THIS!
Take it back and leave it there. What you're doing a just a blatent abuse of customer service.
"My iPad has lightbleed when I hold it upside down and flex it while in the pitchblack, whilst I'm standing on my head looking at it from a 2 degree angle!"
Just take it back, you're never going to be happy.
Look guys. Those of you saying that I'm over reacting need to get a reality check. When I pay Apple 659£, I'm not making a payment + / - 40£. Therefore, the quality that is being delivered, as far as I am concerned, should be 100%.
I do not want to deal with this, and spend time dealing with this as I have. It is stressful, it is a waste of time, and it makes me look crazy by the end, sure. But I will not accept sub par quality. It is as simple as that. I give every product fair shakes, but Apple is the reason I have gone through 6 replacement, not me.
-First ipad: terrible backlight bleeding, movies looked disgusting on it.
-Second ipad: terrible backlight bleeding, but I sucked it up for 2 weeks. A few airplane trips later and being completely angry while watching movies on this uneven milky backlight, I went back in for another swap.
-Third ipad: bright blue stuck pixel in the middle
-Fourth ipad: 3 chips (literally black dents in the back) and 1 huge scratch on the back
-Fifth ipad: 3 dead pixels
So i just went to the genius bar today. Got a very nice guy and I decided not to give him the background and see what his system told me. Told him I have had the ipad for a few weeks and this one has stuck pixels. He found them all right away and pulled out another swap for me. So far the swap seems ok. I can tell i have a less bright display than the first few ipads, but at least there are no dead pixels and there is no backlight bleeding. And, there are no scratches and chips on the back. So i'll learn to live with a warmer white display, at least there are no stuck pixels and no backlight bleeding.
You guys who accept defects from your all powerful master steve jobs are the problem, not me who refuses to drink the coolaid and pretend everything is fine for my "premium" device.
