Tuesday 10th here in Australia is Monday 9th in the U.S. (I'm from your future :D ) So if the box is real that would explain the reason for the opening date. However I doubt a reputable reseller would post pictures of the box.

Yeah but if the iphone is in the box, and it is opened, and there is a 50 50 chance of the battery depleting since it was shipped, does the iphone power on for the 9th or the tenth?

how would it power on if the battery is depleted, that makes no sense

Weird
And who else recieved a box? Huh? Nobody...
Let's just wait

Everyone seems to be missing the most important question here...

... why do Australians get a holiday for the Queen's birthday when we have to go to work?!

uhm, ok, that's very nice but doesn't answer the question

It was a dumb joke, a sarcastic reference to Schrodinger's cat.

But hey- 2 points for nailing the impossibility of an iphone powering up if its battery is depleted! You Win!

The battery wouldn't be depleted anyway becuase a) the iphone would be turned off in transit or b) the Iphone would be turned off in transit

He was more likely referring to the FedEx label, not the NDA labels. I doubt his PB was shipped to him with NDA labels all over it

No... It was not the FedEx label, the box that my nano and Powerbook BATTERY came in were brown just like that, with a shipping lable with a black apple in the upper left corner with my name and address on it. Everything looked similar, except it was without the NDA warning on the front.

Then you got screwed bc every box I have gotten from apple never had the letter head look like that. Yes it was a brown box, but the way the lables look on these are total ********. The Apple logo is never that big in shipping. When I got my MBP in the mail this year the literature was very discrete and hidden.

It is very possible these people used old boxes from apple and put these horrid looking labels on it

And how is it that I got "screwed"? I still got the product... and it was directly from Apple. But no, I do agree with you that just anyone could have printed off a label like that and slapped it on a box... but it DOES look like similar shipping labels apple has used in the past.

Not if there is a 50 50 chance that it would be turned on in transit. Then the iphone is in a complete state of flux between being able to be turned on or not

Hopefully it's NOT Detective David Mills' wife's
head ..... "ahhhh, just tell me what's in the box!!"
Brad Pitt's wife's head is inside the box.
As Brad Pitt asks in Se7en. "What's in
the baaax. What's in the baaaaax.

Wrong! All you Se7en literalists are on the wrong track.
And sorry, Brian. Bill's version is better.
"Hey, Mr. Tamborine man, play a song for me. "

In actual fact all the resellers in the city here in Sydney received that box. However they didn't just get one box but many of them. They're packing boxes because when the Apple Store opens these resellers will go out of business (thank goodness, most of them have no clue what they're selling).

Ok well then... can you guys at least say if it is this week or give me a hint. I'm dyin here. This will be my first iPhone and I have been without a cell phone for 3 weeks in anticipation for this thing!
