I got a 64GB iPhone X Silver for delivery 3/11. Used the app on my iPhone while walking to the bus stop!!!
Haven't decided on a case yet, thinking of the Apple silicone in ultra violet - have it on my iPhone 7 Plus and love the colour.

Not happy at all. The Apple Store App failed to open for me until 18:09. I also tried refreshing the Apple site but still was down until 18:10. By the time I had selected pick up and then the time slot I get an error saying that pick up no longer available!
Wonder what my chances are for reservation attempts the night before ie 02.11.17 or after midnight on the 3rd. I had luck in this regard way back for my iPhone 6. Not sure if my chances with the iPhone X!
If you we’re unsuccessful what will you be trying in order to get your hands on this beauty?
Delivery isn’t an option for me sadly, but don’t think could wait the 5-6 weeks!!

Got into the apple store app at 15:04 (WA time) got rapidly through to “place order” (Space Grey 256GB) for delivery on 3/11, asked for my credit card security code, typed it in and pressed place order - nothing. Hit place order again, asked for my security code again, typed it again and hit place order.... nothing. Did that a third time - nothing. Got fed up and went back, delivery estimate changed to 2-3 weeks :(

Didn’t bother placing an order in the end. Not too bothered about it to be honest, I was in 2 minds anyway due to the price. Will stick with the 128gb 7 for another year

Well done - glad it went well for you! I was so hyped and organised, but it all went nowhere in the end...! Still pretty down about it, as I had worked myself up all week!

I really like it. I think with the iPhone X not having a physical home button that having the bottom of the case open will be a good option for swiping up and down from the bottom of the screen (no running your thumb over the lip of the case).

Protection wise, seems ok.

I had the exact same experience. So after a few minutes tried for pick up instead and success! I was swearing a little when it wasn't working.
 
Telstra are so incompetent it is beyond belief.

I had a local on the phone. An indian on live chat. They had a back and forth through me. One saying the other was able to what was required but neither saying they themselves could do it.

Hours later. 2 hours on the phone more than 3 on livechat no closer to a resolution. I have one email with the wrong phone despite doing everything correctly on the Telstra site. One person said they cancelled it and I should add another order. That second order hasn't gone through either. No email received for it.

Absolute shambles.

Will there be stock for those that line up? George street it is...

I had the same issue using the App when the clock struck 6.01pm there was no glass slipper for me, with Apple's online store down for about 4 minutes later. When I managed to squirm in i was hit by a barrage of pop up error messages. Also to my delight i had to re-enter my shipping details and Apple ID numerous times before securing a 4 - 5 week window. I am going to wait my cinderella out, given I cannot be bothered to make a personal appearance at my local Apple store and do that hail 5 thing.

Another year another flop of a launch

Had Apple pay ready and setup iPhones added to favourite

Kept refreshing store between 5.59-6.04 at which point the store came up for me

By 6.05 I was at the final stage, pick up
Store selected, time selected and tapped fingerprint...

Nothing... zilch... shows processing and then silence.

So try again, payment failed

Tried about 20 times same ****

7.12 it changes to 3-5 weeks

Ok try again, Apple Pay, payment failed...

Tried my commbank card, enter cvv and it shows me my details... click next and nothing...

By this stage I’m over it

I called Amex and enquired about this and they were like no charges were even attempted on my card..

I just tried to order something from Apple using Apple Pay. No damn issues.

Then I heard some went to the resevation website and has no issues getting up to 6 sets divided among 3 people

Far out the app didnt work at all for me :( I went on my laptop and used website. Even that I had to refresh 5-6 times

I couldn’t get in on the Apple app. I only had my iPhone since I was helping my kids at a school fete and not still at work still like I usually plan on order day. So I ordered 2 upgrade plans on Telstra instead.

The first one was an iPhone X 256GB silver for myself and the second one was an iPhone X 256GB grey for my husband.

I noticed that the order process was different for the second order and then that I only received an email about the second order. After waiting a bit, I decided to ask on Telstra online chat. It took a very long time to get in. They didn’t have my first order even though it had processed on my end. Not happy. By time chat had told me this and I had reordered, I’m now out to 5-6 weeks. I’m very disappointed. It’s a Telstra stuff up, yet they claimed that they could do nothing to help and that I had to just order again. If the chat process didn’t take so long then I would have only had a 2-3 week wait even after reordering. Not happy with the ordering process, but I’ll get it in the end....let’s see if that’s by Christmas.

I started refreshing the app repeatedly on my ipad and on my iPhone when it got close to 6pm (same thing with the website through my Mac).

My iPad was the first to go through (6:03pm) and I was able to place an order (64 GB space grey) for the 3rd of November. The website on my Mac finally went through a couple of minutes later. Strangely, my iPhone’s app didn’t work until 6:20pm.

Now I’m just curious why all my devices couldn’t log into the Apple store at the same time... shouldn’t pre-order have started at 6:01pm, on the dot?

I’m a bit surprised at how many people had issues with the app. It didn’t come up for me until about 4-5 past 6. When it did I had no issue. I had already had the iPhone in my favourites and just added it. It did take a bit of time when I clicked purchase. But I have it coming next Friday so I’m happy.

I had one and then switched to the leather one. The only reason was because I find the silicone case hard to remove from pocket. It sticks a lot to my jeans. The leather one does not have this issue.

My friend ordered the iPhone 8. He had delivery date estimate for launch day. He had no updates until day of delivery.

Yes I am at a loss and a tad disappointed that both my app and the actual Australian safari Apple site were not up and running until 18:09! I had quit and relaunched the app that many time just after 18:00. I got quite stressed so tried the Apple site via the MacBook, and it was the same. It wasn’t until 18:08 that it finally went live on Safari, so as per all of the known advice jumped back into my app. Then the rest is a sad history.
I will keep checking each day close to launch, then after midnight on the 3rd.
What will everyone else who doesn’t want to wait 5-6 weeks be trying?!
 
I got my order in, 256Gb Space Gray, used the Apple App on my IPad Pro. It took me about 50 times of loading the app, and shutting it down / reloading before the page opened for me. The order went through at about 6 minutes after opening. Once I was in, the order went through easy-peasy! I was surprised to get a launch day delivery. Now we play the waiting game. I wonder if the phones are sitting in a warehouse in Sydney, so we won’t get shipping updates till Thursday night!?

Well, it may well be the case that I may have some luck for a Sat 4th reservation and pick-up. Went to the Apple site and had these two notices above. The other option was to line up, but that didn’t work when I did so for my 6!
So we still have hope!!

It sucks that bug still exists - I had the same issue with ordering an iPhone 8+. Thankfully no one wanted those so it wasn't an issue once i got it working.

Aussies get updates REALLY late. It doesn’t say “shipped” until like the night before and then it’s randomly out for delivery. So don’t be too concerned if we don’t hear anything until Thursday evening lol.
 
I’m surprised to read that so many fellow Aussies had issues. My Apple Store app opened at 6:02pm and worked like a charm - had already set up the iPhone X in my favourites, a few taps and Apple Pay and I was done. Got the confirmation email at 6:02pm as well. iPhone X Silver 64gb on 3/11. Hope those who are waiting for delivery get their shipping estimates bumped up!
