Or your phone not to close one app just cause you opened another. It will be nice to be able to open Pokémon go in my car (while parked) and not have the music app close that I was listening to via CarPlay.

True, though it is very weird that it would close a background app that is playing music. It’s not supposed to close apps that are active, even in the background.

Hey, for the few of you complaining here about "WHY UPGRADE?" or "IT MAKES NO SENSE!" or "IT COSTS MORE THAN A MORTGAGE!" or "I DON'T UNDERSTAND!" or, even better, "ANDROID HAD THIS FOR YEARS!" or whatever else...

Some of us can afford it and love upgrading. Besides, on the iPhone Upgrade Program, I just pay the taxes and keep moving on with a new phone, never paying full price while deducting the expenses. All while still earning points on my transactions. This is a killer deal for me. Said differently, it almost makes NO SENSE to NOT UPGRADE!

Besides, for some of us, likely MANY of us, the iPhone is not just a phone. It's a success tool. I make way more money with my iPhone than the cost of the iPhone. Talking to prospects, opening or closing certain trades, sending invoices and getting paid on them, transferring money or paying bills, using the hotspot so I can do more on my laptop, conference calls, oh my God the emails I send/receive about everything, and whatever else.

On a personal note, I have kids and I want to document as much as I can of their lives with photos and videos. This is a phenomenal transaction for me overall. So, please, don't try to spoil my fun or that of other people. I ordered two phones (iPhone 11 Pro for my wife and a Pro Max for me). We're both SUPER happy. Also, I have an Apple Watch Series 5 Titanium coming in. And, to make things real fun for the haters or the boohoo'ers, I just ordered a Tesla Model 3 and I should get that by the end of the month. Make better choices, learn a marketable skill, hustle, and manage your money better. It makes days like today extra fun. At least way more fun than your "negative" comments. Oh, and have a great day! Mine is excellent so far!

A very unhappy person, chasing happiness with the fleeting satisfaction of phone and car upgrades. YIKES!!

It appears even Apple is saying “wait until next year”.

Began hitting the Apple site at 4:55 PDT, and finally got the site at around 5:10. Chose a Gray 11 Pro with 256GB (my first phone ever with more than 64GB which has long ago begun to feel constraining), was originally given a delivery date of 9/27 and by the time the transaction was completed received a confirm for 10/1! At 5:20 I went on the AT&T site, waited in a queue, waded through their crappy interface, and at around 5:30 was able to buy the identical unit with a confirm stating 9/19 delivery. Unless Apple changes my delivery date significantly I'll cancel the first order and take the AT&T delivery.

A bit annoyed at Apple (becoming a more regular experience) that they have this crazy pre-sale process at inconvenient times and an enthusiast who bothers to go to the site at the appointed time doesn't get a release day delivery . . . especially when AT&T customers can get it on their site.
That's why i love being on the iphone upgrade program. You get to fill out your info and get pre approved days before hand. Then when pre order goes live it takes 15 seconds to complete the order.

At 8:01am Eastern it opened up for me, and since I had completed the pre selection process on Tuesday, all I had to do was click 2 buttons and I was done. Midnight Green delivering on the 20th.

Well that only works if you get in first 5 minutes it was almost 10 after for me in central Illinois. It seems the nodes I connect to take awhile to get thru to the store when it opens

I did the preapproval and went in and selected complete order and got a message it needed my payment info? Well it had done all the citizens and payment info from my card on preapproval but seemed the store did not have the info in the app? I had to reenter and when done I had slipped to September 27 to October 1 delivery. So not smooth for a number of us who did preapproval.

So you know that (1) all the "enthusiasts" are online at the exact same time trying to buy iPhones as well right, and (2) there is a limited amount of inventory?

How do you expect Apple to guarantee release day delivery under those circumstances?

I went ahead and ordered 11 product read 256GB. I'm upgrading from XR 256GB through Apple upgrade program. Before the XR, I was using my iPhone 6s from its launch.

My main motivation for this upgrade is my feeling that I have a defective screen. It seems to lose touch response periodically, and the image displayed on the screen regularly distorts (pink/red pixelation) for a second or two. I've posted a little bit about it; I've searched regularly if others are having this problem, but it if it an issue it seems to not be widespread. So, I planned the last month to upgrade and trade the XR.

Obviously, I would like the upgrades from the 11 pro. I would have picked silver or maybe the green, but I can't justify another 400$ for pro.

I also reason that the 400$ not spent now makes it easier for me to upgrade next year.

I got the Silver iPhone 11 Pro Max so it matches my silver stainless steel Apple Watch. I couldn’t justify upgrading my watch to series 5 this year, however.

I had fully planned to upgrade my AW4, which I've only had since May, even though I didn't figure it would be a big upgrade this year, but also decided I could justify it.

I went with the iPhone 11 128gb in black, this is a great middle of the road phone with better battery, better WIFI and LTE data performance. I am going to wait until next year to get a pro. Are city is scheduled to get 5G service next summer. So this will be a good time to upgrade to the pro model next fall, phone should have 5G data services and I will trade in this model back to Apple and upgrade again :)

I hope no one is triggered when I say this, but that midnight green is the first MANLY color Apple has ever released and I love it!

Black is not a color because it’s the absence of all colors.

Black is perceived as black by the human eye because it absorbs all visible light, but it is indeed a "color."

Wow. Didn’t think they would slip that quick. Got my 256g mid green pro for launch day right at 8:02. Interesting to see how quick the other colors slip.

same here - got the order in for launch day delivery for a green iPhone 11 Pro max, 256gb.

Am I wrong or has Apple Care+ become a lot more expensive? They want 269$ for it here

Apple isn't running a lemonade stand. This is one of the most sophisticated manufacturing/sales organizations in the history of humanity. Have no doubt that they have a very good idea about what initial demand will be, and the fact that they didn't have even 10 minutes of stock on hand is a strong suggestion that they didn't care that they had insufficient supply to meet the demand for the people who cared enough to be shopping at 5:00 a.m. Of course, I bought it anyway, but it's just one more small indignity that in totality can add up to death by 1,000 cuts as Apple whittles away it's substantial decades long goodwill with me.

Unless you like your safari tabs to not have to reload constantly

For your Safari tabs to "reload constantly" with even a pitiful 1 GB of RAM you would need to have 50 tabs open. On a new iPhone 11 Pro that's probably closer to 200 tabs. Maybe it's time to re-evaluate whether you really need 200 tabs.

Midnight Green was the worst colour - in fact the worst coloured iPhone ever, in my humble opinion of course

Fixed your post.

I think that green is sweet and am going to be fighting this purchase as I have absolutely no need of a new phone. I hope they offer this color with next year's redesign.
