Could be West Coast time it changes. I purchased one to get it at the cheap price.

But if it's still on sale tomorrow, I'm going to get one in store using Apple Pay (on my Discover) to get another 10% back. Also going to see if they'll apply the $50 college discount.

I picked mine up yesterday, but I'm fairly certain the little price card at best buy said 'prices good from 12/20 through 12/26'

Might want to double check your local best buy and see. In addition, they will SOMETIMES let you get in on a sale if your off by a day..

Got mine yesterday at my local Best Buy. Great little computer. Nice and light, fast and a great addition to my MacBook Pro.

addition to your macbook pro? what is your use needs to have both? just curious as I was considering the same thing LOL

If anyone is still interested in getting this for $1000, head over to the Marketplace Forum. I ordered an extra one that is still processing and can change the delivery address to yours if I receive payment in time.

While the bestbuy sale is over, the base macbook -- new unooened is being sold on ebay for 1075. In my case with tax the bb deal would have cost me $1062.50. So the ebay deal, no tax, free shipping, up to 24 months to pay with paypal credit and no hassles at bb is a comparable if not bettrr deal. I already have a base gold that cost me $1149 a few months ago on ebay and was a bargain then..

I am always going onsite to work on customers networks etc. I really don't want to carry a 15" MBP around all day. The MB works great for this and my shoulders thank me. Plus when I travel I have 10hr battery life for watching movies or whatever. I used to use my iPad Air 2 for this but now I have a full OS, a keyboard and a trackpad. I just works for me.

My up went back to 1299. I went to Microsoft store and got the xps 13
QHD i5 skylake
8gb, 256gb
Touchscreen

Got it for 1079. The lady gave me student discount even Im not a student..

I have a movers coupon and BB gift card ($260).

I got it down to $698 (including tax).

Does BB really give another $50 off for college students? I just ordered online for store pickup and I really hope I can get them to apply that discount tomorrow during pickup.

Also - I want to do Apple Pay online with my Discover Card so I can get another 10% off, but unfortunately they don't do it online!
cancel it and go to store to buy it!
if you have to buy another 10% code off eBay for $18 you will save a lot more with the student and apply pay

Tried to buy an open box rMB right before the sale ended. Just got notification that the store I selected no longer has it in stock. I'm hoping I can get them to honor the sale for a new model, but I don't have high hopes. My experiences with Best Buy customer service isn't very good.

So I ended up buying a open box one. Got the typical okay price with it. Well when I got it home it had stuck keys. I didn't think anything of it since it was under warranty. I made an appointment at my local Apple store. They quickly saw the issue and told me it would ship out Monday for repair and maybe back as soon as Wednesday. It is now Tuesday and it still hasn't shipped. It took forever but finally got in touch with the store thur a Apple customer service rep. I was told it would be another 3 or 4 days before it ships out for repair. I didn't expect to get it back in time for holiday travel. But is it normal for an Apple store to just sit on it that long before shipping it out for repair? Naturally I am excited and want it back. Since it was open box it wasn't like I could just return it for another since it was the only open box. I guess this is what I get trying to save a few bucks. But seems strange they wouldn't have mailed it out Monday or even today for repair.

I picked one up during the sale. I am thinking about returning it. It is slow. It is no better than my late 2010 MBA 13. In many cases, my old MBA is faster. I do like the form factor of the rMB, keyboard and the track pad. I like everything about it, but its CPU power. I really try to like it...

Go to the Best Buy store first, they may be willing to work something out, especially if it was suppose to be certified.

Once apple exchanges it, you can't return it and anything Best Buy could of done is over with, since the serial numbers are different.

Go to BB exchange it and you don't need to pay the difference. I've done it on their camera open box.

Thanks. I should have tried it. I just assumed that they wouldn't do it. I got the 1.2/512gig model for $909. So I figured Apple and just getting it fixed would be my best bet. I didn't think they were going to give me a new one for that price. I give it a try next time.

I don't know why I continue to buy things from Best Buy. Just got done speaking with customer service and of course they claimed the could do nothing. So basically their inventory claimed it had the item in stock at my local store even after I received the email telling me they did not. The cs rep said they could send one from another store, but then I would owe the tax on it which would completely negate the open box savings I received originally. And of course they couldn't "price match" for me and offer me the sale price again for a new model. I don't understand their policy in that regard since their system screwed up originally. Oh well. I was burned by them before and swore to never do business with them again. I should have listened to myself before I was tempted by the most recent sale.

Don't beat yourself up too much, crappy things can happen no matter where you buy something. I just got nearly $700 back from Verizon through a credit card dispute because I ordered a new iPad from them online and they never shipped it, nor would they return my money. It's been going on since Sept. 27, and I've spent countless hours on the phone between then and now.

The craziest thing, they didn't dispute any of it but they wouldn't fix it. They agreed that they'd never shipped it, and they agreed that I'd paid for it. Regardless, their system still showed the item as unpaid and they couldn't fix it.

So its says on BB after Xmas sale these are going on sale again...
But I don't see the MacBook 12" on sale???
Only the Pros and airs...what gives???

Was holding out for the 2nd gen on but couldn't pass up the Best Buy deal. I used my 10% movers coupon to get it to $900 and and paid with Discover via Apple Pay which gets me an additional 10% back.
