Opinions?

At the price, it really ought to be better methinks.

Are you kidding? That's the best iPad I've ever seen, well, at least better than mine :p

Keep it, don't get psyched by the light leak issue, yours is perfect!

Must admit, it doesn't really bother me...but £659 is £659 :)

Mine looks exactly like that one. Very minor light leakage. I'll be keeping mine.

What about the other 8 you have seen? :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

'I'll be keeping mine' ? What's brought this on? I thought that was never in doubt. Isn't LCD supposed to be a minor step up from a chisel and stone + a torch in your mind?

Why wouldn't you keep yours? You've said repeatedly that all LCD devices suffer from light bleeding and that it is par for the course.

Sounds like you keep good track of my posts. Glad I have you trained. That said, you're a bit incompetent as a stalker, as you must have missed it when I said that if the bleed or any yellowing bothers someone during what they deem as 'normal' usage, then by all means get it replaced. Mine doesn't, so I won't be getting it replaced. But yes, to confirm your paraphrase of my thoughts, all LCD's suffer from light bleed to varying degrees.

And to my other follower, who can't seem to get enough of my posts, to correct your commentary, the 8 that I exchanged previously were from the iPad 1 days. Guess you missed the chapter on competency as well in stalker school.

Good replacement

Got my iPad 2 swapped out. Went to the Apple Store Tuesday night due to light leakage, the genius immediately ordered me a replacement. I got to hold onto my old one for the two or three days it took. My new one came in a brown box and is near perfect - no dead pixels and little to no light leakage. Very happy with the customer service.

i'm newbie here. i knew that bleeding happens to almost every iPad, but i don't know if my situation is worth an exchange, can you guys give me some advices????

That is pretty bad, and makes me realise how utterly trivial mine is (see up). In your case, I'd deffo swap it out.

Yeah, to all intents & purposes it is. It's a keeper, decision made. I'm not OCD/picky generally, the only reason I questioned it briefly is 'cos of the high price of the device itself. The actual bleed is irrelevant in real usage.

Anyway, good luck mate.

What a witty reposte. You knocked me down a peg or two there :D:D:D:D whilst not really answering anything

It is hard for me to believe all the posts saying just ignore it or get over it. The IP2 wasn't advertised as "the new and improved iPad2 now with more bleed!". It is supposed to be an expensive consumer want it device and people should get what they pay for, a device with no issues, no matter how willing some people are to overlook it. If you bought a ferrari, paid top dollar, and the transmission would shift, but it would grind and skip just a little, would you say, "Oh but I have a mighty Ferrari and I'm willing to overlook it, just shift slower and it won't be as noticeable" or would you expect to get exactly what you paid for?
Well apparently Apple realized that many of us do not think it is OK. I read an article last night (http://www.appleinsider.com/article..._backlight_maker_for_ipad_2_supply_chain.html) stating they are looking at two or three new backlight manufacturers to start contracting. The part that bugs me most about it is that if they are taking this step they realize they have put inferior QC'd parts in their devices and I haven't seen any admission on their part saying sorry to the customers who shell out $500 and up to support them and make their record profits. I would love to see them step up and replace ip2s for those with issues when the new ones come out with the new parts. Sure this would cost them money, but also earn them customer loyalty. They could refurb those with the new parts and send them out as future replacements, it would not be a total loss.
Obviously, this is just my opinion. I am one of those who believes you should get a perfect item when you pay for it. In fact I expect it. Nothing is so amazing that I will pay full price for it when it has issues, and no company is worth rooting for if it will profit on inferior parts at the cost of customer dissatisfaction.

Hello everybody

Here are a few pics of my Ipad which I bought yesterday from Apple store White City (London). Brightness turned up to 100% and 50%

I don't think im gonna ask for it to be replaced cos i might end up with one worse then this. Personally it doesn't bother me as I only notice it when i run the test

I'm pretty shocked a lot of you are still having bleed. I assumed Apple had fixed it after a flurry of reports of bleed-free screens (such as mine, on the 3rd replacement). :(
