My AT&T black 32 has it. It has no bad pixels or dust under the screen so I am going to wait until Apple fixes the issue rather then swap now as most have this prob. Apple has an amazing exchange policy with defective hardware.

I will enjoy it for now as manynpeople can't get one at all

For mine I wouldn't mind se much if it was just one location but as you can see in my pics, it's literally everywhere.

i can't believe how much some of you guys are justifying the clearly subpar screen. thats some crazy ignorant apple loving. its like going to lawrys and getting cold steak and not asking for it to be at least heated. grow some balls.

This just raises the need for apple to implement Super AMOLED technology where there is no backlight thus no bleeding issues and the absolute deepest blacks you can get. ...
Ridiculous apple made no changes to the display. I'm actually kind of expecting the iPad 3 to have an OLED display since LCD is outdated and AMOLED has better black levels, refresh rate, colour contrast and viewing angles.

Don't the OLED displays still have limited life? Maybe OK for a phone, but, maybe it's just me, if a tablet's not designed to last at least ten years, it's garbage.

Just so you guys know, Apple keeps new devices in stock JUST for exchanges. They have to. Don't worry about your local store not having one, they have plenty for exchange. :)

Not us idiots who bought at best buy. I have the bleeding and two dead pixels

This is so completely wrong on every level. Have you ever worked for Apple at a retail store? If no, then you shouldn't be talking and advising people to head down when you're clearly wrong. And if you have worked there... shame on you for lying. They do not purposely back stock items for exchanges. Through the genius bar under warranty, they might when that stock comes in. But I'm pretty sure most consumers want a fresh boxed product just like they purchased in case that needs to come back later as well...

You sure???
What they're not telling you is that yes you CAN take it back to Apple and if they have units at the Genius Bar to swap, you're fine. What they're not telling you though is that once you do this, you are no longer entitled to return the iPad to Best Buy should you want to return it for a refund. You're basically getting a completely different product with an obviously new and different serial number. If you don't see that possibility, then you're golden. But if you do... beware.

That doesn't make sense best buy doesnt check the serial of the device. They just return it

They don't record it on the receipt? Well in that case.. just ignore me, I thought they did. Pretty sure they do with cell phones, assumed they did with these along with computers.

I'm taking a trip to Seattle in April, should I bring the iPad box with me to try to exchange it at the Apple store? Or is just the iPad enough? I bought mine at Wal-Mart.

ordered one through verizon. REALLY hoping it doesn't have any issues just to not have to have the headache of trying to deal with it.

...No? What would I be kidding about?

Is this like a "Wow not another one you've got to be kidding me" or a "Man that isn't bad compared to others, are you seriously complaining?" kidding.

I see some very legit complaints but I don't see anything wrong with your display. I might be missing something or your being real picky!

Here is my video showing my problems.

holy crap dude that really sucks. some i've seen are minor but that is really obvious and definitely a defect. Were there ever issues like this with the first ipad? man I'm really worried now. I went through this kinda crap with dead pixels with my first itouch and it's annoying as hell and a huge pain in the butt.

You've definitely got issues. I'd be returning that asap.

I would do so tomorrow, but I am waiting to see how many other people are having this problem beforehand. This is the second iPad 2 I have had replaced in a day as well.

I don't know if the first iPad had these problems, but I think the iPhne 4 did when it first came out. This is very annoying though.

This may be a mfg problem, but you gotta admit Apple's support is amazing. When I was angry after my first ipad2 I emailed tim cook and steve jobs with my complaints and the picture from the CNET article, and within hours I was called by someone from Apple and they arranged an exchange at the local apple store. Now I had already called the store prior to hearing from this guy, and they said they were out of stock. I guess they lied because after the guy from Apple called the store manager they had an exchange for me waiting to come pick it up...I can't say I've ever heard of another company being this great at support. The problem is that the second unit has the same problem as the first -- and I can only assume that there are thousands, if not tens or hundreds of thousands of affected units. The thing we all want to know is -- what is it exactly? What is causing these "artifacts" to appear on the screen? MFG defect that's permanent? Or is it the glue \ evaporation thing that will eventually go away? I'm going to update the guy from Apple executive and let him know that the 2nd one is bad as well...I am sure they will look into it and release some kind of statement. It's not like them to deny stuff or "admit nothing" -- like the dude said, remember antenna gate? They had a whole press conference for it, and that wasn't really a show stopping issue imho.

Getting back on topic tho -- I think the only thing we can do is wait. Unfortunately the apple store here doesn't have rest rooms so I could not tell if it was bad or not when I opened it in the store. They really need to look into this and release a statement -- because a lot of people are either really mad or panicing right now.

My first gen ipad had and still has absolutely no problems whatsoever.
