Well mine has some backlight bleeding... DN6FW. Not as bad as a lot of these, but it's pretty noticeable along one edge with a dark screen.

How are you guys taking pictures of the screen? I tried taking a couple and they weren't turning out well.

There's also a little chip in the aluminum along the bottom where the glass and aluminum meet... seems like such a small thing to complain about, but I swear it's glaring at me and your eye is just drawn to it. Is it common for the aluminum not to be perfect?

So as much I hate to start this process I think I'll be returning this one.

From my experience (and I've had three iPad 2's) it's pretty common for the aluminum to be imperfect. All three of mine had a chip or nick here or there.

seems like the w batch is still not so good. use your camera fone and just take a picture without flash in a dark room.

yeah its not fixed.

Got my dad an ipad 2 32gb 3g (GSM) from the USA.

Backlight bleeding...

its only in one corner though, and he won't notice. I can't stomach going through so many returns again, but this way, if my parents screw up the ipad somehow I can return it for a new one due to Backlight Bleeding.

APPLE FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looks just like mine and I kept it. It's acceptable in my humble opinion. Like most posters said (and experienced) you could exchange it, end up with worse displays and have you good one sold or sent back to the factory. I ordered a subsequent iPad and the display was worse than the one I kept.

looks pretty good is that at 100 percent? if it is then its pretty good the worst one i tried had bleeding at 30-40 percent and a white orb. screen shots people anymore recent good screens to give us hope? =) its getting frustrating but it's becoming a treasure hunt for me and my family haha

Yeah, as I was taking the pictures, I was thinking this isn't too bad. I played with it a lot yesterday and I can't say it really bothered me much, except when watching a video (and that's probably only cause I'm fixated on the issue right now).

And yes those are at 100% brightness.

Sucks that we're settling for the lesser evil, but I guess I'll keep this one.

Over time you won't notice it's there. Like you said right now you're looking for it so your subconscious is locking on to the problem. I'm speaking from experience :)

We would need a copy of what image you are using for black to be able to tell. You can end up with a picture like that just by looking at the first image that shows up in google image search for black background. The second black image in that list will make you think you have dead pixels.

Without a standard reference for black, all of these pictures are kind of meaningless.

Edit: Not sure if it is tapatalk or mr trying to auto hotlink photobucket

This background seems reasonably free of defects, open it up in the photo app and see what it looks like

i like seeing good screens, they give us hope haha. but seriously i thought there was a rumor that they've switched to samsung screens so how come the bleed is still there in the w units

well mine got a small speck of dust under the screen only noticeable when the iPad is not turned on.. and no way am i exchanging it when i have very little light bleed.. i could get up with one with light bleed that is a lot worse.
