I'm just going by the idea that Apple tend to update all their countries websites at once - since their HQ is in the PDT zone, their employees who flip the switch probably won't be into work until 9am. Let's hope so, anyway.

I really hope Apple releases this BTS at 1pm Eastern US time. If not I am ordering anyway and hoping it will be released within the next 14 days.

It would have been posted by now if it was today. Apple is not going to assemble a window display in their brick and motor stores midway through the day to advertise the sale like they have in years past. Both the online and retail stores parallel. Stores on the east coast opened at 10am which was three minutes ago. Now we get to wait another 24-hours. And another.... And another....

But the BTS was not released until 1pm so I will still be watching and waiting.

The whole tradition is bound to implode soon. College is just too expensive now. If Apple really wants to innovate, they should abandon BTS and have a campaign focusing on 'iTunes U' as a credible system. (No, I don't want a surgeon who went there, but 98% of learning isn't that hands-on and critical.)

That's a fair point. I'm merely thinking that if when the MBP is launched and there isn't much of a price difference between that and the MBA, I might as well go for the Pro purely because it's a little more powerful. I'm not planning on buying a new machine for a long time after I get this one, so I want to make sure I get something that's not going to get too run down over time.

I hate all the ambiguity! JUST TELL US WHAT'S GOING ON, APPLE!!! :')

:) My point is, MBA is powerful than regular MBP now, especially when the new SSD is even faster. Plus its far more convenient and has a better exterior (or looks hotter if you prefer)

Unless you use CD a lot or you are waiting for a 15-inch MBP which is much stronger, my suggestion will be, take either MBA or rMBP. SSD is really the most significant factor for the performance of your laptop

I just spoke with someone from the local Apple store in Pittsburgh. They said they will give the promotion if it is in the fourteen day window. He did say that they have not received even a hint of a BTS. He said that he is personally starting to think it will not happen. His reason was the low prices on the Air and the large discount on the MBP.

Now this is just his opinion I am assuming, but I think I am going to go get mine today or tomorrow. I am not going to waste another week not having my computer. I think I can live without a iTunes gift card at this point anyways.

I'm pretty sure if there's a promo today, it wouldn't start until at least 5pm BST or 9am PDT. Right?

well its 10AM.

Yea, a $100 iTunes card isn't going to stop me from getting a MBA. I need to get use to it for school in the end of August.

If we don't see it tomorrow or next Monday, it's not gonna happen this year.

Apple has a history of doing events/releasing products on Tuesdays, doesn't it?

I don't think Apple's history of event/product releases can really be applied to BTS.

Do you think that the only thing they will update in the new rMBPs is the Haswell? Or do you think that they will throw in some other upgrades such as more flash storage by default or more ram? Also, what do you think about prices? Will they drop them down a bit? I know it is all speculation, but I would like to know what you all think.

Haswell with the Iris Pro 5100/5200 will be a fairly significant upgrade. The Retina Macbook Pro is starved of an adequate GPU and needs one desperately IMO.

Here (https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1559562/) is probably a better thread for discussion about the Haswell rMBPs. It would be nice to see some additions other than just Haswell, though, like you say.

My MacBook Air is going to arrive, at the earliest, 1st July. That gives me until the 14th to be able to claim on any BTS promotion that might start, so, I'm pretty alright with that. I'm rather excited, in fact. heh.

I gonna order my iMac at bestbuy anyway. Basic 21.5" model only 1099 before tax. They are offering 100 bucks off on Macs and you can get another 100 off if you gave a .edu account. This is a great choice for people don't need customized. At least I know I get the cash back, not a useless iTunes gift or st.
Plus, talked to bestbuy staff yesterday, the guy said they gonna offer a 100 bestbuy gift card for Macs later this fall. That's a good news for the coming RMBP.

I was just in bestbuy, they are giving 200 dollars off?

Well, sort of. 100 off is the regular sales price listed on displays. And an extra 100 for students.

It's really only 100 because pretty much every other major store is selling old mac models for a reduced price.

Isn't it 14 days from when order is put in?
