 2 emails from Apple with the following..

Your Mac Development certificate has been revoked
Your iOS Development certificate has been revoked

Not sure what I clicked or anything!?!? If anyone can help please...
Is this is the best, and most recent guide on YouTube? Also after a easy guide to put Kodi on as well please, any links?

thanks

I got stuck on the "Select Apple TV from the menu" step. When I plug in the Apple TV, it launches iTunes so I know it's connecting but it never appears in the Xcode menu. Any ideas?

Is Xcode updated to the latest version?
And is the Apple TV connected to a power cable

Watch the video is the first page
Following it, as soon as I click the "fix issue" I get the following error

"An App ID with Identifier 'com.xxx' is not available. Please enter a different string"

**edit** think sorted it, I changed the xxx to a unique name, it has to be unique think so anything, a number etc and seemed to work then

I updated Xcode to the latest available (I'll check version number in a bit) and yes it's plugged in. I tried it powered off and powered on. I'm on The latest version of Yosemite, not El Cap. Does that matter? Also, I don't have a paid developer account (but I do have a free account).

EDIT: I'm a doofus. My Xcode is out of date. I updated my desktop but never updated the laptop I'm using. I'll give it another go after I update.

i want to be able to switch between consoles like this android front end emulator

At 1:25 you press L2 and a sidebar slides out and you choose a console
And you can search from another hidden menu bar that slides down
