Pro Max is 8 oz without a case. My 8+ is 8 oz with a slim leather case from Apple. It’s heavy. Can’t see many people happy with the Pro Max being 9 oz with a case...

same here - I broke down and got the same configuration (with 256GB) - I know next year its supposed to be amazing - but I am really happy how this model is shaping up.

Yeah, I was skeptical about upgrading before the event...but as usual once the event was over, I changed my mind. I have upgraded every year since the original iPhone, I figure why break tradition now?

Also went with the 256gb, which is way overkill for me...128 is the sweet spot for me on an iPhone, especially with a lot of my stuff being stored in iCloud, but 64gb seems a little risky with the 4k60 video. Also, glad to finally be on the Max model...which I should have gotten last year.

Edit: Also, the extra battery life was a big factor in my purchase as well.

:apple:

I got my Midnight Green 256 Max ordered after 6 a.m. Pacific on Sprint for 9/20. I reserved mine with Priority Status a few days before. I had a few problems with the Sprint app but all in all, decent experience.

Ordered 2 at approximately 8:05EST one showed a delivery date of Sept 20th and then slipped to the 27th on my orders page. The second showed 27th as the delivery date in the cart and on my orders page. Both were midnight green / 256GB for ATT.

UPDATED: Looks like both have disappeared from my orders page... I've been through enough of these pre-orders to know they will probably show back up. Otherwise looks like I'll be re-ordering.

I was able to get a iPhone 11 64 GB. Pro Green model at 8:55 am for launch day delivery. But I bought mine unlocked instead of locked onto a carrier. Hopefully launch day delivery doesn't slip.

Ok I am curious I ordered and got a Phone 11 Pro Max 512GB Space Gray for September 27-October 1. It took me til 7:08 CDT to get in and after having to for some reason reenter my payment info I thought was preapproved I got the order and finally took 30 minutes for the order to be officially not on hold and processing.

My question is if the Phone 11 Pro Max 512GB models are limited and more got them than they expected? Did anyone get these for the 20th? Just a matter of curiosity I sorta wondered about going whole hog on memory this year as I usually do 256GB in models it was offered in.

Seems that folks with 256GB got some 11 Pro Max's for 20th but wondering if my premonition about the availability of 512GB might have been right ;-)

I guess no one there will pay $1284 and $1385 for the 64GB base models.

Few people do actually pay for a phone upfront, they buy it with their subscription. £1000 might seem like a lot of money for a phone, but £50 per month for a brand new phone, 100GB of data, unlimited calls, free roaming in the EU, US & Canada is certainly reasonable -- and that's what most people buy, at least here in the UK ;)

No wonder Apple is loosing marked share in EU big time...

iOS market share is pretty stable (around 25%) in Europe for the last couple of years, so I'm not sure what "big time" marketshare loss you are talking about o_O

midnight green color went first, suggesting it is the most popular color this year

Just because it went first doesn't mean its the most popular, unless of course, you're privy to Apple production numbers and each color was produced in equal quantities.

I don’t know, I have to see this green color in store first, then I’ll make my decision. I’m not partial to any one color, but I want to see it first. I have had Gold/space gray/silver all in the past, the green looks interesting. (And no, I don’t use cases if I don’t have to.)

You can look at it now in AR via the app! It looks amazing and you can get in *really* close :)

Or they like the color
Obviously that’s part of it, but I think it’s no coincidence that the new color is always the hardest to find. If you look at the gold 5s, rose gold 6s, jet black 7, the gold XS, and midnight green 11, in every single case the shipping dates slipped the fastest. I think subconsciously people want to distinguish themselves.

That
#1 - Not identical.

#2 - because you turn around and sell last year's model for about 80% of your total cost. Makes an annual purchase just a couple hundred bucks.

That's definitely not true for the XS MAX 512GB model. It's about 55% of it's original price on a resale. Not worth it.

Shortly after pre-orders for Apple's new iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro models went live, supplies of the new higher-end iPhone 11 Pro models began dwindling, with launch day shipping no longer available for many colors and capacities.

Most iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max models in the midnight green color went first, suggesting it is the most popular color this year. At this time, most new Pro models in midnight green will ship in late September to early October.

Space Gray, Silver, and Gold iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max models are also selling out quickly with many colors and capacities across several carriers now unavailable for launch day delivery. Gold devices are still in stock along with a few Silver and Space Gray, but it looks like all available supply will soon be exhausted.

The iPhone 11 appears to be faring better and most models in most colors and capacities can still be purchased for launch day delivery.

Given how fast the iPhone 11 Pro is selling out, it's best to place an order as early as possible. Those who don't get launch day delivery may be able to visit an Apple Store or another retail location on launch day to get a new iPhone.

Update 6:15 a.m.: Shipping estimates for select models of the iPhone 11, led by the new green and purple colors for T-Mobile and Sprint customers, have started slipping beyond the September 20 launch date as well.

I was concerned a new color would be hard to nab on launch day but got a green 11 Pro. Love the iPhone upgrade program!

I went straight to Verizon and got mine well after they went on sale. It says it will arrive 9/19.

I bought a pair of iPhone 11's, black and purple. Couldn't justify the $500 for the Pro. I almost went for the XR but I know I'm going to use that Ultra Wide all the freaking time. Plus Night Mode. Gonna be good.

Ordered both space grey and midnight green versions of the Pro. Going to look at them in person and return whichever I don’t like. Although if MG shipping dates continue to slip it might make more sense to sell that version to someone with no patience to wait a few weeks who is willing to pay a premium...

In 2015 Apple sold 231 million iphones. In 2018 they sold 217 million phones. Their global market share has been falling. Because they will only come out with 5G capable phones next year or later, some of the people who would have upgraded this year might sit it out. Goldman Sachs earlier today reduced Apple's price target by 27%. I think Apple will continue to do well in the US, but not so much world wide particularly in the growth markets of China and India.
Goldman Sachs is high. They reduced the target because they misunderstand how apple accounts for the free Apple TV+ subscriptions that it gives to iPhone purchasers. It’s treating that as $60 coming out of margins.

Yes, yes. Let the years hype over dust commence. Wait until until 2020 iPhones. Skip this year, for sure.

Began hitting the Apple site at 4:55 PDT, and finally got the site at around 5:10. Chose a Gray 11 Pro with 256GB (my first phone ever with more than 64GB which has long ago begun to feel constraining), was originally given a delivery date of 9/27 and by the time the transaction was completed received a confirm for 10/1! At 5:20 I went on the AT&T site, waited in a queue, waded through their crappy interface, and at around 5:30 was able to buy the identical unit with a confirm stating 9/19 delivery. Unless Apple changes my delivery date significantly I'll cancel the first order and take the AT&T delivery.

A bit annoyed at Apple (becoming a more regular experience) that they have this crazy pre-sale process at inconvenient times and an enthusiast who bothers to go to the site at the appointed time doesn't get a release day delivery . . . especially when AT&T customers can get it on their site.

Some of us can afford it and love upgrading. Besides, on the iPhone Upgrade Program, I just pay the taxes and keep moving on with a new phone, never paying full price while deducting the expenses.

Seriously. It's $60 a month and I enjoy upgrading each year. With the way some people act you would think I was taking out a second mortgage on a house.
