I am not sure what the first 4 numbers/letters correlate but mine that is overall good and very acceptable that im keeping as well is a: DN6FRI bought a 64GB WiFi iPad 2 last week. It had very, very little lightbleeding & has the serial number DN6FT.
I'm very happy with it, but since having it, I can't help but constantly think that I should return it & grab a 16GB WiFi model, thus saving $200 at the same time. For some reason, being the s**ky cheapskate that I am, I can't help but kept thinking that the base model is the most "bang for the buck" model & it will be better for me to just save that $200 & put it into my funds for the iPad 3 purchase next year.
What to do?What to do?
This is definitely a sh***y dilemma.

Got my 64GB WiFi only iPad 2 swapped out for a 16GB WiFi only iPad 2 to save some money about 2 hours ago.Unfortunately, this new iPad 2 has got very, very bad backlight bleed. There's one blotch near the bottom right corner that is noticeable at 50% brightness when using it in my moderately lit room.
Stupid me. Now I regret making this exchange.
The serial number of this new iPad 2 starts with a DN6FV.
On second thoughts, I guess I probably deserve it for trying to be a smart a** in saving some money. I had known very well that if any one of us are able to find a very little or close to no bleeding screen, we should keep it at all costs, but for being a cheapskate in saving $200, I ended up giving up my good screen for a crappy one.I guess I had to admit that I'm a complete fail! Oh well, I'll most likely return it or I might just have to suck it up & live with it since all these exchanges can be a bit of a hassle & bring about much frustration as there are no definite way of obtaining a near non-bleeding screen. Hopefully, after a few days of using it, the bleed will "miraculously" improve.
By the way, for user512's record keeping purposes, V-(6-SPEEDwithJJ-bad).
Run back to the store and buy back your old iPad 2 before they ship it out.
Just returned home from my trip to my local BestBuy store. Unfortunately, the BB employee who served me told me that the unit I returned to them for an exchange yesterday was already sold.![]()
However, the only good news to come out of this trip was that he allowed me to return for store credit. I guess you can say that I've definitely learned my lesson.
Hopefully, I'll not be overcome by greed again & be such a complete fail next time.
I guess my iPad 2 panel lottery game continues due to my stupidity.I think I'll wait for a couple of weeks before trying again. Who knows? By the time I go on to buy an iPad 2 again, the MBA refreshes may finally be released & I might just add a few hundred bucks to my store credit amount & go for a base 11" MBA instead.
