Download and install the AdGuard Safari extension. My 13PM was getting extremely hot while browsing Macrumors and the battery was depleting rather fast as well. Someone here mentioned installing AdGuard safari extension and thought they were joking. They were not. My phone no longer gets hot and the battery does not deplete. Definitely give it a shot and report back!
Or people can just stop using this website, which would force Macrumors to fix their issue. It’s been going on for many years.

i’m on a 13 pro and seemingly experiencing sluggish battery life. battery drops 5% overnight idle (5.5hours) and when i power off and on i realize it loses about 3-4% each time too. is this normal?

i even restored the phone to factory settings and redownloaded all apps without any transfer to see if ur makes a diff cos of a rouge app. still the same

I’m also getting drops of around 7% overnight while completely idle. Screen isn’t even turning on for notifications as I’ve got bedtime setup.

same. i’m thinking of sending it back to apple and hope for a replacement set.

i also losing 1% batt life for every 8 minutes streaming on netflix. seems very underwhelming.

I did a few battery/heat tests to push the iPhone 13 Pro, on day 2 of ownership:
- Recorded video 1080p/30fps for 2hrs 30min straight: 55% battery was used, ~70%brightness, little heat output.
- Recorded 30 min of 4k/30 vs 1080/30: did not see much of a difference in battery life, slightly more heat
- Recorded 4k/60: in this case the phone heats up but can still be held comfortable for long periods, didn't test battery
- Recorded 1080p/30fps, peak brightness, charging at 12 or 15 watts: gets a little warm
- General app/web usage drains the battery slowly and fairly uniform 100-20%. The battery life is impressive and in line with the YouTube battery life comparison test (mrwhostheboss)
- However, I don't think video streaming is going to hit those sky high hours listed in tech specs

Notes:
- I'm using LTE, refresh up to 120, bluetooth off, wifi on
- I went through 3 iOS 15 "battery saving tips" YouTube videos. There's a lot of customizations that touch on as well. It took a few hours to go through everything and shut down features and privacy options.
- There is a battery calibration process mentioned in one of those videos. Might be helpful for someone having problems.
- Apple 5W still works well with the old USBA to lightning cable (will use for overnight charging to reduce heat and increase battery lifespan).
- Tested a Samsung 10,000mah/25watt PD power bank. On the USBC output charging appears as fast as Apples 20w charger.
And just to clarify - you were using the Pro not the Pro Max, correct?

I’ve had the exact battery issues on my new 13 pro. Apple advisor did a bunch of troubleshooting. Doubt it’ll help 😢

This works well

but I still have poor battery life on my 13 Pro..

I’m curious. Anyone out there getting good battery life, are you on Wi-Fi 6 mostly?

I read about how Wi-Fi 6 is supposed to preserve mobile battery life and wonder if my Wi-Fi 5 setup could be part of the problem.

I can’t really test without Wi-Fi because my cell signal is so bad.

wow thats dissspointing! My PM has been stable...
How do you know it is safari - macrumors that is killing the
This is amazing!
That’s the pro or max?

Add me to the list of poor battery life. I was at about 65% after 3 and half hours of screen on time. Not as bad as some but certainly not as advertised. This was after a full clean install and set up as new with no backup.

Already have a replacement ordered.

But your phone could be indexing lol? It takes days to normalize….

Ahhh no wonder I didn’t experience this issue. I have PiHole and set up Hyperweb first day to block ads.

On the other note, yesterday my battery dropped very fast to 5% and just kinda stayed there for a while. Haven’t had this issue today when I did a full wipe and restore from backup, now it drops more linearly.

Doing good for me so far.
on 5g? wow

This forum has been notorious for that. Every iPhone I’ve owned has gotten hot simply by scrolling this forum. It’s like Apple programs in an over heating function, so people don’t come here and bad mouth them.
My MBA even warned me that this site (forums) were causing battery drain.

On my 13 pro it jumps percentages from 68-66. Something my previous phones never did. For example, yesterday it was at 70 percent, I did a power boot and when it came back it was 67 percent. Something don’t seem right. If it don’t settle in a few days I will ask for replacement

I just rebooted and went from 98% to 94%. That's alongside mediocre performance for my 13 Pro Max, and weird battery stats that don't make sense.

I contacted Apple and they said after a few days battery shouldn’t be doing that.. I called Verizon to have mine replaced but bc they don’t have stock I have to wait 2 weeks 🤦🏼‍♂️

Horrible battery life. I have background refresh disabled. This is day 6, something isn’t right at all.

I would get it replaced. Gotta be some lemons out there

i’m getting anywhere between 1-2% drop over 8 hours idle while i sleep.. i don’t use wifi so i can only presume that it’s the active LTE signal. 140D915C-6905-4EAB-A5B3-ECB93A5B42CA.png
