Well that's about the same discount as HE/Apple employees get anyway (~20% off), so it's not wholly indicative of a refresh. In all honesty, normally low stock or new MB models listed in OS X beta would indicate an upcoming refresh.

I saw this this morning, it would be great if it can be combined with a movers coupon and educators coupon. I was able to do that two months ago when they were $100 off. I ended up getting mine for just under $1100.

I'm headed back to Best Buy to get my 150.00 refund for the price drop. I paid 1149 2 weeks ago. Merry Christmas to me

Just had this done yesterday for my MBP that I paid 1350 for. It was dropped to 1199 yesterday. But now that I see a MacBook at 999 it's tempting to return everything and exchange it.

Oh this Sucks! I just purchased the rMB 1.2 w/ 512GB SSD from Best Buy yesterday. I got them to price match B&H and paid $1419 for it. I felt the just over $200 dollar price difference was worth doubling my storage and the bump in CPU speed. Now we're talking about a just over $400 price difference. Decisions, decisions!!! Any advice LOL

If you don't need the increased specs you should return it and buy this one.

As long as you're in the return and exchange period.

They have extended return and exchange dates for the holidays. It is usually 14 days after purchase. I'm a elite plus member so I get 45 days year round. Just left Best Buy, easy transaction in and out in 5 minutes. Nice!

Unless you're a heavy user, the base model is plenty. I do everything I used to do on my MB Pro with very little difference. Definitely not 400 dollars worth of difference. Pick you up a 256 gb usb stick while you're there. On sale for 59.00

I assumed that, if someone was curious enough to explore, they would look this up themselves.

Apple won't price match either right? Tempting to take back the IPP for this!
Just return it and head to Best Buy. I originally went to purchase the IPP and came out with the MacBook. After spending time on my moms IPP, glad I did it. iPad Mini 4 is plenty and compliments the MacBook well...

Funny you should say that. That is the combo I was considering. take the IPP back and get the MacBook and Ipadmin4. Maybe even get a slim drive to store all my content so I can easily move movies around..etc when on the road.

Sounds like a pretty good combo and 2.5 pounds in the bag

It's the perfect set up for me. Best Buy has a 256gb usb 3.0 stick on sale for 59.00 as well

I picked one up today for $999 - $35 in rewards. Also had an open box AV adaptor for $20 off. Good deals to be had today!

Best Buy is Apple's unofficial factory outlet.

Now that competition is greater than ever, Apple let's them to the dirty work under the Best Buy name, creating the illusion that Apple demand is stronger than ever.

It's a brilliant approach.

I think you're right. It's a win win win. I just bought one, thanks to board member Spink I saved another $50 on it. This is a sweet machine!

I didn't bite on the deal. Rather, I decided I didn't need to spend the money on a MacBook Pro at all and returned it. My 2011 15-inch will last me for a few more years.

This is a great deal so I just picked up a second Macbook for work but the screen isn't uniform. Its noticeably warmer on the left hand side. Anyone else seen this? Any chance it goes away over time? Should I just exchange it?

what color did you guys get?
I got space gray. Lovely, just like my iPhone ;)

Mine is perfect. I read another forum post where another member just bought one that appears to be an older unit that sat for months - came with Yosemite and the battery was completely discharged. Mine came with El Capitan out of the box.

Set it to 1440x900 which is quite roomy for a 12" screen, and still looks pin sharp. The speakers on this thing sound great, full sounding and loud. How did Apple do that in such a tiny chassis??

I've been using it for nearly 3 hours, includes 1.5hrs of Netflix. Battery is still at 72%. I'm loving this Macbook :)
