Do you have lag in all games and all platforms? It seems to be mostly restricted to NES games for me.

It's very laggy for me on all games. It's not a game breaker for slow games, such as RPGs, but for platformers and shooters it renders them pretty much unplayable. I think some of the lag comes from MFI controllers themselves, as they feel sluggish even in native Apple TV games. Provenance is worse though, it really feels very stodgy and unusable.

Go in to settings and make sure controller 1 is not the Siri remote

If is the horipad and still don't work

Remove the app from the background and reopen provenance with the horipad not the Siri remote

Also you haven't been here since the first 2 pages , there's been a few updates and fixes
You should update the app
And make sure it says release not debug at the bottom of provenance settings
Thanks. :) Turns out all I had to do was change the setting for controller one away from the Siri Remote.

i've spent thousands on the app stores, but I'll be trying this out too. i can only see this benefiting Apple, as initially it means more Apple tvs sold, and potentially also forces Nintendo to officially release classic games for iOS/tvOS

And more mfi game controllers sold too!

Does anyone have instructions for getting this to run on an iOS device?
real easy, open Xcode, plug your iPhone, open the provenance project then you should see at the top Provenance>iPhone, if not then click on it and change it to your iPhone, you might need to fix permissions on th build where it says fix issues. Anyways if all good just press play an boom provenance on your iPhone. I rebranded mine as Nintendo and has the console picture as the icon on my iPhone. Works awesome on the 6S

Huh? The hour? Must be a typo.

Of the games I've played thus far I noticed no lag whatsoever.

So nobody cares that this is stealing money from the people who worked hard on developing those games decades ago? I mean it's fine if you own the games on the system, but otherwise it's just plain stealing.

Release the games on Apple TV and i'll buy them.
Can't imagine it's too difficult to get the great iOS Sonic ports (which i've already bought) onto tvOS.

thanks! Yes, it was the iPhone autocorrect that changed hori for hour.
Good to know it works great. I'm seriously considering getting a mfi controller but they are expensive for quality and I already have 3 PS3 controllers and one ps4 controller. I hope they bring native ps controller support like they have w macs in the near future.

yeah, I had one and didn't like how it felt so for now I just have it ready for when I do get a mfi controller at a more affordable price since I don't want to spend so much for a meh controller. For the prices they should fell amazing but they don't

So I use the siri remote for now since I also have an old modified gamestick + mod gamestick dock running pure android that uses a ps3 controller for most emulators with no lag at all for most classical consoles when I get the classics itch. I'm mostly using the atv for airplay and kodi atm, the gamestick could not handle kodi smoothly for high quality content.

My schedule is crazy so I haven't dedicated too much to the atv except some Xcode playing, airplay and kodi. I will try to get a picture when I have some free time next week :)

Here is just the Nintendo emulator (provenance) on iOS since that is the only one I care on my phone. My iPhone is not jailbroken.

they do work on iOS with provenance right ?

Rating scale how hard this is to pull off.

1 a non tech savvy person can easily do this, 10 it requires an IT certification to get this done.
Time approximate to get working?
Any upkeep once installed?

This is pretty awesome.

Need to change the name after the .com to something unique

Yes i did that, exactly as the video says. Anyway, i click the Shelf tab and the Provenance tab and i change the name there too. Finally somehow it worked

Yes, you have to change the ID on the right build target (the AppleTV one), which is the one it's trying to build for the AppleTV, but which isn't necessarily the one whose info page opens first when you load the Provenance Xcode package.
